Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

@Anon120 that's awful I hope they hurry up it's a horrible waiting around period isn't it x

anitagreen · 28/05/2019 15:05

@MrsM18 I have no idea I assume so they said everything looked okay but it was nearly 3 years ago now I'm very apprehensive with this one as it's all changed now x

mitzi2019 · 28/05/2019 15:07

@mynameisMrG they didn't say a huge amount it but asked if I wanted to have another scan as I think he could see I was a bit shell shocked so I'm back again in two weeks for a ten week scan. They didn't see it at all at my six week scan so it doesn't look like it ever developed beyond a sac / no heart beat etc so I don't really feel sad about it, more relieved there's one in there that's hopefully doing ok! My googling has calmed down and it looks like any complications are associated with vanishing twin in second and third trimesters so I feel a bit better. What a bloody rollercoaster.

mynameisMrG · 28/05/2019 15:44

@mitzi2019 that’s good that they are going to monitor you a bit more then. I bet you were shocked!

I'm 8 weeks today and I'm starting to show already!

MoominMantra · 28/05/2019 16:07

I'm still anxious about what may or may not happen but trying not to stress.

MoominMantra · 28/05/2019 16:08

Is anyone else showing? I definitely didn't show this early last time.

MrsM18 · 28/05/2019 16:17

@mitzi2019 I can't say I know anything about it, but I'm sure this happens a lot more than people know about. Google definitely isn't the place to look - I'm sure lots of people have been in the same position with healthy babies x

leclarke91 · 28/05/2019 16:26

Hi @mitzi2019 that must have come as quite a shock! My sister-in-law was the other half of a vanishing twin and is a normal heathy 21 year old, with no health problems at all. I'm glad they'll be keeping a close eye on you though!

mitzi2019 · 28/05/2019 16:41

Thanks ladies, yep I think it's actually fairly common and happens in a pretty high proportion of multiple pregnancies. I wonder if it would even have been spotted if I hadn't had a couple of early scans because of the spotting. I know a couple of people who'd had vanishing twins in the womb with them too - actually I have a feeling my mum has mentioned this but I didn't know whether it was a sort of family joke or not (long lost twin sibling type joke). I haven't told her yet but will find out when I do. Hoping twins don't run in the family for next time Grin

Chantalle3 · 28/05/2019 16:56

@MoominMantra I didn't think I was. But laying down in bed last night (laying down! Not even standing up!) The OH said "oh yeah you are starting to look a bit pregnant". Didn't know whether to be impressed or give him a clip round the ear! I'm only 8+4 and first pregnancy so it's unlikely, but I feel like my body shape is definitely changing if not 'showing' exactly. NHS BMI calculator recommended I lose 5kg pre pregnancy but I've actually lost 2kgs since finding out I was pregnant. I think he made a mistake as he quickly exited the room and suddenly had a case of deafness! Halo

plipliop · 28/05/2019 17:13

I'm also 8 weeks and am showing.
Just look chubby tho! My waist has totally disappeared.

Mumof4andahalf · 28/05/2019 17:47

Hi all, was on the original thread.
Had an early scan today that's dated me at 6 weeks 3 days, foetal pole and heartbeat detected but on the report it says yolk sac wasn't seen clearly?
Sonographer asked if baby was ivf then said don't be surprised if it's twins, only 1 showed!!! Super confused now 😅

Lauraloop1516 · 28/05/2019 17:54

Hi ladies, I'm a bit behind most of you - just 4w5d - due 30 January. How have you occupied your mind? I'm finding it hard to not obsess - struggling to focus at work etc. So worried that it won't work out. I've been looking at the miscarriage reassurer website every morning! Any tips?

mynameisMrG · 28/05/2019 17:54

Congratulations @Mumof4andahalf 😊

@Lauraloop1516 it gets easier with each milestone; early scan if you have one, booking appointment getting your 12 week scan date etc. Also if you get symptoms like nausea and sickness they definitely occupy your mind. I'm 8+4 today and although the sickness hasn't gone completely, I feel human for the first time in 3 weeks! My day feels like it has gone past at double speed compared to the days of thinking about being pregnant every waking minute and/or feeling sick.

Chembecky · 28/05/2019 18:23

Had my early scan today! All ok with my little bean! Although I was a bit worried when she asked if she could do a trans-vaginal scan....I thought it was because she couldn't see the heartbeat, but she said it was just that my uterus was a bit tilted. Glad she did it though as we got some lovely clear images. Dated at 8+6 which is pretty much bang on my dates!

Loving all these scan pics! Wishing I'd held out for mine for a week or two longer, these slightly later ones look like little babies already!

Congrats to all new BFPs and mummy-to-be's that have seen their beans!

Lauraloop1516 · 28/05/2019 19:00

@chantalle3 - thanks for your lovely reply - that's really helpful! I'm a worrier by nature, so it makes sense I'm worrying about something as important (and largely out of our control!) as this! I had some symptoms last week, but not much just now. I know I'll likely regret wishing for morning sickness, but it would at least be reassuring! I've got a while to wait until my booking in appointment - about a month. It is really reassuring to see all the lovely scans on here - congratulations to everyone who's been reassured by their early scans! Xxx

Lauraloop1516 · 28/05/2019 19:01

@chantalle3 - also, when did your morning sickness start?

Glittergirl2 · 28/05/2019 20:13

Congratulations @Lauraloop1516 I was exactly the same when I first found out and spent all day at work on google and couldn't think about anything else. Luckily this has passed and I can actually do some work now haha! The weeks are also flying by now and I have my booking appointment tomorrow morning Xx

Chantalle3 · 28/05/2019 20:17

@lauraloop1516 some mild nausea started about 5+3 but it really ramped up just under 7 weeks. I find that anything more than 9 to 10 hours sleep a night makes a massive difference, any less and I notice, the sickness is much worse. I was glad when I got some nausea but it can be SO depressing. I think every single one of us has worried and been anxious. The group helps though, means you aren't the only person wondering if you've done something wrong by "eating that raisin that might have been 2 days out of date", "using the wrong toothpaste", "did I get too hot in my sleep" etc. I think "Irrational anxiety" should be listed as a symptom for the first trimester 😊

mynameisMrG · 28/05/2019 20:40

I’ve been in an awful mood today. My toddler is acting up, I’m so tired, felt sick all day and I gave up nicorette gum four days ago. I may kill someone.

However I have discovered Philadelphia snack pots. Omg that has made my day! Breadsticks and cool cheese.

Hope everyone is having a better day than me!!
