I've no clue how they differ but a lot seem to have the warning off "not suitable for pregnancy or childbirth" on them kyles

I'm glad those palpitations have gone for you Decaf they aren't nice to have. How is it being at home?

I've no clue if I'm leaking fluid or just pissing myself today...

Gas and air is pretty much my plan too, with tens for early on? I've heard similar with pethidine, I was thinking to use it if hints seemed slow and I needed a rest? Who knows what will happen on the day though - best laid plans and all that!!

Glad to hear the palpitations have stopped at least, stopping work deffo the right choice then. Bumps are getting heavy now aren't they, I'm finding turning in bed and getting out of bed starting to become an issue!! Not tooooo long to go now. Do you think you'll be early?

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/06/2019 08:21

Its ok twittle i have two year old dc4 for company and i do both school runs most days. Some days i am managing to be productive. Managed to gut our bedroom last week and this week want to do both dc3s room and dc4s room (which baby will eventually share) Also want to get my moses and swing out of the lost to check condition!

Oh and the elastic in a pair of my maternity jeans snapped and now they fit better Blush

kyles101 · 20/06/2019 08:21

Ha ha, @TwittleBee I hear a sniff test works if you need to know?!

Waiting to be let in for my GTT test ... I'm sure appointment was 8:20 but doors not even unlocked yet Hmm

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/06/2019 08:21

twittle put a pad on and then you can check for smell?

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/06/2019 08:25

My 4 have all been born before due date. Earliest 12 days and latest 1 day. No pattern in getting earlier or later. The 1 day early dc i was very sofa bound at the end which i think encouraged him to be back to back and then stay put til then! So need keep on my feet this time!

I really want to go into labour after a good sleep.

I have had one labour start after a full nights sleep and the other three all around midnight so little / no sleep. The well rested birth was MILES easier!

TwittleBee · 20/06/2019 08:34

kyles and decaf yup I tried that and couldn't smell anything but I have been drinking a lot this morning (2 pints water and a cuppa since 5am)... urgh, if its still happening by lunch I'll call midwife. So much for all that kegels talk yesterday haha.

Super odd that door isn't open yet kyles - can you check the app time?

Decaf ah I do love a good clear out and sort! Trying to do that here too but slow progress.

Know what you mean about slow progress i have a 6 year old hoarder Blush

Loved, loved, loved my Tens machine. Used it solidly for 24 hours, then added gas and air later. Wires etc didn't bother me, it was under my top (then gown!) and the wires fed through my neckline.

My only issue with it was when I started gas and air I let DH do the controls. He decided the contraction was finished and turned it off. The contraction was not finished!

You can hire them so I looked up the brand the hire company used and bought that one. In hindsight I should have hired it as only needed it for one delivery.

Karigan195 · 20/06/2019 10:00

Very interested by this tens machine talk. Might have to look at them.

Definitely starting to suffer here. Not helped by the fact that DP is mega self critical so if I have a grumpy voice due to discomfort he then thinks I’m having a go at him. No love I’m just really uncomfortable and you asked me a question as I was bending over emptying the dishwasher! Men 🙄.

Although that might come in handy at 39 weeks since someone said that they have gone into labour after an argument everytime 😜.

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/06/2019 10:23

That was me karigan! Although only 3 out of 4 times lol

Most of my mothercare sale stuff is out for delivery, pretty speedy only ordered on Tues!

Started putting couple of baby bits on the weekly shop nappies, wipes etc

Stroan · 20/06/2019 10:29

@karigan195 sounds like the perfect reason for him to empty the dishwasher. You wouldn't want to upset him.

@Twittlebee hope things have calmed down now?

I've got the physio later, suspect my hip pain is a bit of sciatica and I also hope they can fix me!

Karigan195 · 20/06/2019 10:33

In fairness DP was mid doing his own tasks and emptying the dishwasher is my sons job but since I had packed my son off to clean his bedroom I thought I’d give the little chap a break.

happydays00 · 20/06/2019 10:57

@ColdCottage I totally got caught out with the letter. Am here now, waiting to see if consultant will scan me one over to fly home - otherwise I'll just fly home and pretend to be 26 weeks when I'll actually be 29 😬

Sciatica really bad since I've been laying on a sun bed and swimming lots. Trying to do stretches but still have moments where I end up yelping in pain.

I started the eviction plan at 36 weeks (raspberry leaf from 33) and all it seemed to do to me was send me into false labour from 36-38 weeks and I ended up exhausted, frustrated and a tad hysterical so this time my plan is to just leave it to nature. Ha - let's see if I'm still doing that in another 5 weeks, bet I'm manically bouncing on a ball and downing raspberry leaf tea by the pint whilst shouting GET OUT 😂

firstbabybean · 20/06/2019 10:58

Got my GTT today too @kyles101. They are running late and I am absolutely hangry! I feel absolutely massive. My belly has grown lots and got a lot tighter in the last few weeks. Am dreading them telling me I’ve got GD but think I probably do 😔

BBell2 · 20/06/2019 11:30

@Whisky2014 try not to worry about weight gain, I'm feeling really big this time but theres so much fluid isnt there and from what I remember a bloody big heavy placenta doing all that work!

@Kyle's I had a tens last time, loads of research (its purple and I think an older boots model specifically maternity but can be used for sports, whereas normal injury ones cant be used for maternity) bought second hand for less than rental with a couple of sets of new pads. Was syntocin induced with wires literally everywhere theyncould be so didnt add to it last time, but hoping to make use this one.

Stroan · 20/06/2019 12:22

@firstbabybean that's really late for a GTT! Bit cruel not to do it first thing.

Karigan195 · 20/06/2019 12:57

@firstbabybean. Feeling tight and massive here too but they seem to have decided I don’t need a GTT test. Both comforting in that they obviously think I’m low risk but worrying as how will they know then?

But since it made me throw up last time and I couldn’t complete it it’s a bit of a catch 22!

Megan2018 · 20/06/2019 13:10

As I have GD with no ounce of symptoms - and that is the norm, I don't think anyone who is feeling big needs to take that as a sign of anything. My baby is not big and neither is my bump!

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/06/2019 15:15

Urgh

So i decided to attack dc3s bedroom. Half way through, one bin bag filled and it looks no better. Not only that but everywhere else is a tip as i have done nothing else!

TheCraicDealer · 20/06/2019 15:36

Megan2018 I got a price from Little Green Sheep for a new mattress for the Tutti Bambini Cozee- £89.95, but you need to send a template to them because the corners are rounded (ffs....). The official Tutti Bambini one gets shite reviews on mothercare, and it's sold out.

I did explicitly ask if they had a template already on file as it's hardly a little known brand but they dodged the question. I'm in two minds whether to bother, the one I'm getting a lend of is less than two years old and has been stored well in a smoke and and pet free home. The general mattress replacement advice seems to be based on cot mattresses which are used by older children for longer periods rather than the bedside cribs which they're only in for 6mos.

Megan2018 · 20/06/2019 15:47

@TheCraicDealer
I got one on ebay for less than £20 Grin

Megan2018 · 20/06/2019 15:48

@TheCraicDealer I wouldn't use 2nd hand though wherever its from. The SIDS advice is to change mattresses for each baby even in the same family.

kyles101 · 20/06/2019 17:27

Urgh, what a morning! They were running behind before we even got stared! Then they tested my urine about an hour after I'd had the sugary drink, the technician popped her head round the door and said "you have glucose in your urine" and went off. Sat panicking for 10 mins then dr appeared, when I asked her about it she said well when did you give your sample, so I said 10 mins ago, about an hour after drink. She said well no wonder there's glucose in your urine then, that's an exceptionally sugary drink and your kidneys can only filter out so much, especially when you're pregnant, it's just a normal sample of urine we'd worry and then do the GTT anyway 🤷‍♀️

So waiting until tomorrow for actual results!

Fingers crossed for you @firstbabybean. Apparently my fundal (is that right?) is bang on average so I'm hoping all's well but who knows. As @Megan2018 said no really symptoms to look out for.

@IVEgottheDECAF just concentrate on one thing per day, it'll get there eventually. I think I massively over tired myself over the weekend and Monday/Tuesday so am having a couple of chill evenings to make up for it!!

@TheCraicDealer I'm massively in your camp with the next to me mattress... we're buying dh's cousins... it was used for 4 months... new mattress... really...? Plus it was only used for night time sleeping and we will use it as such too... surely to 6 months and with night time and naps would equal more sleep than our 2 will have on it? I probably will cave in but it does seem unnecessary to me.
