wendyredhead - there is nothing in life that can't be solved by a spreadsheet. not only do i use them in my job all the time, but i use them at home as well. i've already built one to work out when i should go on maternity leave god, how sad am i? and now i'm admitting it to the world!!!

hope everyone has good (i.e. not too pukey!) weekends. studentmum - thinking of you particularly. i'm off to see my parents for the weekend now, to tell them they're going to be grandparents for the first time

wendyredhead · 28/07/2007 09:45

HolidaysQueen: yeah spreadsheets will save the world!! Great confession to get off your chest - glad to see I'm not the only one!

Ahh - it's the best thing telling grandparents to be that wonderful news! Have a lovely time.

SUN IS OUT AGAIN! It's a heatwave!!!!!!!!!

preggersagain · 28/07/2007 09:52

stundentmum- hope everything goes ok, scans so early may not be conclusive but hopefully it will show what you want!

All those with nice weekends planned- have fun, i'm spending the weekend tucked up in bed with a good book and some earplugs!

monthlymayhem · 28/07/2007 10:34

Hi Sweetkitty, I'm an Account Manager (yawn, yawn..) and most of my clients are London/Europe based so lots of 4.30am starts to get to the airport. It's going to be interesting to see how it all works out as I'm intending to go back full-time after 9/10 mths maternity leave, but am lucky that DH is in a job with lots of time off and I also work from home a couple of days a week when I get the chance Sorry I'm being a bit vague but until I tell people after the scan I'm paranoid that someone from work/RL might find out!!

Hope everyone has a sunny weekend!!

3madboys · 28/07/2007 14:27

wow loads to catch up on, ((studentmum)) hope all goes well, xxx

aghhhh i cant remember who i read what about now, preg head, i will have to start making notes

all ok with me, dp looked after the boys so i could rest yesterday which i needed, i feel better for it today.

re sex during preg, lots of you seem to be avoiding it, i was a bit worried but the dr seemed to say its fine unless you have an bleeding? tho dp says he feels like i am more 'fragile' now, so he is a bit wary, but not wary enough to give it up.

i should have my scan in the next fortnight, so am looking forward to that

merryberry · 28/07/2007 17:49

the problem with sex right now is that any rocking motions will make me sick

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 28/07/2007 19:51

Student...Did you have your scan today? I am so sorry for being so negative, i just didn't want you to build up your hopes too much for nothing conclusive. I'm really sorry.

3mb...I am avoiding sex because i desperatly want this pregnancy to work and will avoid ANYTHING that may jinx it! I am doing no lifting at all (except DS2 of course!), NO SEX, NO DRINKING (ALTHO I DIDN'T ANYWAY) sorry caps got stuck!

On the bright side, i woke up feeling VERY rough this morning. Am happy with it for now!

sweetkitty · 28/07/2007 20:44

studentmum - hope your doing OK?

monthlymayhem - sounds like a plan re the maternity leave, my audits used to start at 4am so I always had to travel and stay the night before.

3mb - I'm avoiding sex now until after the 12 week scan just in case with having that bleed. DP did suggest some erm other action but I told him brushing my teeth makes me gag and wretch so theres no way anyone else got that they wretch whilst brushing their teeth? Very odd can't remember it from the last times.

Nothing to report here bleeding has stopped am back to loads of discharge now. Still feeling sick so taking that as a good sign. Still will be happier once I'm back from the scan on Wednesday.

glammarjoram · 28/07/2007 21:02

hi guys, yes sweetkitty, brushing my teeth is making me retch too. Had a horrid morning with a blocked filter on dishwasher. Walking round gagging like a cat with a furball. Had to clean it in a fog of incense, but there's only one type I can cope with right now. DP asked me yesterday if I'd run out of perfume. He didn't realise it was making me so sick. Still, things could be worse. Sitting here with washed hair and clean sheets to look forward to. May even investigate the possibility of microwave popcorn. Someone asked on here about how pregnancy is affecting social lives! Ha, if it isn't an essential outing, child related or shopping related I'm stopping in.

studentmum1 · 28/07/2007 21:02

hiya, i have my scan at 10 tommorow morning, feeling really rough today, stabbing pains and general sickness!!

mumofmonsters its fine, i need to hear something other than "you'll be fine!"

my next door neighbours made me feel terrible, she told me at 5 weeks they'll see the heart beat for definate... so now i'm panicking if they don't see one!

WinkyGirl · 28/07/2007 21:08

Hi studentmum1 good luck for tomorrow. I read on my pregnancy calendar that the heart doesnt start beating until you are 6 weeks pg:-

6 wks LMP (4 wks gestation)
Babies heart starts to beat, though it's almost impossible to hear.

www.pregnancy.org/pregnancycalendar/

studentmum1 · 28/07/2007 21:24

i've just checked it out, thanks, i'm 5 weeks xactly tommorow, i'm not expecting a heart beat tommorow, that way when there isn't one i won't panick!!

spugs · 29/07/2007 10:24

hi everyone,, sorry to hear everyones feeling so rough. im still not feeling particularly ill which im stressing about as i did with my last succsessful pregnancy. also is it normal to start getting less cm after a while?

student mum - you dont need to worry about
the heart beat apparently in baby is under 6mm then its perfectly normal not to see it. its when its bigger then this that its a no goer. (plus 5 weeks is early)

im avoiding sex as well and have told dh he isnt getting any till 12 weeks think hes still worn out from ttc though.

imjin100 · 29/07/2007 19:36

hello all, hope everyone has had a good weekend, despite sickness for so many. I'm off for another scan on friday which I'm really looking forward to - it'll be 9 weeks, infact almost 10 so should be feelinga bit more real. - I wonder if there is any news from studentmum. We're off on holiday on saturday, cannot wait but tried on a couple of bathers today and it was a tear inducing moment. How can I be so big already!! Just in the boob area - they were never small but now they are ridiculous and no swim suits fit. Oh well,

Have a good well all.

MerlinsBeard · 29/07/2007 20:47

any news studentmum?

studentmum1 · 29/07/2007 21:03

hiya, we only just got back in... dp took me for some retail therapy! (topshop sale!) sad i know, well everything looks as expected. There is a gestation sac that they can see, it is where it should be (wanted to rule out ectopic) and it measures about 1cm across, this means if a baby is in there growing it will only be about 2mm accross so too small to see. The have now booked me in for another scan in two weeks, at which point they will be able to confirm a viable preganancy. My bleeding has stopped now tho and the doctor does not seem worried, Although i was not happy when she produced the scan equipment with a condom on it! V uncomfortable and dp thought it was hilarious!

derah · 29/07/2007 21:06

Hey Studentmum, glad the scan went well and DP treated you as well. But grrrr at him laughing at the scan equipment! Perhaps you should have suggested that the sonographer scanned him! That would have wiped the smile off his face!!

FlameParakeet · 29/07/2007 21:08
sweetkitty · 29/07/2007 21:10

Thats good news studentmum at least theres a sac and the baby is so tiny you wouldn't see a heartbeat anyway. 2mm aww.

imjim - lucky you on the boob front, mine still haven't grown any, think they are still in shock as I only finished feeding DD2 in March. I remember getting measured for my first maternity bra with DD1 (big moment was about 9 weeks) and I was a 38G think they got it wrong though I was a 34D to start with. After feeding DD2 I am probably about a 34B/C but have lost a stone and a half since before I got pregnant with DD1.

Not much else to report here am constantly shattered not looking forward to DP going back to work and having to deal with the DDs on my own again. Wonder if they will notice if I nap on the sofa???

3madboys · 29/07/2007 21:11

glad the scan went well studentmum

all ok here, still tired and pukey, a bit worried as i have my driving test soon and i dont think the examiner will like it if i have to pull over to throw up

papaya · 29/07/2007 21:12

great news student mum

studentmum1 · 29/07/2007 21:14

the cute thing was my dp's face! my dd was from a previous relationship and although i was pregnant with dd when i started dating my dp he never attended a scan. Bless his little heart, couldn't see a baby but he was nearly crying! arrrr

papaya · 29/07/2007 21:19

bless him! my DH also found to hilarious when I had an internal scan last thursday men hey !!

piekin · 29/07/2007 21:52

Hi everyone, have been out of the net for a week but getting used to this pg idea, and feeling more relaxed. Have had a little bout of nauseau but no puking, thank god! Hope that lasts!
Wanted to tell my best freind who I was staying with on hols last week but couldn't, sort of didn't know if would be o.k with her as she had an mc an an ep and is not able to have children now. Still haven't told a soul.
I've got a bit of bad skin come on since being pg, any one else got this and have they found anything that cures it?
My thoughts are with all of you who are going through scary times, wishing the best,xx

c4it · 30/07/2007 07:32

Hi Studentmum - great news about your scan! I've been worried about you.
