Has anyone had a section previously and is now experiencing like a pulling sensation? I don't know if that's normal or if I have to worry.
I'm planning a VBAC.

iano · 15/07/2019 22:05

Sorry that wasn't very clear. I mean a pulling sensation in the section scar.

Stroan · 15/07/2019 22:18

Wow @kyles101 so assertive, well done! And definitely the right approach.

@dustydoorframes I am SO desperate not to buy more but really struggling with jeans. Just 5 days in the office to manage and then I can hopefully slob about in what I have for the start of mat leave.

I'm having a bit of a worrying GD spell. Woke up on Sun morning in hypo and readings have been very low since. Dropped my insulin by 10% last night (no formal advice so just made a judgement call) and still had a low fasting level this morning.

I called my diabetic team this morning and they agreed I had done the right thing but also said they would be concerned at having to drop insulin by that much to bring the numbers up. I'm tolerating way more carbs than I was before and really shouldn't be! Thankfully have the consultant in the morning, the team tend to not be very concerned about anything so if they are worried, I am definitely worried.

Stroan · 15/07/2019 22:20

@iano I don't have a C-section scar but I am getting loads of pulling sensations really low down. Is it definitely the scar or could it be behind it, does that make sense?

DustyDoorframes · 15/07/2019 22:25

@Stroan that sounds weird and a bit scary with the GD! V glad you are seeing them tomorrow!
Jeans, yes. All a bit hopeless- overbump is not really working for me any more (I need to size up...), and I never have hips even when non pregnant so under the bump just falls down. I'm not bothering addressing that one til I get back though. And all my t-shirts that still fit are getting stains from the bottom of my bump getting involved in cooking/washing up... I normally quite like clothes!

Whisky2014 · 15/07/2019 22:29

@BBell2

Does anyone have sore boobs? I've a pain point like a blocked duct

Yep. I have sharp stabby pains in my right boob. I'm sure it's going to end in mastitis.
No crave to feed baby though!

Whisky2014 · 15/07/2019 22:30

Fucking hell @Megan2018 It's all gone Pete tong for you. Feel bad for you. But don't worry, everything will be ok in the end.

Karigan195 · 15/07/2019 22:32

The next 5 weeks need to pass super quickly. The hormones have made my psoriasis flare up some I’m getting covered in patches as well as looking like a beached whale. Not fun at all.

Whisky2014 · 15/07/2019 22:40

Oh no, karigan195. Can you take stuff for that or pile on creams?

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/07/2019 22:42

Ah the never ending glamour of pregnancy! Funny how people like Mrs Hinch and the girls of TOWIE dont document this shit on instagram!

Megan2018 · 15/07/2019 22:50

@Karigan195 funnily enough I’ve had an eczema flare this last few days. Rarely get it at all as an adult (unless I react to products), but I’ve got patches all over that itch like mad, especially on wrists and hands.
I was blaming it on the extra dairy I’m having with the GD.

Megan2018 · 15/07/2019 23:00

DH is chasing Sky and John Lewis as both in his name, but LABC/builder and windscreen they won’t liaise with him.
Even the things DH doing though will play on my mind until sorted as my anxious control freak side will still own the issue regardless Blush.

DH will get my rental listed and try to manage the viewings. We do it ourselves as we had shocking tenants when we used an agent and ended up £1000’s out of pocket when they did a runner. I’m just shitting it that we get someone to have no gap as can’t cover the bills for it empty on mat leave. Things are so, so tight at the moment. Last time we had 90 enquiries in 24hrs but the market not as good just now. I can afford to reduce rent a bit but was relying on having £4k out of it over the 12 months I’m off to top up our deficit. Timing is just shite.

kyles101 · 15/07/2019 23:01

Well done for managing that @Stroan - it's the bit that scares me about gd actually, having to manage medication levels if need be. Sounds like you've done the right thing though and hopefully they'll get you on the right track tomorrow.

Stroan · 15/07/2019 23:06

Being pregnant in summer is a whole other level of glamour. It should come with a warning.

I've taken to sitting on the sofa in just my bra and pants, then having a cold shower before bed. DH is a lucky, lucky man.

@dustydoorframes same here, no hips so jeans are always tricky. I've managed with one pair of Over-bump ones but I'm finding them so uncomfortable in the heat. Which only leaves dresses or leggings and long tops as acceptable, public outfits!

I am slightly freaked out. Levels are supposed be be harder to control at this point. They can get easier towards the end of pregnancy, but that can be a sign of placenta degradation. All cheery thoughts.

Just had a chat with DH about working the weekend and bringing mat leave forward by a day or so. I finish next week but REALLY do not want any possibility of leaving them in the lurch.

Stroan · 15/07/2019 23:08

@kyles101 it's really easy normally, very clear rules on how to increase until you find the magic number. No guidance whatsoever on when your body suddenly sorts it's shit out and your blood sugars go low.

Moraxella · 16/07/2019 00:01

Anyone else gone for the amazon prime cabriofix car seat?

iano · 16/07/2019 06:21

@Stroan yes it's definitely the scar. It's very localised. Im not sure whether I should I tell the MW...

happydays00 · 16/07/2019 06:30

@Megan2018 you poor thing! It never rains, it only pour hey?! Hope you're doing ok and things get sorted ASAP for you - you don't need this stress and anxiety!

Saw the consultant yesterday (after another growth scan and spending 1.5 hours being monitored as was having loads of contractions again and baby's heart rate was too high), she's booked my c section for 21st August (at 38 weeks) but not convinced I'll get that far. She said that these "tightenings" will turn into labour - it's just a matter of time. 32+2 today and baby estimated at 4lb 5oz - desperate to try and get to 35 weeks at least if I can!!

@iano that sounds odd with your scar, could it be baby pressing on nerves? Either way, definitely worth asking someone.

@Stroan this sounds very scary for you - hope the consultant can help sort today!

Is anyone else struggling with rib pain?! Mine are so sore, was told yesterday that baby's buns and feet are up here but ouch! Sometimes I get a weird pins and needles feeling around the bottom of my rib cage too, it's unpleasant to say the least!

Karigan195 · 16/07/2019 07:04

@Whisky2014 I’m only allowed to use the pretty useless cream so it’s slowly getting worse and worse. I need a uv bed or enstillar to kill it but not allowed to use either right now :(.

Karigan195 · 16/07/2019 07:06

@happydays00 my app said rib pain is common at this stage but should ease around 36 weeks when baby drops

Morning all. Sorry to hear those of you suffering with skin flares and life woes. Absolutely stinking cold here, painful sinuses and feeling v v miserable. Decided to take a very rare sick day for me and DH is taking DD to nursery, but DH has just reminded me we have a viewing at 10:30, so will have to scrape myself out of bed at some point to make the house look more presentable and disappear off somewhere for an hour 😩

boodles101 · 16/07/2019 07:28

happydays yes to the rib pain. Twin 1 is living in my rib cage at the minute. It's so uncomfortable to lay down. I also get the pins and needles type feeling.
Im confused about how she is still the presenting twin (first out) as she's the smaller one but she's so far up into my ribs, I don't understand how he can't be lower at the point! Suppose I'll find out on Friday if they he's taken over.

KnobJockey · 16/07/2019 08:04

Moraxella yes, there's a few of us- it was a good price wasn't it? Also the fire stick, got to have your priorities right for maternity leave!

Happy days, that's scary! Is the baby doing okay? He/she sounds a good weight. Very scary to think that your baby will be here in a maximum of 5 weeks!

happydays00 · 16/07/2019 10:35

@KnobJockey I also got another fire stick and a gro egg. Excellent prices!

Baby seems to be doing well (despite all the drama he is causing me!) so fingers crossed growth etc all continues as it has been!

@boodles101 I can't imagine how uncomfortable you are! I was told there is baby's bottom and knees/feet wedged under my ribs - I have a really short torso and can't imagine he will be going anywhere any time soon to give me any relief.

db92 · 16/07/2019 10:58

Oh the rib pain! I have a head wedged firmly into my ribs with no chance of it moving before he arrives. Luckily when I lay down I get a bit of relief but feel for those who have wriggly little feet up there
