Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

Everything went well today, and we are having a little boy 💙 got whooping cough vaccination tomorrow before work. Still only feeling occasional baby movements but my placenta is right across the front, cushioning him!

xKerry · 29/07/2019 23:50

I'm just jumping in her, due December 6th

Funnybunnyfluff · 30/07/2019 08:44

20 week scan went well for me, didn't find out the sex although the sono was desperate to tell us 😂.

Only thing he did tell us is I have a Marginal umbilical cord insertion.
Only 7% of women have this. The umbilical cord connects within 2 cm of the placenta's edge instead of near the center.

He said not to worry baby is all fine. Will talk to midwife next week about it but think it will be extra scans later on.

Anyone else experienced this? X

jpaws · 31/07/2019 07:38

Glad your scan went well and baby is all good. Never heard of the umbilical cord thing but sounds like they aren’t worried about it so hopefully all will be fine.

Ooh can I join please? Due date 19th Dec with DC2. We have our second scan tomorrow. Always abit nervous as want to make sure everything ok with baby.
We still can't decide whether to find out the sex. With DD we found out. Had friends recently say it's more special to wait though.

KatieMurr · 31/07/2019 16:15

Went for my 20 week scan today. All good, baby very healthy, we found out we are having a little girl. Cried when I saw her little feet (before I was told she was a girl) it was emotional.

Comps83 · 31/07/2019 17:19

It’s a boy. She said everything was fine and was super positive, right up until the end when she said she thought I might have gestational diebetes and to come back for another scan in a month. Totally put a dampener on it for me as I was worried this would happen and I’m blaming myself for putting the weight on and generally being unhealthy.

Aww so happy for you all on recent scans @comps83 wow what a lovely clear scan hope you okay dont stress too much I also have to have the glucose test for the diabietes I still have to wait 2 more weeks for my 20 week scan I will be 20 +4 when I have it cant wait but also feeling very nervous as I still ain't feeling very pregnant dont know if it's normal everyone keeps saying maybe because I have an 11 month old to run after my mind is pre occupied I dont know what to think

Mamabear12 · 31/07/2019 18:52

Comps83 Why does she think you might have diabetes? How much weight did you gain? I gained 23 kilos with my first two pregnancies. Third time around I’m hoping to gain less! Before my holiday I gained 8lbs at 18 weeks. I return at 20 weeks and after all this eating I’m sure I put another 8lbs! Lol. When I return I’ll return to eating a bit better (meaning no sweets and ice cream every day!).

Forgot to mention, I didn’t have diabetes with my pregnancies. So weight gain doesn’t always mean diabetes.

Because the baby is measuring big
I’ve just sat googling for hours and most things say it won’t be my fault if I do have it but in the same breath it also says healthy weight , diet and exercise before pregnancy can prevent it, so me being me im going to best myself up about it
I actually have no idea how much weight I’ve put on so far but I put on 1.5 stone in the year or so before getting pregnant (taking me to a few pounds overweight ) and my diet could be a hell of a lot better . Gym membership has been a total waste of money.

Comps83 · 31/07/2019 19:19

Oh and I checked the symptoms and I have most of not all
Thirsty all the time
Dry mouth
Frequent urination
Urine infections (I’m on my 3rd lot of anti biotics so far)

Funnybunnyfluff · 31/07/2019 19:20

@Comps83

I also have to go for the glucose test as my brother has Type 1 diabetes. Midwife will give me the date at my next appointment. Even if u are it can be reversed but how did she know from looking at a scan?

Funnybunnyfluff · 31/07/2019 19:23

@Comps83 oh sorry I replied when I did.

Google can be a nightmare tbh. I try not to google to much. Don't beat yourself up.
Honestly xx

Mamabear12 · 31/07/2019 19:50

Ah, I think part of my major weight gain was I was quite slim before each of my pregnancies (including this one). And when I’m pregnant my metabolism slows. I do feel like drinking a lot of water and pee a lot at night. My dh pointed out that could be a sign of diabetes 😳 I don’t think I have it, but will def to the check. I’m a little put off on what they expect us to drink before! Hopefully you will be okay. In the meantime go on a low sugar diet. Try to balance meals w protein. For example if you have a piece of fruit eat it w nuts. Don’t go crazy on fruit. Increase veggies and healthy proteins. I know easier said then done. I’m going to do a major overhaul on diet when i return. I’ve been on an island and there is nothing to do when weather is bad. So I end up walking to the show (at least it’s a 20 mins walk there and back!) but I get candy or ice cream! We have had some days of sun and some bad weather so bad weather days I’ve been eating treats.

@Jowd92 I felt the same and although I felt a few flutters from the baby I've been worrying since my 12 week scan but lo and behold 7 weeks later I had my scan and everything was confirmed and she is totally fine so I wouldn't worry, especially as you have been preoccupied too with the wee one

Chicken101 · 01/08/2019 17:19

:-) new to this thread.. had 20 week scan today (I’m 21 though) and baby is due 13th December!
Everything looks good although kept the gender a secret Grin

peasando · 01/08/2019 17:27

So exciting everyone getting their scans! Mine is tomorrow - I'm still nervous but I've been feeling a bit more movement (I think - I hope it's not just wind!) so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I think there were a few others tomorrow too?

December2019 · 02/08/2019 07:28

Hey all you beautiful mammas and bumps I haven't been on for a while but just checking in everyone is doing ok?
I've not felt tonnes of movement with this little man (not compared to my first) anterior placenta makes a big difference in feeling movement doesn't it!
I have my 20 week scan on Monday and I'm so exited to see my gorgeous little human again... just praying everything is ok in there 👍

Jowd92 · 02/08/2019 07:59

Hiya I too haven't felt much movement at all only a few flutters mine is really worrying me I'll be 19 weeks on Sunday this is my 4th pregnancy and I dont have an anterior placenta should I be feeling more by this stage I thought I would be I still have 2 weeks to wait until my next scan

aliensprig · 02/08/2019 08:48

@Jowd92 I'm 18+3 so only a few days behind you and I haven't felt much movement yet, my midwife said it might take up to 24-26 weeks to feel anything regularly? I totally get where you're coming from though, it's so nerve-wracking. My next scan is 2 weeks today and time is going soooo slooowly 😭

December2019 · 02/08/2019 08:56

@Jowd92 now that you mention it it might have been later than 20 weeks I felt regular movements with my first 😮
I'm feeling the odd movement but very sporadic and not regular at all

Jowd92 · 02/08/2019 08:58

Its so worrying isnt it I felt movement strong around this time with my youngest but I suppose they say with this being my 4th my stomach muscle are much more relaxed now and my youngest will only be 1 next week just cant wait for my scan 13 more days to go and fingers crossed all will be okay

December2019 · 02/08/2019 10:22

@Jowd92 yeah the worry is bad isn't it!
My little boy is only 7 months so you'd think being pregnant with him would be fresh in my brain lol
The scans feel like they take forever to come around don't they, but I bet we will look back in a few weeks and think wow this pregnancy has flown by lol 😂

peasando · 02/08/2019 10:32

Just has my scan - all absolutely perfect! I was worried about movement too because I've only been feeling flutters (and only really for the last week properly - I'm 20+3 now) but all grand, she's doing really well. 💖💖
