@IVEgottheDECAF my neice was born the day before DD at 7lb something. I was terrified of holding her when I finally met her, she felt so much more delicate!

Beeseeinya · 24/06/2019 00:16

Hello September ladies, I thought I would join your thread. I've been reading it for a long time as my due date is very early October, and family history hints that she may come up to a month early. The longer I lurk on this thread knowing all about your pregnancies, the ruder it feels!

So I am expecting a girl, 25 weeks as of today so a bit behind you all. I have had a nasty time being pregnant so far with pgp, horrible sickness and now antenatal depression for which I have just been referred to what feels like dozens of mental health appointments. I'm also going in for growth scans starting shortly as high risk due to BMI. I've been exhausted since week 5, but feel like I might be turning a corner now.
I'm 36, live in South London/Surrey and this will be my first. Nervous as fuck Grin

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 07:27

Welcome beeseeinya!

Stroan i think i would be the same!

29+4!

TwittleBee · 24/06/2019 07:36

Hello Beeseeinya ! Nice to have you join us in our chatter Smile

I'm also super surprised that they can override that KnobJockey ! Surely a consultant is referring you for a reason and isnt something the scanners can decide isnt important enough without knowing the full picture (and being qualified to make that decision?)

Spotting again this morning and still cramping (I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow!) but I am seeing my midwife thursday morning so I am going to hold out till then if things do not worsen.

@Beeseeinya welcome! Sorry to hear you’ve had a tough time of it, hopefully this thread can help you a little with voicing any of your worries or concerns.

@TwittleBee sorry to hear you’re still having spotting/cramping, hopefully things stay OK until Thursday!

DustyDoorframes · 24/06/2019 08:33

Ouf twittle hang on in there!!!! Another 4 weeks at least, baby T!!! Stay put!!!

Welcome beesinya! I'm only 26 weeks today, there's a few of us laggards! I'm due on the 30th, so just scraping into this thread too.

Knobjockey that does sound very odd!! I can see why you'd be feeling weird about it!!!

TwittleBee · 24/06/2019 08:39

That's what I keep thinking too DustyDoorframes ! If I can make it to 32 weeks then baby will have a really good chance. Work are being super understanding and have said if I do give birth early they'll pay me my full whack until end of August so then I can just focus on baby.

That’s good of them Twittle

Puglover88 · 24/06/2019 08:50

@KnobJockey that doesn’t seem right that they can override the consultant, do you have to wait long until you can see the replacement?

DustyDoorframes · 24/06/2019 09:09

That's really good re work, Twittle. 32 weeks is brilliant, but thankfully things can be pretty straightforward sooner too. Which is obvs not relevant as yours is staying put!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 09:12

twittle are you able to rest up until thursday? It must all be so worrying.

Dc4 has just requested "Carry me" half way back from school. Luckily he took it quite well that i had to say i couldnt!

Stroan · 24/06/2019 09:20

Thats so good of your work Twittle, one less thing to worry about.

@knobjockey that really doesn't seem right and surely your midwife could speak to another doctor to sort it out? They are quite scan-happy at my hospital and I definitely take it for granted.

Welcome @beeseeinya sorry you've had a tough time, hopefully the third trimester is kinder to you.

I'm sorry that so many of us are having growth scans for worrying reasons. I suppose we should be grateful that we CAN have them, but it is really stressful.

Had a weird thing overnight. Woke up needing to roll over, but couldn't because my bump was incredibly sore/tender/tight. The pain was sort of taking my breath away. Don't think it was BH as it was just constant. I must have drifted off eventually and it's fine now. Anyone had anything similar? I don't think I'm worried but it was really weird!

easterbuns1 · 24/06/2019 09:20

@Hsunshine I had IUGR with my eldest, they delivered him at 36+6 and he was 5lb4. Ended up with a planned section because he was also breech and low levels of fluid.

Growth scans weren't meant to start til 34 weeks this time but I did have one at 28 weeks with my last bleed. My friend is a few weeks ahead of me and she is having weekly scans now for growth and cord, they seem to be monitoring her very closely.

ShowerTheHorse · 24/06/2019 09:23

@hsunshine I'm glad to find someone in the same situation too, although not great to be in this situation obviously.

Can I just ask are you/your partner big? I'm only small at 5'1 and DP is not tall himself so I don't expect to have a massive baby anyway! So far all fluid measurements and blood flow have been good too but have another scan for that tomorrow. I feel like I'm never out of that hospital now!

I hope you are okay @TwittleBee and yes let's hope baby stays until 32 weeks!

Hsunshine · 24/06/2019 09:37

@easterbuns1 did your eldest baby turn out ok as a child? I feel like it’s what’a going to happen to me....

@showerthehorse no 5’2, but my problem is baby started on 63% percentile, before dropping to 28 and now to 13. So i don’t think it’s because I’m small. How many weeks are you?

easterbuns1 · 24/06/2019 09:55

@Hsunshine he was most definitely better out than in, he gained weight much better once born and was an absolute chunk. A dream of a baby as long as we stuck to his routine, slept all night and had the most beautiful beaming smiles. He was diagnosed with autism in nursery but he is very similar to his dad (undiagnosed but textbook Aspergers) so I've never thought that was down to the pregnancy. You would never look at him now and think he was so little, he's tall and very clever. Second baby was 7lb 6 with no issues on scans.

I know it must be a real worry, my friend is the same but in my experience anyways the medical staff seem to get it just right in leaving baby to grow as much as possible but getting them out as soon as they need to be.

ShowerTheHorse · 24/06/2019 09:58

Ah I see, this baby has been small since the 20 week scan. Not had a drop but he's been under the 5th centile since 20 weeks he's growing but growth is slow they said last week. I didnt ask much at all though i wish i dis now. I'm 27 weeks today how many weeks are you?

ShowerTheHorse · 24/06/2019 10:00

Ah @easterbuns1 that's reassuring. X

TwittleBee · 24/06/2019 10:22

Decaf I'm actually in the office today and tomorrow and DH is on nights so no proper rest BUT I shall be taking it easy and I'll be working from home Wednesday and Thursday. Although do have a busy weekend planned - meant to be going to a festival! May need to rethink or at least no dancing and minimal walking.

Are you sure it wasnt a really strong BH Stroan for you? What you've described actually just sounds like all my BHs...

Thanks for the welcome. I might be a bit shy at first. Part of me is sick of talking about pregnancy, but I cannot stop reading mumsnet. Having trouble sleeping and end up on threads for hours. I might need to hide my phone at night. Last night I ended up in tears at 2am after reading about babies dying on hot cars. Jesus.
I may be a little anxious as DP is going to australia for work for a couple of weeks and worried about being a bit lonely! Family and friends are all far away as we are new to this area.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 24/06/2019 11:28

Morning all - so many of you with extra scans, which is reassuring. I have my next scan on Tuesday due to high blood pressure in last pregnancy - DD was fine though, born at 39+3 (induced) and 7lb 9oz. BP ok at the moment but I’m fully expecting it to rise at some point.

Was soooo uncomfortable yesterday after our flight home, stomach felt so tight like it was going to rip ooen! I’ve woken up recently with some strong pains, not sure if they’re BH or not but damn uncomfortable. Can’t remember that happening last time.

All starts ramping up now doesn’t it!

DustyDoorframes · 24/06/2019 11:47

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri snap with much of that! I'm on aspirin and calcium this time, and it's likely to cone on later each time anyway, so not overly worried. But I really want a 9/19 birth date so wouldn't mind a due date induction! (One day over takes me into October...). (Obvs not being entirely serious...)

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 12:03

Has anyone who is only entitled to maternity allowance applied yet? Sending my form off today and just been reading horror stories online about how long it all takes

Stroan · 24/06/2019 12:10

@twittlebee really?! The only thing I had last time that I thought might be BH was a tightening in waves. Maybe it was that last night.

@bridgetjonesdaiquiri definitely! I had a little cry last night because I remember it being all downhill from here!

@dustydoorframes you could aim for a wee bit early at 19/9/19, that would be a fab DOB.

TwittleBee · 24/06/2019 12:14

oh no dont say that Decaf ! How many payslips do we need btw, so far I only have 2!
