Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

Has anyone bought pregnancy pillow? If so which one and how are you finding it?

Nervousdave · 17/09/2019 23:33

I have a 5 foot long pillow, it's great for supporting hips, bump and back when sleeping on side (I have it between my ankles, knees and under bump). I sometimes get a sore shoulder but i guess it's the forced sleeping on the side instead of on back x

jpaws · 18/09/2019 06:25

I bought a 9ft one from amazon early on to try and get used to side sleeping. I quite like it and can get comfy but only for so long. I swap sides throughout the night and sometimes still find myself on my back!

Comps83 · 18/09/2019 07:40

I bought the long one from mothercare
I’m still super uncomfortable and kick it out the bed half way through the night
Doesn’t help that DH had a massive go at me for it taking up too much room in the bed
How’s everyones kicks coming along? Mine is constantly on the move now

Funnybunnyfluff · 18/09/2019 09:39

I was looking and my DH made a comment of where am I going to sleep 😂! Wasn't sure if I get a big one or small one.

I am a side sleeper mainly but I have been outing a pillow between my knees and it does make a difference strangely.

jpaws · 18/09/2019 14:05

😂😂 these comments from the OHs - mine did exactly the same but it’s actually not been an issue space wise really and we’re only in a standard double bed

starflake · 18/09/2019 14:23

Haha I've the dreamgenii pillow & DP at night when I use it says oh he's sleeping with us tonight is he 😂. I don't use it every night as it makes me uncomfortable at times.

spannerintheneck · 18/09/2019 18:16

I'm currently still putting a normal pillow between my knees and a bit under bump and that's worked fine, I think I will be upgrading to a proper one this weekend, I am starting to have lots of broken sleep 😰 how is everyone getting on with buying baby bits? I haven't started with clothes yet and feel like I need to get cracking! How much do you buy in each size?

NapsAndTea · 18/09/2019 20:26

I've got a cheapy set from Argos - it came with a wedge which is nice to squish under the bump!

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 19/09/2019 07:41

@spannerintheneck i’ve barely bought anything still. I’m finding bits in sales and in supermarkets as and when I see them but don’t have a great deal clothes-wise. Although I did find a good snow suit in the sale at John Lewis!
I’m less worried about clothes and more worried about all the other stuff I need to get - breast pump, steriliser, formula(?), blankets, bottles, baby monitor... the list is endless lol!!

Funnybunnyfluff · 19/09/2019 07:55

What's is people's opinions on breast pumps?

First time mum not sure if I can even breast feed yet so thinking do I buy a pump or wait and see if I can do it first? Don't want to waste money. Do I buy hand pump and hope for the best? 🤷‍♀️

Cot and baby monitor I think I will aim for January sales if the baby is with us first 6 months it's not urgent is it?

I'm have the next to me crib.

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 19/09/2019 08:23

@Funnybunnyfluff I am in the same predicament! No idea if I can breastfeed/if baby will be able to. I was going to maybe wait for Black Friday and see if I could get one for cheap.
Then the same goes for bottles, bottle makers and formula, do you buy just in case you can’t breastfeed or not...?
I’m struggling with all the unknowns!
I agree with you on the cot, but maybe get a baby monitor if you put your baby down in another room somewhere quiet but want to get on with other things? :)

Newmummysu · 19/09/2019 08:28

Congrats, 2 of my friends are due at Christmas too ! love an xmas baby. good luck all

spannerintheneck · 19/09/2019 09:34

@TTc2019BabyNo1 see I'm much more worried about the clothes for some reason! Just the amounts and things, I have done cots and monitors before so I think I know where I stand with those.

I am planning on buying a hand pump before baby is born and trying to bf, I fed if I have all the kits in the house to bottle feed I will give up easier so I will buy as and if I need to when baby is here

Funnybunnyfluff · 19/09/2019 13:30

@TTc2019BabyNo1

That's a good point about the monitor.

It's all confusing I'm such a planner and the unknown is a nightmare for me.

NapsAndTea · 19/09/2019 20:24

Midwife today and all was good. I've only felt the baby really low down still (26 weeks tomorrow!) but turns out the baby is laying transverse down low so that's obviously just where he's comfortable for now 🙈

jpaws · 19/09/2019 21:04

I’ve also had midwife today, 28+1 and bump measures spot on apparently. She reckons he’s head down but said that can change often. Had bloods taken to be rechecked and got weighed ... not a huge fan of the weight gain 😏 but will try to make better choices and hope it comes off alright after he’s here!

NapsAndTea · 22/09/2019 14:58

So how many of you have settled on names? Who's waiting until their bubba is here?

Jowd92 · 22/09/2019 16:01

Me and my partner have settled on our little boys name now 💙

Funnybunnyfluff · 22/09/2019 16:14

Girls name sorted and boys first name sorted just stuck for a middle name but done otherwise 😁... just waiting to see what we have 👍🏻

How about you?

StephRae · 22/09/2019 18:18

Hi everyone, been about a month since I was last on here due to my personal life being a bit crazy. I’m 26 weeks today and baby girl is doing well, she’s so much more active, not to mention a lot bigger because my bump has grown so much. Speaking of, how big are your bumps because personally I feel huge for 26 weeks!

StephRae · 22/09/2019 18:19

@Funnybunnyfluff I’m the other way around, my fiancé and I have had a middle name picked out for a while (as it’s a family name) but are so stuck on first names.

Jowd92 · 22/09/2019 18:30

@stephrae I'm also 26 weeks today and my little man has become so much more active and stronger recently I dont feel like my bump is as big this time round cant wait for my next scan to see how much his grown and what his weighing

StephRae · 22/09/2019 18:37

Yeah they definitely get stronger around this time don’t they, little madam loves punching me in the ribs 😂 are you also due on the 29th December then?

Jowd92 · 22/09/2019 19:58

Yes edd 29th december but will hopefully have him either a week or 2 early
