It depends how often you were paid twittle i am sending four as needs to cover 13 weeks

Weekly pay - 13
2 weekly - 7
4 weekly - 4
Monthly - 4

DustyDoorframes · 24/06/2019 12:30

@Stroan that's the dream! DCs 1-2 came at 40+4 (evicted) and 40 exactly (due to be induced the next day) so not holding out much hope...
@TwittleBee and @IVEgottheDECAF I've only done it as self employed so not sure what proof you need for employed- but it does always seem to take a while and be daffy (that's an autocorrect for faffy- but it's daffy too!). They do backdate it though, so you shouldn't lose out as long as you don't starve waiting!!

TwittleBee · 24/06/2019 12:35

ah crap Decaf so 4 means I cant bloomin send anything off until after July payslip! That is gonna be bloody close!

I think a lot of the people who i have read things from online complaining about the process are self employed actually, problems seem to be caused by unpaid NI contributions etc. Have got all the evidence it asks for so hopefully wont take too long. I still have another wage to come in yet also although it is mainly made up of SSP so a bit of a sad looking one lol

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 12:37

Twittle do you not have any old ones? You can use any from 66 weeks before due date

GemmaJen · 24/06/2019 12:57

28w appointment done and dusted. No issues, but I'm over 90th for size on the bump 🙈 anyone else? Apparently they don't mind unless growth jumps up further? I'm worry I'm going to be huge, i already feel like a whale. On the plus side little one is head down and cooperated with the Doppler this time.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 13:03

Me! gemma my last baby was 8lb9 so i am assuming this one will be 9lbish fully cooked

TwittleBee · 24/06/2019 13:16

DECAF my previous employer payslips were all online accessed and I cant remember how to get into them and my previous colleagues wont even reply to me now... I'll just have to wait I guess. At least it is back paid if I do go over when I need it.

GemmaJen yeah it is all about moving away from your own curve, I was measuring just above the 50th with DS then jumped up to the 90th which then triggered a growth scan. Lovely that the head is down! Certainly means you dont have to worry about breech or transverse! Glad you heard the heartbeat too.

Yeah, self employed NI changed a few years ago so you pay it with you tax (ie, up to a year after the end if the financial year, depending on how much it is) so you go through a stupid dance where MA tells you you can't have any as you've not paid enough NI, you have kittens and ring up, they get hmrc to send you a bill, which you pay, they say you can have the MA, then (in my case) hmrc refunds most of the bill anyway. It's very very silly. Hopefully none of that needed for people with pay slips!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 13:24

Fingers crossed dusty!

Twittle yes they back date up to 3 months

Stroan · 24/06/2019 13:46

@gemmajen my bump is so big they don't even bother measuring it anymore - have growth scans anyway so not essential.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 13:48

I dont think they measure anyones bump if they are having growth scans as the scans are supposedly more accurate!

Fortheloveofscience · 24/06/2019 13:48

Me too GemmaJen - sat comfortably on 95th percentile at 25 and 28 week measurements. Midwife is unconcerned, apparently if I track that line all the way through it still indicates a normal sized baby.

easterbuns1 · 24/06/2019 13:59

@IVEgottheDECAF that's right, well it is here anyways, mw wouldn't measure me as I'm due for a growth scan as all they would do if concerned would be send me for a growth scan.

Stroan · 24/06/2019 14:01

@ivegotthedecaf they did last time, but at my last two appointments they've picked up the measuring tape, looked at me and decided not to bother! But yeah, pointless when I'm having growth scans.

LaBelleSausage · 24/06/2019 14:01

I’ve not been on mumsnet for ages but have been wondering how everyone is getting on! Must make more effort. Posting so I can have a read.
Hope all the mums and bumps are well x

Megan2018 · 24/06/2019 14:16

I was told they can only put measurement or growth scan on the chart - so for me only having the scans.

But they measured me at my last MW apt as she had a student with her, so they did an unofficial measurement so she could practice and didn't record it. It was bang on with the scan though.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 14:21

Thats interesting that they matched up Megan! I had a growth scan at the end of my last pregnancy, extremely close to the birth. It was over a lb out.

Megan2018 · 24/06/2019 14:26

Yes I was surprised @IVEgottheDECAF they were done 4 days apart.
Measured exactly on the 50th centile for 27 weeks (was 27 exactly on day of scan and 27+4 at MW.

Stroan · 24/06/2019 14:30

Growth scans are notoriously inaccurate towards the end, especially if baby is head down. It's one of the reasons I won't budge on an ELCS - even if they say baby is smaller than DD I won't believe them or worry any less. They predicted her to be between 7 & 8lbs so cancelled my planned induction. She was over 10lbs.

My last response was a bit flippant @gemmajen - I guess I was trying to say that bumps come in a range of shapes and sizes! Fundal measurement really isn't accurate so don't let it make you feel like you are particularly massive (or not!). If they measured me in the morning then again at night, I'm sure they would get different results. It's just one of lots of indicators. I've never really understood it because it doesn't take into account the shape of your body/amount of fat on your tummy.

Plus, someone has to the at the top and bottom of the percentile chart!

boodles101 · 24/06/2019 16:21

I have a weird pulsating at the bottom of my bump today. It's too slow to be a heart rate but too consistent to be kicks. Don't think it's hiccups either as its been quite alot today, but saying that I don't think I've actually felt either baby have hiccups. Any guesses what else it could be?

RonaldWeasley · 24/06/2019 16:26

@IVEgottheDECAF I've been having fun and games with MA too. I'm a bit of an odd one as both employed and self-employed and employment is in a business that DH and I own. The employment has only been in the last 3 months though so I've had to get husband to 'refuse' SMP so I can claim MA, which feels a bit mean but I don't earn enough through self employment to get the full whack that route. I've literally just sent my form off and if it comes back all hunky dory I'll be very surprised. Sure I read somewhere you should hear back within 24 days but can't remember exactly.

Is anyone doing the Positive Birth Company hypnobirthing digital course? Sure I am a naive FTM and it may all go out the window but I'm loving it so far.

Hoping for a calm week full of good news for all those who have had scans/scares lately

Megan2018 · 24/06/2019 16:31

@RonaldWeasley
I'm not getting on very well with it so far! I just can't engage with it, but will keep trying. I don't think it is my cup of tea.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/06/2019 16:58

ronald i saw something online where people were hearing back in the 24 days but the hearing back was a text saying you will get something in however many more weeks Confused

RonaldWeasley · 24/06/2019 17:11

Oh crikey @IVEgottheDECAF looks like we could be in with a long wait in that case! Fingers crossed all goes through smoothly for us MA folk. Good that they backdate it but obviously don't want to be hanging around for it once the wages stop.

@Megan2018 I was feeling the same for the first few vids tbh, I'm watching it with DH and we both struggled to get into it at first. There are still some bits I'm taking with a pinch of salt (i.e. I'm pretty sure my breathing can be as zen as anything and it's still going to sodding hurt!) and I'm still very open to an epidural etc or whatever ends up being needed to get the baby out. It's the science/breathing stuff that I'm really enjoying now as I've been worried about panicking and it's making me feel much more informed about what is actually going to be going on down there when the time comes!
