Something about the shape on the yoyo looks wrong to me but cant quite say what it is

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 20:12

megan perhaps point out to him you cannot bring baby home from hospital on a table ...

Florencenotflo · 15/06/2019 20:31

I saw someone with a yo yo on holiday and really liked it. But DH is not budging, we have an immaculate pram/travel system from Dd who is only 3 it would be daft to sell it and buy a new one.

Especially as the dishwasher broke this week so had to be replaced (£350 - stupid slimline integrated shit thing). Then... my over broke! Element and fan motor! £200. So we are well and truly skint!

Thankfully we probably have everything now. We've got all DD's hand me downs, I just need to dig them all out and get them washed. Tuesday is furniture moving/building day. It finally feels like everything is coming together. 36 weeks is my cut off. I want everything moved, built, washed and put away, hosp bag packed etc because I am doing jack shit after 36 weeks 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 20:33

The trick is to sell your pram when your dc outgrows it and then you have reason to get a new one for a new baby Blush yes i have issues

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 15/06/2019 20:38

@happytobemrsg we have a yo-yo and absolutely love it (we also have a travel system which we used a lot when DD was little but not so much now). Bought the new bag the other day and I’m so excited to try it out tomorrow at the airport! I’ve packed it tonight and it holds a lot 👌🏻

Florencenotflo · 15/06/2019 21:07

@IVEgottheDECAF damn it... too late for that now!

The chassis is in the shed, so there is a small chance it could have been damaged. But DH is so careful with stuff I doubt that it would have been! The carrycot and seat are in the spare room so I know they are fine.

Florencenotflo · 15/06/2019 21:10

Although we will need a new stroller in about a years time, DD's umbrella stroller is knackered, we've definitely had our money's worth out of that!

happytobemrsg · 15/06/2019 21:47

So glad you think it’s good Bridget!! Let me know what you think of the bag.

Megan your DH sounds so frustrating. I’ve also been struggling to get DH to agree to do the nursery as we have been focusing on other renovations. But finally he’s come on board today & I've fine a flurry of buying & booked the painter before he could change his mind.

happytobemrsg · 15/06/2019 22:11

So we have decided to move DS into the bigger spare room (old master bedroom) so DS2-to-be can have the already set up nursery. So instead of creating a lovely woodland nursery I’m going to create a fun little boys room for DS1. Going with a cool trains theme I think. A couple of my inspiration pics attached.

I've pretty much just chosen and bought all the baby things myself, and the stuff for the new house, much easier like that!

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 22:19

I agree easter! I dont often ask dps opinion because he tends not to have one on these things!

TheCraicDealer · 16/06/2019 02:06

I'm going to get the ant when it comes out in retailers other than JL. Have some birthday money from last year that I'd hidden (wtf like an old woman stashing shit under the floorboards) and forgotten about, plus I won a £100 shopping centre voucher in a raffle in January which I can use in Mamas & Papas. We fly to see DH's parents quite frequently so wanted a travel/spare pram anyway, but the France trip made us realise a super compact plane & tiny restaurant friendly one would be handy. It's £40 more than the yo-yo but has a higher weight limit, an adjustable handlebar, reversible seat and is suitable from newborn without any added kit. Figure even if we don't get on with it Bugaboos always have good resale anyway.

Florencenotflo · 16/06/2019 08:04

Has anyone noticed any good pregnancy side effects? My hair doesn't need washing nearly half as much. Pre pregnancy I had to wash it every day without fail. I could get away with a bit of dry shampoo if I was just nipping to Tesco but really it needed washing daily. I washed my hair Wednesday and it still looks amazing today!

And my leg hair isn't growing (weird). Shaved my armpits in the shower last night, thought I'd better do my legs too, there is minimal stubble and I last did them on holiday last month! It's freaked me out a bit 😂 it will come in handy when I can no longer reach my legs to shave them.

Never mind the fact I open the shower door with my arse now when I bend over in the shower 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 08:21

florence are you having a girl? I have 1 dd and this is my fourth baby boy. With my dd i noticed lack of leg hair.

Florencenotflo · 16/06/2019 08:28

Yes @IVEgottheDECAF another girl here. I didn't notice it when I was pregnant with dd though! Is it quite a common thing? Not complaining!

happytobemrsg · 16/06/2019 08:53

If anything I have a really furry tummy and my arm hairs are really long! Weirdly I’m dark haired but all this extra hair is blonde 🤷‍♀️

Megan2018 · 16/06/2019 09:16

My hairdresser said yesterday that my hair is even thicker than usual (it was already very thick) and I have the same that it needs washing much less often.
No change to leg hair though sadly, still growing and my tummy is also a little fuzzy! Girl here.

TheCraicDealer · 16/06/2019 09:21

A colleague mentioned my hair looked thicker the other day, could've kissed her. My eyebrows need waxed less as well! I'm not complaining. Think DSis mentioned that you hang onto the hair on your head more but the rate your body hair grows at slows? Maybe because your core temp is higher during pregnancy so you don't need fuzzy legs and armpits to keep warm, or to trap your natural scent to attract a mate Grin

I woke Friday and last night in the middle of the night and when I turned I had a very sharp pain in my pelvis right at the front, in the centre. Fine on getting up but really hoping this isn't the start of anything more SPD-like.

TwittleBee · 16/06/2019 09:25

Hair is everywhere on me! I'm positively fuzzy everywhere, which was the same with previous pregnancies too.

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 09:36

Ah i only noticed it in my girl pregnancy! In all others my body hair has grown as usual. I dont get the furry thing going on though!

stormtrooperjulian · 16/06/2019 09:41

My leg and armpit hair growth has slowed down loads - I’m expecting a boy. My hair is also getting thicker, normally I shed so much hair on a daily basis I’m surprised I don’t go bald but I’m shedding way less at the moment. Slightly worried about how bad it will look when it all comes out at once after the birth 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 09:48

Fwiw i have never experienced dramatic hair loss post birth either!

DustyDoorframes · 16/06/2019 13:27

@Florencenotflo if you go carefully you can maybe hang on to some of the less-frequent washing- if I wash mine often I have to wash it daily, but if I wash it every 4-5 days it's fine ((7-8 at the moment! I keep suddenly realising it's been yonks!). If I go every 4 or more often it gets into a slippery slope and it's daily.

boodles101 · 16/06/2019 13:36

I have a furry belly but leg hair growth has slowed down. I'm usually very dark hair, rapid hair growth but it's nowhere near as bad. Which is great seeing as I can't actually reach to shave my legs!
My belly is starting to itch now where it's being stretched, especially around my belly button!

Stroan · 16/06/2019 13:54

I definitely noticed less leg hair growth with DD, no such luck this time. And my hair is greasy a day after washing, but thicker than normal.

Good side effects?! Maybe some will start soon!
