KLane yes! There's also a company called Brighter Babes which ships direct from Oz, even the full price ones are £15. Going to do an order once payday arrives, will get my wee nephew a few bits too. He's not been anywhere near as spoilt as DNeice was so I'll treat him to a new onesie or two!

kyles101 · 23/06/2019 11:32

@IVEgottheDECAF DPs clearly enjoying playi with fire this week 🤔

Glad all ok your end @Stroan, we just need a check in from @TwittleBee now and all will be well.

Sat in the garden watching the rabbits outsmart my dog 🙄

Karigan195 · 23/06/2019 14:45

Hope Twittlebee is ok too!

How many litres of fluid do you think it’ll take to stop feeling dehydrated 😂. Was out in the sun yesterday and nothing seems to stop me being thirsty today 🙄

TwittleBee · 23/06/2019 16:05

Hi all, sorry for being absent! All is okay I think... I haven't gone back in anyway. The bleeding has stopped this morning and cramps have pretty much stopped too. Although last night I did nearly go in as i was getting contractions every 15 to 20 minutes but as they were only lasting 30 seconds tops at a time I wasn't too worried. They ended up dying down around midnight and DH let me have a lay in till 10.30am!

Very relieved to see all is okay for you too Stroan

I do really think we are going to see this baby come early though. DS came at 37 weeks and they do say generally the 2nd comes earlier right? Along with all this bloomin messing me about, I feel like my body is gearing up already

Not happy with my DP I mentioned I really fancied some nice ice cream unusually he jumped at the chance to go get me some, I asked for a nice Ben and Jerry's with a sauce or a swirl of chocolate or toffee or a core one I specifically said do not get me cookie dough I don't fancy that at all, an hour later (the supermarket is 5 mins away) he turns up with Asda's own cookie dough ice cream apparently he met a friend coming out of Asda so they called at the local for one !! Not happy, he says I'm been ungrateful he is obviously feeling brave !Hmm

DustyDoorframes · 23/06/2019 16:26

Oh twittle I'm so glad! I had visions of you on labour ward- v glad you were tucked up in bed!
How far along are you again? It doesn't sound like you're going to be one of those women counting down the last few weeks, does it...

Fortheloveofscience · 23/06/2019 16:42

Twittle I’m so glad everything’s calmed down to you, that sounds unbelievably stressful.

Do you think you’ll be generally set up for an early birth? I’m having loads of work done on the house so praying I go to 40 weeks, hopefully you’re a lot more sorted than we are.

On my way in 5 mins to pick up a bundle of newborn/0-3 months clothes advertised on Facebook Smile.

TwittleBee · 23/06/2019 17:13

Almost 28 weeks, hoping if we can last till 32 weeks then things will really look good for survival and health. Hopefully all this drama will actually mean nothing and I will end up being one of those left at 42 weeks needing to be induced haha

Oh wow yeah that is a brave comment Dipsy ! Bloody hope he went back and got the right one?

Love getting a bundle of second hand stuff Fortheloveofscience ! Got a cracking deal for 3-6 months from eBay, all Next clothing!

I am having weekly scans to check the placenta is working and two weekly to check the babies growth, as the percentile so far drops a lot every scan

Is anyone else having or had anything like this?

Megan2018 · 23/06/2019 17:49

@Hsunshine
Monthly scans here for growth as so far on track-but now I’ve got the GD diagnosis I wonder if that might change.
Apparently over 40 there is a higher chance of placenta failure which is why I’m on growth pathway.
I guess weekly is reassuring? But must be a bit of a pain!

boodles101 · 23/06/2019 18:17

hsunshine I'm now on 2 weekly scans as twin 1 doesn't make onto the centiles on my growth chart. Hoping she has caught up a bit by my next one.

boodles101 · 23/06/2019 18:18

twittlebee glad everything is ok and settling down for you. Hopefully the next 10-12 weeks is completely uneventful for you

Hsunshine · 23/06/2019 18:57

@boodles101 are you worried about it? I am expecting them to confirm IUGR the next time I go

IVEgottheDECAF · 23/06/2019 19:17

Sorry so many are having worrying times!

I am kinda half hopeful i might get an extra scan somewhere along the line if i keep measuring big. Although i don't think its any concern as i have had three LGA babies. Large but not scary large.

Glad you are ok twittle when do you next see the mw?

Stroan · 23/06/2019 19:22

Monthly growth scans because of GD and previous big baby, but fully expecting that to increase to fortnightly or weekly further on. Would just like to be on mat leave before that starts. I don't have much faith in growth scans (they estimated DDs weight to be a LOT lower than she actually was) but I do appreciate checking the placenta and blood flow - it's very reassuring.

It sounds very worrying for you, but so good that they are able/willing to monitor the growth so closely. Hope you get some answers at your next appointment.

Twittle, glad things have settled down. I definitely think you can completely ignore the list of things to bring on labour, but I really hope you are on here moaning about being bored and overdue!

boodles101 · 23/06/2019 19:31

hsunshine I keep moving between worrying and keeping calm about it. Friday was the first scan I've had in over 8 weeks when all other twins get scanned at least 4 weekly. So I feel annoyed that they refused my 24 Week scan which might have picked up slow growth then. I'm hoping that twin 1 is just a smaller twin, they have a placenta each so can't have ttts so that's a positive. It could be that her placenta is smaller than his. But until I speak to a consultant next week I can only Google, which I'm trying my best not to do!
Do you know if baby has IUGR, they tend to get them out earlier? That's a concern in the back of my head.

Hsunshine · 23/06/2019 19:45

@boodles101, I am the same at my 25 week mw apt they were debating if baby was small or not but didn’t send me for a scan for another 2 weeks and meanwhile growth is slowing 1% a day....
yes. I am expecting baby to come by 37 so trying to get prepared in case.
When will your twins come?
Maybe your girl is just smaller because there’s 2 of them and there’s less room

boodles101 · 23/06/2019 19:49

hsunshine I'm hoping that's the case. She lays on my right side, where as boy takes up all the middle/left so I feel like he's taking up all her room! I've no idea when they will come, the consultant I saw 10 weeks ago was useless and gave me no info whatsoever. So I feel like I've been left in the dark a bit. I'm going armed with a list of questions next week and asking to see the lead consultant.

ShowerTheHorse · 23/06/2019 19:50

Hi, @hsunshine I'm also having growth scans every 2 weeks and then a scan every week to check placenta/blood flow as baby is not on the chart.

I've seen a different consultant every time but the last one really bloody scared me! I feel lots of movement every day though so that's reassuring.

Have they spoken to you about possible induction later on?

happydays00 · 23/06/2019 20:07

@Hsunshine I'm having weekly scans but that's to check excess amniotic fluid. I'm waiting for a specialist scan referral, which will probably be this week (so 2 scans this week) to check for possible organ defects with the baby. Trying not to worry but obviously it's hard.

Not to mention that the weekly scans and consequent consultant appointments take up every Monday afternoon. Reassuring they're taking it seriously but really quite a faff.

What's the plan for you? Will it be weekly now until baby comes?

Hsunshine · 23/06/2019 20:22

@boodles101 yes you need to ask all your questions and be assertive with them. In my first one I was so surprised I didn’t ask anything so now I write them before I go

@ShowerTheHorse oh yes that’s the same as me. Glad to have found you, but sorry you’re in the same situation. My first growth scan I asked and they said if it stayed steady on the new percentile they’d probs go to 38 weeks. The second one it had dropped a lot again and she didn’t mention that so I asked. Again if it gets steady then they’ll have the convo at 37 weeks but if baby keeps dropping then I guess it’ll be sooner. They said for now deff better in than out

@happydays00 that’s scary when they start doing that, agreed about the scans, I usually spend 3 hours at the hospital and yes every week now

happytobemrsg · 23/06/2019 20:37

I’m having growth scans every 3 weeks because DS, although born at 38+2, he was tiny - 5lb 5oz.

IVEgottheDECAF · 23/06/2019 21:02

Think i would be scared if i had a tiny baby! My 38 weeker was 8lb1

KnobJockey · 23/06/2019 22:13

I'm so sorry so many of you are having to have regular scans- I'm surprised it's as often as it is.

I'm feeling a little anxious about it, as I was told that due to a previous lletz and DD being classed as growth restricted, I should be too- she was actually on the 36th centile at 37 weeks, but had crossed to that from being on a much higher centile, so my consultant asked for my midwife to book me in. She did, but then the ultrasound team cancelled it as the 36th centile didn't fit their criteria, DD needed to be under 10. So now my midwife says she can't override their decision, and to wait to see my consiltant- only he's now left the NHS, and I'm not seeing the replacement until 30/31 weeks. I just find it crazy that the ultrasound team can override a consultants request?
