I haven't noticed any change to hair growth or hair thickness. Maybe slightly less greasy than normal though so I'm washing every 2nd day rather than daily.

I have thrown my back out again. Just as I moved my body to get comfy on the bed last night.
I've cried this morning as feeling frustrated with husband. He stayed in bed until 1pm just watching tv on his phone yet I see a messy house. I also paid for a gardener to come cut the grass last week as we had been away for 2 weeks and it had gone wild. Husband hates cutting grass so thought he'd appreciate that. He did I guess but we have had more rain and it really needs cut again or next week it will be at the same point as when the gardener cut it. He's just so lazy and I'm really worried now what it's gona be like when baby is here.
We got out for from Ikea yesterday and when we got home I asked if he was gona build it, he said he'd do today. Well I can hear him building it now but only cause I think he sensed I was getting angry about his laziness!

Ugh I'm in a right mood.

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 14:19

Whisky my dp can be like that at times so you have my full sympathy Flowers

Puglover88 · 16/06/2019 14:41

Hello all,

I’m a bit late to the game joining this thread - currently 26 weeks (due 22nd September) but I had a 2nd trimester loss with my last pregnancy and didn’t want to join any groups this time until I felt a bit more confident that this one’s going to be a keeper!

Just wondering what people’s baby’s movements were/are like at 26 weeks? mine seems to have days where she’s super active and other days where I barely feel anything!

Whisky2014 · 16/06/2019 15:13

Thanks decaf.

I just went and did the grass myself. I can feel my back seize up as a type. I know I martyred myself there but common sense is to have it done so it's not worse/harder next time.

He's still building the cot.

Hi @Puglover88 I'm 29 weeks now but I think at 26 I was feeling movement mainly when eating or just after eating and also when I went to bed. I do think I had occasional days where not much happened but can't be sure.

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 15:42

Whisky do be careful with your back! Is it an overly complicated cot to build? I can put ours up in less than half an hour (its been going 6 years so i have done this a few times lol)

Whisky2014 · 16/06/2019 16:07

I honestly don't think it's complicated. He's taken 3 hours so far. We are supposed to be going to my parents tonight for tea and stay over cause they live in the town we work. I'm considering just leaving him here and going myself!

Dyra · 16/06/2019 16:27

Blind to mess and finds it incredibly difficult to put up flat pack furniture? If my husband wasn't sat in front of me playing on his switch I would be having concerns. My full sympathy. I hope your back recovers quickly, and your DH becomes a little less oblivious.

Welcome Puglover. Very sorry to hear about your previous loss. You're a few days ahead of me (due 25th). Movements for me are all over the place. I think baby has spontaneous parties at random times (day and night...) then exhausts themselves. The only time I can guarantee movement/party time is just as I'm trying to drift off to sleep...

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 16:44

Welcome puglover

Thinking about getting a travel cot with bassinet and changer for downstairs instead of just using pram for naps. Figure baby would be less in reach of the toddler this way? Has anyone else bought one of these?

Looking at these two -

Megan2018 · 16/06/2019 16:51

Welcome @
So sorry about your loss.
I’m 27+3 now and movement still erratic with no particular pattern. Definitely some quieter days than others. My MW not concerned until 28 wks, she says by then she’d want to know if movement changes, until then not to worry as long as getting some. However in your shoes I’d not be afraid to keep getting checked.
I had a growth scan last week and could see baby wriggling about but not feel it so I just think I have numb insides Grin

Megan2018 · 16/06/2019 16:52

Sorry last post was for @Puglover88 but my phone has decided it doesn’t like tagging

Whisky2014 · 16/06/2019 16:58

Thanks Dyra.

Well, cot is finally done. I actually went in just before he'd finished it. He said he was gona makeup the bed etc but I told him we need to wash the sheets first!

Anyway, quote happy with it. £170 and seems sturdy, durable and drawers slide out easily. The ones we looked at in John Lewis were 350+ so I'm glad we didn't buy there. In fact everything we bought in Ikea came to less than that! I have never been before but I'd deffo go back!

RonaldWeasley · 16/06/2019 17:01

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind another newbie joining. I'm due 25th Sept with our first (a boy!) but similarly to @Puglover88 have been nervy due to a previous pretty late loss. Puglover you've given me the confidence to copy you and join in so here I am!

It's reassuring to read other people's experiences re movement at around 26 weeks. We ended up at maternity triage at midnight last night as I've been feeling regular strong movements for weeks and then not a flutter all day yesterday! Everything is fine with the little dude, midwife who checked me was lovely and did say that it's still common to have days with very little movement up til 28 weeks... and of course he started fidgeting almost immediately after she put the doppler thing on me 🙄😂

The midwife did say at triage though that I'd done the right thing by coming in and they'd rather I did so any time I was worried, so I guess it's just an intuition thing in terms of what feels normal/wrong for you. Turns out my intuition was (thankfully!) wrong but I do feel better for getting checked and no one made me feel stupid, which I was kind of worried about.

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/06/2019 17:04

whisky it looks lovely! Very solid!

Stroan · 16/06/2019 17:50

@whisky2014 glad the cot got sorted in the end. I'm also feeling a bit frustrated with DH, we don't have a huge amount to do but I'm so sick of having to do all the thinking all the time and then nagging him. I even set up a Trello board (online project management thing!) because every time I tried to talk to him about stuff that needs done he would wander off. He seems to think we have all the time in the world when in reality we have about 8/9 weeks and a 3yo who isn't exactly helpful.

Welcome @puglover88 and @ronaldweasley

Megan2018 · 16/06/2019 18:38

That’s the one I want @Whisky2014
Jealous!

DustyDoorframes · 16/06/2019 19:10

Oh dear, I'm like everyone's DHs, I think we've got ages... to be fair, the one thing that we needed to get for day 1 (a bedside cot as we hired before) we do have now. But not a mattress. And i want a yoga ball. And a bouncy chair. Ho hum.

Puglover88 · 16/06/2019 20:16

Thanks for the replies everyone! @Dyra that’s reassuring to hear you have a similar movement pattern as we’re a similar gestation. Thanks @Megan2018 it’s good to hear other people’s experiences with movement. I have actually been in 5 times already with reduced movement 😬 I feel bad that they’ll be getting fed up of me up there but if I don’t feel kicks, I jump straight to the worst possible conclusion! That’s also really good to know that on the scan your baby was moving even though you couldn’t feel her.

Hi @RonaldWeasley so sorry about your previous loss - hope you’re doing ok - I’ve definitely been much more anxious this time around. Good to hear everything was fine when you went to get checked out - I was at my local maternity unit at 5:30am this morning as I hadn’t felt much movement all yesterday and I woke up at 3am this morning with this feeling of dread that something was seriously wrong. Pretty sure my OH thinks I’ve lost my marbles (though he is still v supportive!)

Also everybody sounds a lot more organised then me, I have nothing yet! Xx

Stroan · 16/06/2019 20:31

@DustyDoorframes it's normally the other way round here too. I just want the house organised and clean because I know I won't be able to do much after a section. DH currently dumps everything in the nursery so it all has to find a home otherwise by the time baby arrives it will look like an episode of hoarders in there.

We do need to get all the baby stuff out and check we still have everything. Can't find the newborn insert for the car seat at the moment. I'd forgotten it even had a newborn insert. I'm going to be rubbish at this.

DustyDoorframes · 16/06/2019 20:39

Argh good point @Stroan I've no clue where the insert is! It's all going to creep up on me, isn't it...

Stroan · 16/06/2019 20:55

@dustydoorframes you'll be in good company! I suddenly feel like my head is just not in the baby space anymore and I'm going to have no idea what to do.

kyles101 · 16/06/2019 22:08

@Whisky2014 love he cot - it's the same one we got!! I'm really impressed with everything we got from IKEA. It can just sometimes be slightly stressful walking round!!

I think I've finally got the nesting bug - have spent most of the day today cleaning and tidying, I'm vowing to keep on top of it all with little and often... had a look at the TOMM method so thanks for the heads up on that.

You have my sympathies with dh issues... mine can normally be fairly annoyingly blind to housework laid back and I feel like I have to mother him ie do all the thinking and decision making, but actually he's made a massive effort and I've deffo seen a change, not so much in the beginning but since the scans definitely. Long may it continue!!

Hello new ladies, welcome, sorry for the reasons you waited so long. I was chatting to such a brave lady yesterday who had had three mc or late losses before her second daughter. So inspirational.

Does anyone else sometimes wake their bumps - honestly sometimes mine is so lazy I feel the need to jiggle bump a bit just to make sure everything is ok - is that mean? I think I'm used to feeling more moving during the day in the week as I'm sat at my desk all day, so worry a bit at the weekend when I'm busy pottering and don't feel much!!

RonaldWeasley · 16/06/2019 22:12

Hi @Puglover88, I'm doing okay now I think, I'm trying hard not to expect the worst in any given situation but also trying to be kind to myself knowing that the worry is understandable. I succeed some days more than others 😂. I hope you're doing okay too, I can't imagine they would resent you going in as many times as you need to, especially in your circumstances. I was worried they'd tell me I was being stupid last night but got the impression they get it all the time and are happy to put our minds at rest.

Thanks for the welcome @Stroan, might steal your Trello board idea actually as the to do list currently up in our kitchen may as well be invisible... my husband is generally awesome but his advance planning skills are non existent and we are moving to a whole new area before the birth... bricking it!

Really like that cot @Whisky2014, is it from Ikea? Sorry if you already said further up the thread.

RonaldWeasley · 16/06/2019 22:16

P.s. Hi @kyles101 and thanks for the welcome! Omg I am 100% guilty of jiggling the bump and giving him a little prod... have been wondering the same thing about it being mean! I figure he'll be waking me up constantly come Sept so revenge is coming my way anyway...

TheCraicDealer · 16/06/2019 22:29

At 32w they're sleeping like 90-92% of the day, dunno about earlier, so I suppose that could account for some of the lazy bumps! I've been using the counting kicks app for a few weeks, although there was a thread the other day which was suggesting it might be counter productive?

Whisky2014 · 16/06/2019 23:00

Thanks all. Smile

@stroan and @kyles101 the I think it's having to do all the thinking.. so annoying! Hopefully he will get better. I know he has it in him, he just needs to actually do it!

@RonaldWeasley yep, it's from Ikea. You can get the drawers in different colours too if you didn't want to have solely white and they also had a cupboard and changing unit/drawer set in the same fashion although we didn't need any of that.
www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/childrens-ikea-products/baby/cots/fritids-stuva-cot-with-drawers-white-spr-09276848/
To see the other colours I think you just need to search the fritids range.

@megan2018 well I'm happy to recommend it so thought I think I remember you saying you were it getting it in another few months? So I can always give you an update when I'm using it with baby as I intend to use it straight away. :)
