Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

Good afternoon Everyone,
Haven't posted much as I was using Netmums but its been down for over a week now.
There is also a secret FB group that I am on for the Due March 2020.
So I am giving this one a go if thats OK?
So I am due 9th March 2020 going off my period dates.
I had a scan 2 weeks ago as suspected ectopic but its in the right place and pain has gone. Their procedure is to have another one 2 weeks later if even everything is as it should be. So that scan is in the morning and i have felt great the past few days so now I am worrying that the scan tomorrow will be bad news.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 24/07/2019 15:44

Fingers crossed for you @StaceyH85 - it's such a horrible time waiting for scans isn't it! I wish I hadn't found out I was pregnant, I feel like every day is dragging!

I had my second early scan today (first one was too early to see HB) saw its little flicker today though so feel like it's really real now 😱

It definitely made it feel more real @maybenextmonth. I've not had strong symptoms so apart from the spotting (which is hardly an encouraging sign) and positive tests I was relieved to see I actually am pregnant!!

I think I bamboozled the midwife into referring me for an early scan. She kept saying that because the test said 3+ weeks then I was 3 weeks pregnant and to cal back at six weeks (which I thought I was). After a lot of confusing back and forth she said I should get an early dating scan and then cal her back... I left her a vm on Monday but still not heard back 🤨 maybe I upset her... she said she wanted to see me at 8 weeks and I'm now 7+2 so she needs to call back!

Hi @StaceyH85 😊 sorry to hear about the ectopic scare but glad the scan showed everything was ok. I think we have the same due date at the moment - the scan on Monday said I'd be due 9th March but that might change at the next scan which can apparently be more accurate at dating

blondie87 · 24/07/2019 19:45

Welcome to all the new comers! I’m relieved to see there are a few other 3rd time mums! I’m excited but a bit nervous to have three children of all goes to plan!

barnyb · 24/07/2019 20:36

@caffeinebuzz I'm at the time now where it could all go south for me too. Iv got another scan on Friday so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

caffeinebuzz · 24/07/2019 23:51

@barnyb Yes, it's hard to balance the anxiety of it happening again with also not getting our hopes up too much in case it does. Fingers crossed this will be a sticky one for both of us!

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 25/07/2019 01:17

I can't sleep. It's too warm.
Can I have the details to be added to the Facebook group please?

I need to book in with the MW tomorrow. Hopefully I can get in fast as I'll be 8 weeks on Sunday.

AlphaLemon · 25/07/2019 04:34

Hi all!
I signed up to mumsnet just so that I can join this forum! First child due 03 March 2020!
How’s everyone been dealing with symptoms? I was so sick and exhausted, I ended up calling in yesterday and telling my bosses so that I could take a sick day! I thought I’d be someone who could breeze through it, but between insomnia and then normal exhaustion with sickness on top I’ve had no such luck!

Rumi1 · 25/07/2019 05:35

@barnyb I'm also scanning on Friday - and like you it could go either way ... last week I was not measuring to my LMP dates - I then had to wait for 1 week to rescan ( I should be circa 8/9 weeks now )

But we'll see ...

barnyb · 25/07/2019 08:20

@Rumi1 what did the scan show when you had one ?! Did you see heart beat? I should be 8 weeks and 1 day on Friday. Iv had very bad symptoms the last few weeks. However this week they aren't that bad at all. Which has worried me somewhat. how about you! Xxx

Rumi1 · 25/07/2019 08:55

@barnyb I've only had nausea really . Scan showed what they believed was 5 /6 week old developing pregnancy with low fetal heart rate

the sonographer said it Wasn't clear

I've been experiencing cramps etc and miscarried last year so thats what prompted a scan in the first place .

So I could have ovulated a lot later which has caused confusion with dates

But we'll see

Positive vibes all round x

barnyb · 25/07/2019 09:08

@Rumi1 ok I see what you mean now. Ok well let's just get today out the way and then tomorrow we will know a little more 🤞🏼 it's soooo stressful xxxxx

Frillyfarmer · 25/07/2019 09:37

Good luck @Rumi1 and @barnyb for your scans tomorrow. These early weeks are so hard after previous losses. I'm on the graduates thread and it's really a fantastic supportive thread for pregnant ladies who have been through losses.

I sometimes feel as though MN can make my anxieties worse - reading about other people's worries and stresses seems to add to my list of things to worry about.

I'm 8+5 today and rough as a dog, I've already been sick in the work loos this morning and I'm out at a site meeting this afternoon in the raging heat. I'm grateful for all of my symptoms as they're somewhat reassuring! Contemplating booking another scan for around 10/11 weeks.

AlphaLemon · 25/07/2019 09:38

Hope you ladies are all okay and everything comes back as you hoped Flowers

barnyb · 25/07/2019 10:11

@Frillyfarmer thank you! yes it's really difficult because you just can't ever imagine getting past this scary bit.
Oh bless you that's great that you have all the symptoms and the sickness! Even though you must feel soooo terrible. Yes I think if all ok tomorrow il deffo be having another one before 12 week scan. maybe at 10 weeks. Xxx

maybenextmonth · 25/07/2019 13:15

Welcome @AlphaLemon, and congratulations.

I feel the same, I always thought this would be manageable and the worst would be to come but I'm struggling with fatigue and nausea. I am continuing to try and exercise but yesterday I came over all light headed, way worse than I've normally had. And am just finding I have to really slow down with everything. It's a struggle but hopefully it's all a good sign.

Are you back in work today? Were they understanding?

AlphaLemon · 25/07/2019 14:44

@maybenextmonth they were so understanding I almost cried! Basically told me that I come before the job and to take any sick leave I need, I work flexi and they said I can go into debit if needed to. I’m lucky I work in a large civil service department, but above that they were way more lovely than they needed to be.

maybenextmonth · 25/07/2019 16:06

@AlphaLemon that's really good, it would be so difficult if you were made to feel bad every time you felt unwell. My work don't know yet, I'm hoping I can keep it under wraps for some time yet!

mangobutter · 25/07/2019 21:53

To those struggling - when pregnant with my son I remember thinking how I was going to be a superwoman pregnant person and just crack on as if nothing had changed. Then from about 8 weeks I felt just awful - sick, exhausted, constantly nearly fainting, shaky etc etc. I ended up in the work sick room on multiple occasions crying because I felt so pathetic. I didn't realise how hard the first trimester can be. You need to remember how much your body is doing right now and look after yourself! I'm finding its much easier for me the second time round, perhaps because my body's used to it and almost certainly because I'm already knackered Wink (but also much fitter and healthier than I was then)

mangobutter · 25/07/2019 21:54

Oh and I felt much better from about 16 weeks (until the last 2 months when it got hard again)!

Frillyfarmer · 25/07/2019 23:13

Oh gosh @mangobutter I'm the opposite! I had the easiest first trimester with my first and thought all the morning sickers we're exaggerating as I only felt mildly off on occasions. This time round I am completely flawed by the sickness and the tiredness. The toddler isn't helping the tiredness one bit!

Rightnow1245 · 26/07/2019 08:34

Good luck for your scans today ladies got my FX for you all 😊😊

Cocomad I’m sure your midwife will talk through your options and you can tell them all your concerns and they will advise you what the best thing to do is. I’m guessing you will be high risk like me now? Is everyone high risk after CS?

Kimberlily I also thought it may be a good idea to sit out in the sun 🌞 but decided against it because I was feeling so rough already 😬

How is everyone feeling today?

barnyb · 26/07/2019 09:20

Hello girls! I just had my second scan ! And I'm 8 weeks and 2 days today. so actually I'm due 4th March now not the 5th :) xxxx

caffeinebuzz · 26/07/2019 11:57

@barnyb That's wonderful news! Glad it all went well.

@mangobutter @Frillyfarmer I had a terrible time with DD, and remember trying to soldier on because all the other pregnant ladies do. Ended up making myself very unwell with a spell of bed rest. It was only when I started attending ante-natal classes and then meeting mum's after the birth did we share pregnancy experiences and I realized that a lot of those who seemed to be coping so well simply weren't having such bad symptoms. I'm really going to try and listen to my body this time.
