MRSS CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to Albie ( fab name) He is so cute!

Also great pictures and Birth Stories from Conker, Banana and Babymad!

Well nothing here, still all quiet, Had a quiet day yesterday, soreness and swelling is still here but managing to live with it! Midwife coming on Wednesday so feel like it got to be over soon! longest i have is 19 days so lets just try and get through them! got a bit panicky yesterday as Baby was really quiet, but in true style he was doing excersises and kicking me in the ribs from 8- 10 - i just wont the worrying to stop! then i will worry when he is here!

Hope eveyone is well and hoping for more Births soon!! xx

growingbagpuss · 13/08/2007 08:36

MrsS -is there some queue jumping going on? Or are you just one of the lucky "early" ones - CONGRATULATIONS!!

Well - I did think perhaps the hormones were kicking in yesterday and in the evening I was getting out the midwife phone numbers and everything.... all very exciting..... but... guess what..... all bloody gone off again now. Fecking baby. Still tightening, so hopefully it might kick in after DS and I go shopping this morning.

DH offered to stay home today (unpaid leave, I nearly fell off my chair) - and I just burst into tears and saud "what, so you can watch me NOT go into labour?". He suggested to me that I might need more rest... MORE???? I can't do anything!! More rest???!!! I want a bloody baby! Grrrrrr

.....changingname to veryfatandgrumpybagpuss

bananabump · 13/08/2007 08:43

Oooh, congratulations mrsshuvel, sounds like we were labouring the same day! Welcome to little albie, how are you feeling?

Uki, you're so right about bf pain. The first ten seconds or so are very painful but then it eases, (UNLESS they've clamped down badly which J sometimes does and then pulls up horrible blisters) mine are acutely sore right now and he's virtually feeding every 90 min so there's perpetually a lot of cursing in chez banana right now!

Can't believe all the probs you're having with your dp and your parents, it's none of their business what you decide to call your baby. I think you're right to ignore them, maybe they'll realise how much they've upset you and stop acting like that. Stay strong though, you don't need their approval, you haven't done anything wrong!

stretchmarks · 13/08/2007 08:45

Morning all,

Congratulations MrsS what a fab name. Well I'm 41+2 now and still no baby.Had some pains again over the last 24 hours but been there before so not holding out too much. Just trying to keep myself busy now for the next few days have spent far too long waiting for this one to arrive so we have decided to take DS1 off to the zoo today.

bananabump · 13/08/2007 08:48

Oh bagpuss, you don't half sound like I did a week ago! I was so fed up and frustrated at the stop-starting. I ended up having a bit of a meltdown with dp and asking him to stay home with me, then asking him if he actually wanted the baby, mid-sob! It's SUCH a lot of tension to carry around, you might find that things progress quickly after a big bout of tears as it relieves some pressure!

I have my fingers crossed that it won't be long for you now, love. This will all be a distant memory in a few days.

bananabump · 13/08/2007 08:51

Ditto for you too, stretchmarks. Have a great day at the zoo but don't overdo it, and don't ignore any pain/tightening/backache for too long if you get any... you don't wanna end up pushing baby out in the alligator house!

GillL · 13/08/2007 08:52

Congratulations MrsS. I had wondered. Such a cute baby. Hope you're both doing well.

Glad you're feeling a bit better pink.

Sorry to hear you're still waiting bagpuss. You sound sooooooo fed up.

I've got another week to go and I'm starting to feel really uncomfortable. I'm trying to keep up with all the cleaning etc but it's really hard work and makes my back ache just to do 10 minutes of washing up.

Got to do the food shopping this morning and then I'm starting my week in. Might go on a couple of short walks if the weather is ok (forecast rain for most of the week). Dd will be out for 2 days so at least I'll get some rest.

Hope to catch up later.

stretchmarks · 13/08/2007 08:59

Banana - I was hoping maybe some animal smells may set me off I've tried just about everything else.

I'll have my very own midwife on hand with me all day as SIL is currently staying with us. I know I want a nice natural labour but wasn't planning on giving birth with the chimps

growingbagpuss · 13/08/2007 09:08

Stretchmarks -sorry hun - I think you and me are the stragglers at the moment -I'm 41wks today. DS was born almost exactly a week late.... and to be honest, I remember nothign special about the day he was born - so you never know. I know my luck - we have severe winds forecast for tomorrow -we'll have a power cut and then I won't be able to have a homebirth!! .... see.. the sense of humour bypass is not quite complete!!

Also.... I had a nice bath late last night thinking, roll on labour. I had dried my hair really nicely in the morning, and if course it went frizzy in the bath. Worried? No -I figured I was in labour. Oh bugger - got frizzy hair today now... just to add to my woes!!

Pengy · 13/08/2007 09:36

Morning all. Another week starts... All the days seem to run into each other at the moment and this from someone who still has a week and a half to go.

Congratulations MrsS, Albie looks just lovely

MIL last night volunteered they'd be clearing out shortly after baby is born to holiday elsewhere to give us time together when DH off work so feeling very relieved. Just need to set DH up with tasks I'll be expecting him to take control of

Annie75 · 13/08/2007 09:37

Hello Blimey, so many of you have been having your babies over the last week! I'm going to try and read the posts and have a catch up now. But in the meantime big congrats

Well, so much for my natural birth. Just got back from a week's stay at Hotel Hospital. To cut a long story short, was in labour, dilated to nearly full, then breech baby wouldn't descend and ended up with a c section. Little Nell was a wincy 6lb 1, but has since piled on 7 oz . Then, just as we were about to be released, they worried she had an infection and the little dab was put on i/v drips for days. It was horrible to watch and in the event she was fine and they couldn't spot any probs.

Finally home last night. Nell is gorgeous and I'm smitten and knackered. Could so use all your advice re various things - it's bloody scary being a new mum, isn't it? x

tokentotty · 13/08/2007 09:41

Hey Annie, so pleased to hear from you, we were all getting a little bit worried there. Congratulations on little Nell !! Can't wait to see some pics.

MrsBadger · 13/08/2007 10:00

hey Annie - congratulations on Little Nell!

(now to catch up with the rest of the suddenly-enormous thread...)

Hersetta · 13/08/2007 10:46

Annie,

congratulations on the arrival of Nell. Though you must have had a CS as we hadn't heard from you for so long.

Congrats also to Mrs S on the arrival of Albie.

It's now 10 days till my CS and I am officially bricking it. Stress must be affecting DH a well as we had a full screaming match in the garden yesterday afternoon over nothing basically. Cue many tears from hormonal pregnant woman and us not speaking for the rest of the day. Things fine today but I could really have done without it. Sounds like theres a lot of it around at the moment.

itchyncsratchy · 13/08/2007 11:14

congratulations Annie - Nell is such a cute name, can't wait to see photos. How are you feeling? If you have time to give some details re: c-section I'd appreciate it, mine is booked for friday.

MrsS- Albie is gorgeous and such a fab name too.

Uki - just want to join in with support, don't stand for any nonsense!

GrowingB- sorry your feeling grumpy, I've had my days like that. Try to do something nice for you that you won't have time for very soon. Failing that there's chocolate/ cakes and online shopping!

The Amby hammock arrived today and a 'miracle blanket' swaddling thing, dp got very excited - it was assembled within 10 mins!

growingbagpuss · 13/08/2007 11:25

Hurrah Annie -we were worried about you! Sorry it turned into an extended stay -but pleased you are home with your dear little Nell... gosh.... babies arriving all the time... shouldn't be suprised I suppose - this is an antenatal thread!!!!!

just been shopping with DS who threw a big tantrum, refused to walk nicely and ended up being man handled into the toddler seat in the trolley. Cue lots of screaming and tears - but I'm impressed I managed to get him in it (he's not small) without injuringmyself.

Stocked up on supplies of ice cream. S'burys had run out of my fav' ice lollies which was a shame, as I snack on those at night... never mind... ice cream will have to do instead!!

Uki · 13/08/2007 12:19

CONGRATULATIONS Mrs S, Welcome little Albie, what a cute little fella you have there
Sorry I missed your post before.

ANNIE- CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome Nell, cute name sorry to hear about c/s but glad your both well now Ask away, if you need too.

I had my first hospital monitoring today, at least i'll get to know all the midwives, really hate hospitals though, wish i could have home birth. Baby HB was beating away, so that's good. this baby really doesn't move as much as ds though. BP just hanging on the boarder but had headache all day.
Am I the only one that hasn't had any braxton hics????
seems like this LO is quite snuggly and would happily stay put another month

Trinaj · 13/08/2007 12:45

Congratulations all.
I know I'm officially a queue jumper but it looks like it's all go again - 3rd or is it 4th or 5th(?)time lucky?
Anyway been having pains - completely different to before - not like braxton hicks - on and off since this morning. Last night I popped to shops, and hopped up and down impatiently waiting to be served - I couldn't keep still!
Not getting too hopeful though as it's now been nearly 3 weeks since I thought it was all starting first time.
But if it does all happen today and I have it tomorrow, my sis is going to strop BIG time! - it's my nephew's birthday, and all I've heard since being pg is how it CAN'T be born on 14th - cos of course we planned it like that! . Is really p*ing me off and if it does happen I don't know how I'm going to tell her!

boobooma · 13/08/2007 13:25

Annie and Mrs S, CONGRATULATIONS, great news of little ones. Trinaj hope its all go for you.

Uki, I havent noticed any braxton hicks either, get a bit of a tightening sometimes but no sensation whatsoever. Mind you, after my waters broke last time, i was getting contractions and didn't believe midwife until she hooked me up to a monitor which showed a huge surge in whatever it is every so often. And that carried on for a few hours til I could feel anything. Maybe I've got a high pain threshold .

BabyMadandBIGbump · 13/08/2007 15:32

Hi ladies,

I've posted my birth story!
www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1370&threadid=370938&stamp=070813152952

Congratulations ladies well done!

Babymadxx

Trinaj · 13/08/2007 15:33

I've been walking about most of the day, and getting pains every 5 - 10 mins - and chronic back ache, but now I've sat down they've slowed again.
Don't want it to go away this time it really feels different!

lovelybird · 13/08/2007 16:33

Due Date for me today - woke in the night needing a wee and had sharp pains in my bump, but think it may just have been the way I was lying. Nothing since. DS was born a couple of days after due date so hoping it will be this week.
Congrats to the new arrivals - looking forward to reading your birth stories.

Trinaj · 13/08/2007 17:51

Still going!
Can't believe this may really be it this time!
Have tried to rest with no luck - neighbours started banging and drilling new extension!
Have had dinner and got rid of kids, all ready to get a move on!!

growingbagpuss · 13/08/2007 17:51

TrinaJ - I know exactly what you mean - I had such bad ones last night that although I went back to bed, I left all the lights on downstairs, as I was fully expecting to end up down there -midwife numbers at the ready!! when I woke up 4 hrs later, the pains had gone... it is tempting not to go back to bed - to try and encourage them to develop into proper labour !! Sadly the call of my duvet is too strong!

growingbagpuss · 13/08/2007 17:53

Crossed posts - - but good luck! Not sure why, but I have resigned myself to being induced... odd isn't it? Still got a week before they'll do it, i just feel like it is my fate.

Labour well Trina
