Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

lonelyonee · 24/07/2019 13:55

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

@lonelyonee I wish I was over the nausea stage but I seem to have got it late on, I've only been physically sick once but that constant feeling I wanting to chuck my guts up gets a bit overwhelming sometimes!

As for baby names me and my OH decided long ago on names, actually before I even fell pregnant as we knew we we're going to try at some point. We want Maynard for a boy and Scarlett for a girl. Are you girls finding out the gender? We have had one of these 'nub theory' predictions done online, ours has come back a girl! Funny as all of our family are suspecting a girl and deep down my OH wants a girl first. His face was a picture when we got the prediction back. Although we have to be prepared for it to be completely wrong, but we really don't mind!

Thankfully we dont have any money worries at the moment, my OH was lucky enough to land some inheritance money and that's sorted us out ten fold, I dont know what we would have done without that though so I completely sympathise with you ladies who have money worries. With a child, you will make it work regardless. I'm scanning FB marketplace constantly for bargains myself, sometimes it's really not worth buying new when there are so many people out there getting rid of their baby stuff cheap! Also, lucky for us ladies who are due March, we can make the most of the January sales! Wink X

Eventrider1 · 12/10/2019 13:47

Just checking in as realised I hadn't posted for a while. Thankfully my sickness and nausea seem to have stopped completely while I am on holiday, thank god! Flying back tonight and hoping the sickness stays away. I'm only 16+1 but think I have felt some tiny baby movements already which was exciting 😬 Have midwife coming over Monday morning for my 16 week appointment and house check, although I have already warned her that my house is a complete building site at the moment.
Got all my results back from the 12 week scan and blood test and all looks good. The only slight issue is they have incorrectly put my height in as my weight so apparently I weigh 170.8kg instead of the 65kg I actually weigh 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I am still low risk even at that weight 😂 have also booked a private scan on the 19th October to find out gender as I just could wait until my 20 week scan in November.

How is everyone else doing?

lonelyonee · 12/10/2019 22:02

@HighOnStilts awwww I feel for you ☹️ sending big hugs your way! Yeah it's horrible feeling sick but not being sick, are you managing to eat much?
I wish we had names lined up already but no, it's going to be such a problem for us to agree on one! Argh! Aw Maynard is nice but different! 100% finding out the gender, I just couldn't imagine not knowing! I did nub theory on one of my scan photos and pretty convinced I'm having a boy, as is OH's mom who did that necklace thing on me? 😂
Awww would be lovely to have a little girl but as long as they're healthy eh 🤞🏻
Ah that's great that you don't have to worry, one less thing and all that. Still good to save money where you can, no point wasting it!
Yes we can!!! Hoping there will be some bargains on the next 2 me type cots as they're so expensive!

@Eventrider1 hey! Oooo holibobs! Where have you been nice? Very jealous! Oh my god me too, I'm 16+3 and I've defo felt something going on in there just lately, it's very exciting!!!! My midwife appointment is Wednesday although I'm pretty sure it's where I went last time... how come you're having it at home?
I was thinking about a private scan but really can't afford to part with the money to get one so will just wait until the 20 week scan the beginning of November.

Everyone been feeling the tightness and having pains here and there? Find it absolutely mental that there's a baby in there!!!! (And I much prefer the aches and pains to the nausea and exhaustion).

All sounds very exciting! I also wish we could afford me to go part time @lonelyonee however, I have the higher salary between me and my partner so it’s not really an option for us, money is already starting to stress me out thinking about mat leave!
16 week appointment is next week, I’m having a bit of a nightmare though as my dr’s and hospital are under separate hospital trusts and seem to be duplicating all of my appointments at the minute meaning I’m meant to be going for 2 next week, hoping to sort it at the appointments next week as it’s a bit of a pain!
Ladies I don’t know if any of you live near Wigan or stoke on Trent but I’ve had a shop recommended called ‘pramworld’. They have a website too and are apparently great for bundles and offers, I don’t live near either but thinking a road trip later in the year!

Eventrider1 · 13/10/2019 14:43

@lonelyonee I went to Rhodes for a week which was lovely. Got back this morning and unfortunately so did the sickness. It wasn't helped by the fact my FIL picked us up from the airport and his driving could make a season sailor seasick with how erratic he is, so I didn't stand a chance but luckily I had plenty of sick bags to last me the journey 🤮

lonelyonee · 13/10/2019 19:41

@jl2345 part time would be lovely but I doubt I'll be able to either! I feel you I had a complete breakdown about it but there's not much I can do other than save as much as I can now to help while on mat leave.
Ahh that's interesting I'm in the same position but they seem to have figured out the cross notes thing 🤷🏼‍♀️
For me stoke on Trent isn't THAT far, but is far enough so that I wouldn't be bothered to go but I am lucky enough to have my sister who is buying a travel system for me.

@Eventrider1 awww lovely! I am very very jealous! Oh nooo ☹️ hopefully it settles for you ASAP! Oh and I can only imagine with the driving, I get massively car sick when I'm a passenger so I try to drive everywhere myself if possible, which worries me with going to and from the hospital... 😩

Everyone getting little bumps now? I feel like mine is HUGE for how far along I am... but I did lose quite a bit of weight so I don't know whether that affects it but yeah! Also convinced I can feel baby move but not 100% sure on that just yet!

Hello! I had my 16 week appointment last week, all was good. Urine and bloods came back clear. The widowed was very impressed by my iron levels.
Yesterday I had my private 16 week scan. The baby wasn't in the right position so I had to go for a walk and a wiggle. Finally she was able to tell that we are having a baby girl!!!! 💗

eskimod · 16/10/2019 20:00

I meant midwife not widowed!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ fat fingers 😂

lonelyonee · 16/10/2019 20:15

Hey @eskimod !! Ahh great! I had mine this morning, same deal everything normal 🙂
Oh wow congratulations on your baby girl!!! 💖 hahahah fat fingers! That tickled me!

I'm getting impatient for my 20 week scan now, as we just can't fork out for a private scan at the minute ☹️ BUT feeling baby move so I'm still completely amazed by that!

OP posts:
eskimod · 16/10/2019 20:31

@lonelyonee I don't think I can feel her yet.
The sonography said my placenta was at the back and apparently this usually means you can feel it earlier but I'm not sure that I can yet. 🤞🏻 I'll feel her soon!

jl2345 · 16/10/2019 21:46

(I had to change my username, was jlo6308, I’m the same person :) ) That’s so exciting for you @eskimod, I’m still determined I’m not finding out, however I have no will power so who knows! I also had 16 week appointment this week (was 15+4) however slightly stressing as midwife couldn’t find the baby’s heartbeat with the Doppler. She tried for a couple of minutes then gave up. Luckily I have a hospital appointment on Friday so I’m going to ask them to listen again and if they Can’t find it request a scan as I can’t cope with waiting 4 weeks to know if everything is ok 🤞🏼 Bloods and urine all ok though as I haven’t heard otherwise so hoping for a positive outcome on Friday. Haven’t been this anxious/worried since early on :(

lonelyonee · 16/10/2019 22:30

@jl2345 please don't panic, my midwife didn't even try to hear heartbeat as it's so hard to find this early on. She told me we will do it next appointment and not to worry unless the usual concerns come up... bleeding extreme pain etc...
Baby will be fine it's very common to not hear it and many areas have stopped doing it exactly because of what's happening with you. Babies tend to sit quite far back sometimes so you just can't hear them.
@eskimod everyone's different, so I'm sure it'll start happening soon! I was questioning myself at first tbh but then I felt baby against my stomach (felt very hard when I poked) and then pretty much confirmed it when my stomach went squishy and soft again. This has happened twice now in the last few days in near enough the same place so I think I know what I'm looking for now feeling wise.
It's very very strange though!

OP posts:
eskimod · 17/10/2019 01:09

@jl2345 my midwife didn't even attempt to find it either because it's hard to find at this point. Try not to worry! I have a home dopla but I can't find it either. Saw it clearly in scan though.

jl2345 · 18/10/2019 17:57

They found the heartbeat today, such a relief!! I did have to turn into a bit of a neurotic pregnant lady though before they even went near the Doppler, think they understood that I couldn’t go for another 4 weeks after not hearing it. If she’d have never tried in the first place it wouldn’t have bothered me, but for her to try and not find it was hard to brush over. Even though the rational side of me knew they don’t always find it! I also have to take aspirin from now until baby arrives along with fortnightly growth scans from 28 weeks due to my dodgy bloods as there’s a risk of baby being small. Seeing the positive though that I’ll get to see much more of the baby ☺️ Hope you ladies are doing ok, anybody else feel like the weeks are flying by?

lonelyonee · 18/10/2019 21:36

@eskimod ooo really? Where did you get it from? Might look into that.
@jl2345 aww that's good at least your mind is at ease. Sorry to hear about bloods but like you said there's always a silver lining eh ☺️ yeah I feel like it's gone so fast already, BUT I'm literally dying for my 20 week scan... need to know the sex of baby so I can actually buy things. I know everyone else is waiting to buy things as well so it'll be quite exciting!!
Feeling baby move more now I know what I'm looking for, it's insane!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

OP posts:
eskimod · 19/10/2019 08:26

@lonelyonee it was my sisters and she gave it to me.
However she warned me not to get obsessed because it might stress me out not being able to find it. So I've only tried a couple of times and haven't stressed about it. I've also heard that some people rely on them to make sure baby is ok but they can produce inaccurate readings so you might think there's a healthy heart beat but actually it could be false. So if you're feeling movements, that's the best way of knowing all is okay. I think as long as you're not getting obsessed with it, it's nice to hear. I'm pretty chilled out about it x

lonelyonee · 22/10/2019 07:28

@eskimod ahh right that's lucky then! To be honest I'm not too fussed as I can feel baby moving around a lot so I'm confident baby is okay, although would be nice to hear that little heartbeat ☺️
Movements are getting stronger and more often for me now I am absolutely certain it's baby going crazy in there. Insane!

Think everyone else may have abandoned the thread... ☹️

OP posts:
Eventrider1 · 22/10/2019 08:45

@lonelyonee I'm still here and keeping an eye on the thread!

Not much to report from my end really. Private scan last weekend confirmed it is a girl 😊 20 week scan isn't until the 8th of November so a little while to wait yet. Still feeling movements everyday which is good, convinced it is trying to kick its way out sometimes.
Sickness has pretty much completely gone now, thank god! Don't think I could have taken any more.

lonelyonee · 22/10/2019 14:27

Heyyyyyy @Eventrider1 🙂 aww that's great, your scan is 2 days after mine!
We couldn't afford a private scan so we're just having to wait and I'm getting very impatient now 😂 I just wanna know what we're having! Congrats on baby girl btw 🙂
Haha I said the same thing, I'm being beaten alive from the inside at the moment 😂 it's so crazy isn't it.
Yay so no more shitty symptoms! Although random sharp pains aren't too fun either but I'll take this over the nausea any day! & no one seems to realise how bad it is do they, which is annoying 🙄
Hey ho we're in "the nice part" now so nothing to do but enjoy watching our bumps grow!! ☺️

OP posts:
eskimod · 22/10/2019 17:12

@lonelyonee aw I hope they haven't abandoned and check in later. I love hearing how everyone is getting on. Did someone make a Facebook group for this thread. There was talk of one on one of the threads I was following but that was early on and I didn't want to join until I was further on in my pregnancy. I'm ready for that now.
I think I can sometimes feel a slight movement but still not 100%. I wish it was totally obvious for me!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 it comes soon!
Aw @Eventrider1 im also having a girl! How lovely!
I rarely feel sick now but still have the odd moment. I've had bad back ache the last week though. I had to ring in sick because of it today 😞

jl2345 · 22/10/2019 17:43

Congrats on the gender news @eskimod, I’m still adamant we’re not finding out, but I have no will power so who knows 🤦‍♀️ @lonelyonee what do your movements feel like? I’m absolutely sure I’ve started to feel baby these past few days. I have a really bad cold and sometimes when I cough I get a swishing feeling in the bottom part of my tummy as if the baby is turning. Also get it sometimes laid on my side at night. Just wondering as it’s not the typical ‘bubbles’ that people say they get initially :)

lonelyonee · 22/10/2019 19:23

@eskimod aww no! I've suffered with back pain for a long time on and off so I'm not sure whether I've actually got any real pain going on I think I'm oblivious to it by now 😂 I'm getting random shooting pains and little aches here and there around bump and groin area.
Not sure about the group think it was in another thread somewhere but I just couldn't keep up with the volume of posts in those ones, hence why I made this.
Everyone's different regarding movements, I'm sure I've felt mine early because of the weight I lost in the first trimester making everything all in a compact space but I could be chatting out my arse there 😂 it'll only get stronger and more often so you'll know for sure soon enough! Exciting ☺️
Hope you feel better & up to going into work soon x

@jl2345 it's really hard to explain tbh! I wouldn't say it's like bubbles or flutters either! It's very strange, I defo wasn't too sure at first but now I know there's no mistaking it with how strong they are. It's more of the feeling of when you're stomach is rumbling maybe? Or an empty gassy stomach? It happens way more when lying down still (so early in the morning or at night in bed). Also feel for a full ish heavy feeling in certain areas... I felt that touched my bump and it was rock hard... baby was right up against my skin... I poked and baby went back in & stomach went back to being "squishy". But now I'm feeling a lot more and what feels occasionally like proper kicks too which is insane!!!
Have a feel and let us know what you discover 🙂

Hi everyone. I'm 24, have an 27 month old little boy and am due another little boy on the 22nd March 😁😁 I am sooo struggling this time round I feel 10x huger than before and feel as though I want to curl up and sleep for the next 5 months until it's time to give birth 😭🤣

lonelyonee · 29/10/2019 18:02

The thread is dead! 😭😭😭

Although tbf @Paigeo the thread didn't change colour like it should if there's a post... (welcome btw, maybe you can share some wisdom with us first timers).
I just randomly thought I'd check in see how everyone's doing!!!

At the moment I am eagerly anticipating my 20 week scan which is next Wednesday... actually counting down the days because I'm so desperate to A. Make sure baba is all good and developing well! B. See baba on the screen again & C. Find out what we're having!!!!
Actually feeling really amazed that I am growing a little human inside me... I just can't get my head around it, especially since I'm getting bigger and it's more noticeable now! ☺️☺️☺️
