Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

@KMic -I know I felt shocking this or king feel better after about 11am i found last night that an ice lolly really helped my sickness for about an hour long enough for me to enjoy my dinner!
@BowiesJumper -I'm consultant m led too coz of a genetic condition I have, I've already had my booking In appointment the midwife still does that for me but then I have to see the consultant at foetal medicine and have a dating scan on 11th June then I'll have another scan 2 weeks later then I usually see the consultant just over once a month! Xx

Hi everyone! I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with no2. Due exactly the same date as my daughter’s birthday!

Took us five years to conceive my first and this was pretty much our first month trying for a second so I’m absolutely petrified. Tbh I had expected to only have the one child as I had been told that chances of us conceiving without IVF were less than 1%. I can’t get my head around the positive test.

Gillster · 24/05/2019 12:59

Congratulations Lady! I know how the feel. It took 3 years and IVF to get DS. This is a natural conception at the age of 45. Think my body is having a last hurrah before it shuffles into menopause!

KMic · 24/05/2019 13:08

Aww what a lovely surprise for you @LadyChancer ... congrats! x

LadyChancer · 24/05/2019 13:09

@gillster IVF and infertility is so tough. Ours failed and I promised I would never go through it again, I wasn’t strong enough. Congrats on your pregnancy! X
I’m genuinely scared. Had bad hyperemesis with my last and I’ve no idea how I will cope with a toddler running around this time. I really didn’t think I would have to deal with this. I didn’t think I would actually get pregnant again. Properly panicking!

TiredStepMum · 24/05/2019 13:16

@LadyChancer @Gillster confirms my view that fertility really is voodoo medicine. I don’t think anyone, even specialists, really understand it

mynameisMrG · 24/05/2019 13:24

Congratulations @LadyChancer

@LadyChancer I know how you feel about the Hyperemesis, minus the toddler part as my ds is 9 however i'm 6+3 today and no sign of it rearing its ugly head, it hit me bang on 6 weeks last time so i'm quietly optimistic. My friend is currently pregnant with her 3rd and has been sickness free despite having severe hyperemesis with her first two. So fingers crossed.

LadyChancer · 24/05/2019 16:11

I’m feeling rotten today and I’m only 4+4 😭
My sickness hit around 7/8 weeks first time around and it was horrendous.
Let’s hope it skips us both 🤞

primarywoodle · 24/05/2019 18:24

Nausea doesn't care about your good news @primarywoodle 😅

MunchyMunchkin · 24/05/2019 19:41

Looking like I’m out. Started bleeding at lunchtime (4+4).
Happy healthy pregnancies to those of you hanging in there.

DaisyMay25 · 24/05/2019 19:51

Nausea is awful! And everybody just keeps telling me it's good news!

I've just got out of hospital after having an IV... gonna have to start forcing myself to drink water I reckon

SleepingStandingUp · 24/05/2019 19:52

Sorry Munchkin

plipliop · 24/05/2019 19:59

@MunchyMunchkin sorry to hear that x

plipliop · 24/05/2019 19:59

@DaisyMay25 hope you're feeling better!

leclarke91 · 24/05/2019 20:04

Hi Everyone! Hope you don't mind if I join. I was in the old thread before it was maxed out. Bit of an essay coming up but just wanted people's thoughts...
Had a pretty emotional rollercoaster the last 2-3 weeks. Had some brown spotting and some mild cramps about 2.5 weeks ago. It subsided within 2 days time. However, last Friday I began spotting brown discharge and cramps were more painful. This lasted the whole weekend. Then on Wednesday at 04:30am, whilst at work, I felt a gush down there. It was bright red with clots. So I took myself to A+E. All tests were fine. I then had an internal scan at EPU yesterday. The baby is measuring perfectly to gestation (7+2) and we saw the heartbeat, which was amazing!
I was told I have a small fibroid (2cm) in my uterus but that shouldn't cause problems. The consultant couldn't explain why I had bled. I'm obviously super happy, but the brown spotting has begun again and I've been quite achy, also having mild twinges on left side. Should I just accept that I'm just one of these women who bleeds in pregnancy? Or should I be asking for further tests? I have read about some women who have had infections that have caused them to bleed. Should I be asking to be screened for infections? Sorry for sounding so ott but I'm a first time Mum and it's just been a bit of a tough time xx

leclarke91 · 24/05/2019 20:09

Also, just would like to say that I'm so sorry for all those with losses. My little scare was horrendous, so can't imagine what you must all be feeling. Wishing you all lots of luck for next time 💜

mynameisMrG · 24/05/2019 20:11

Sorry to hear that @MunchyMunchkin, look after yourself xx

Your experience sounds very similar to mine @leclarke91, did they do your bloods at a&e?

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 24/05/2019 20:18

Been to out of hours and now a&e as our EPU doesn't see you before 20 weeks. Nurse I saw has sent me up to be checked for an ectopic pregnancy. DH is home with DS and can't realistically get anyone to sit with him as it could take hours

mynameisMrG · 24/05/2019 20:23

Good that you are getting seen @SleepingStandingUp, I left DH at home with DS when I went to a@e too. It’s can be such a long wait. Hope you get some answers soon xx

leclarke91 · 24/05/2019 20:24

@mynameisMrG they checked progesterone, which was apparently high. They did check HCG but I never found out what the levels were. I did ask the consultant what the HCG level was, but she said it's irrelevant now as the scan was completely normal. Did you find out what had caused your bleeding and are you still bleeding now?

leclarke91 · 24/05/2019 20:25

So sorry to hear that @MunchyMunchkin 💜
