Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

@KMic the nausea is real here. I've been sick a few times the last couple of days. I finished work early yesterday because I went a very odd shade of grey, then just slept all afternoon.

Im thinking its nothing but positive, even if it doesn't feel it!

KMic · 23/05/2019 10:51

@McHelenz ... I wish I could think the same way, but I felt exactly the same during my pregnancy that ended in an MMC so i'm just riding it out and praying for the best!! xx

Starfish83 · 23/05/2019 11:05

Avocuddles, I'm so very sorry to hear his. Take care of yourself and hope you get a lovely sticky bean soon. 💐

Mummybear, I'm taking a conception vitamin but it has the recommended intake of folic acid in it, so will switch to a pregnancy one once they run out.

Thanks winter138, plipliop, Avocuddles, Camomila, DinoGreen, Mirana, Munchy, Chips and MummyBear for your replies re. hot drinks! I'm a bit of a hot drink addict - at the moment I'm having about 2 decaf coffees, 2 decaf teas (I really like the Sainsburys Taste the Difference Earl Grey Decaf tea) and a fruit tea.

Welcome saltandvinegar1. 👋🏻

KMic, do hope you can get something for the nausea soon.

If anyone is a strong salt and vinegar crisp fan, the Coop Truly Irresistible Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar ones are insane!

Hope that everyone's OK - the first trimester can be so hard. xx

SleepingStandingUp · 23/05/2019 11:24

I can't decide if I'm hungry or nauseous. Brought fruit toast as that's what I crave, smelt rank when toasted so had to let it go cold then couldn't eat the crusts. I've just settled for marshmallows as I can't think of anything I want to eat. Except KFC wraps and I don't have a local one.

Off to library with DS because he's a super cool 3 yo who's request trips include the library, the museum and the art gallery #tookoolforskool

KMic · 23/05/2019 11:45

@SleepingStandingUp .. Haha aww he sounds super cute!! It's an awful feeling isnt it knowing that you need to eat, but not really knowing what you fancy and just knowing that whatever you put inside you would make you feel better! It really is quite strange!! I am so jealous of the people who dont get MS!!!

Seahawk80 · 23/05/2019 12:19

@Avocuddles so sorry. I hope you have someone to look after you x

Baby4mum · 23/05/2019 12:58

I think I might be out as well. Got light pink - light red discharge this morning and was asked by EPU to come in for a scan. The sac they say measures at 6w but they couldn’t see anything inside it. Although they asked me to visit again on the 3rd at 7+3 for followup scan to see if anything progresses, but I am not keeping any hopes - especially after what @Avocuddles mentionedSadSadSad

KMic · 23/05/2019 13:09

I'm sorry to hear this too @Baby4mum ... nothing we can say will help at all. I hope you have people round you to support you x

mynameisMrG · 23/05/2019 13:22

Oh @Baby4mum I’m so sorry 😕 keeping everything crossed for your next scan. Take it easy for the next few days x

I'm so sorry those of you who are experiencing loss or worry.

I don't like this stage of pregnancy at all. You have no idea what's going on, you feel bad, you can't tell many people. Then if the feelings go off a bit you panic!

I also have this strange feeling like there's something I really want to eat or drink but I have no idea what it is 🧐

Cindy61 · 23/05/2019 14:25

Sorry to see the losses and worries in these couple of days.
I'm on holiday and trying so hard to avoid raw food. I still inspect loo paper and knickers Every time I go to the loo...Confused

Seahawk80 · 23/05/2019 14:32

Sorry to everyone who has had bad news.

Feel kind of bad about this given how many people have had bad news but I went to the EPU today after a week of cramps / spotting and a few sharp pains on my right hand side. Saw a little blob, in the right place with a heartbeat which was such a relief. Hopefully it gives some reassurance to those in spotting club that it's not always bad news.

ravepixie · 23/05/2019 14:41

so sorry to hear about all the losses. thinking of you all. please look after yourselves.

mynameisMrG · 23/05/2019 15:34

That’s great news @Seahawk80 😊

KMic · 23/05/2019 15:41

Dont feel bad for your positive news @Seahawk80 everyone is on a different journey and things happen for different reasons. When I had my MMC last time I didn't begrudge anyone else having happy healthy pregnancies :) It's great news for you that all seems to be going well! I'm off to the EPU myself on Monday and am hoping for similar news!! x

emma8t4 · 23/05/2019 15:49

I'm also with those who are super thirsty, food isn't holding any appeal for me, even though I'm not feeling sick, but i'm drinking loads. Also super tired with very sore boobs, giving me DS (9) is painful!! I'm also getting a bit nervous, at this point last time I was in the throes of Hyperemesis, this time nothing (so far) which is making me worried.

For those who have had/are planning early scans when is the best time? I'm currently 6+2.

Baby4mum · 23/05/2019 16:00

@emma8T4 - From today’s experience, I would suggest it is not very helpful going before 6+4 unless of course if you have an emergency or bleeding of some sorts. Otherwise you can be left waiting for a follow up scan not knowing what to feel.

@Seahawk80 - Congrats and I totally agree with @KMic. It actually feels good to read good news from people.

megganonion · 23/05/2019 16:03

Hi all, just getting caught up. So sorry for all who have experienced losses, fingers crossed you all get sticky beans soon.
I am 6+6 today(i think got pregnant 1st month off pill, going off last withdrawal bleed), the tiredness and hunger are driving me insane. Little breast pain but no nausea or heartburn just yet 🤞 my booking appointment not until 10th june, forever away in my eyes Grin really struggling not to book a viability scan, had early scans with my 3 previous babies had bleeding with all of them, none this time Smile

Andromeida59 · 23/05/2019 16:24

Possible TMI but I went to the EPU yesterday as was bleeding. Scan showed me at being 5-6 weeks but couldn't see the feral pole or heartbeat. Had HCG blood with 24876 result. Having another test tomorrow to see if it's all ok. Cervix was closed yesterday and no further bleeding but oy! The nausea! I feel so sick, hardly eating and now cheese tastes of soap. Have to drag myself out to vote in a bit. Just want to curl up in bed!

SleepingStandingUp · 23/05/2019 16:51

I have my scan booked for Sunday, when i'll be 6+6. I rearranged it from Tuesday when i was 6+1 as i was worried i wouldn't see anything. They only do two days a week and the next date after 7 weeks is son's birthday.

Quite a few people saying baby is due around their birthday, i reckon baby is due 13 days after mine and will probably bloody come on it!!!!

mynameisMrG · 23/05/2019 16:54

Fingers crossed for you @Andromeida59. That made me lol at the cheese. I had a jelly sweet about two hours ago and i can still taste chemicals.
Feel a bit bad for DH today. We have come away for a few days with DS and all I want to do as lay down. Went for a walk earlier and I just had to keep sitting down. Feel so nauseous and light headed today.

Sunshine3105 · 23/05/2019 18:31

I found out that Im pregnant two weeks before my birthday and baby is due two weeks after my husband birthday....Guess he would like to please us both Blush

CatRash · 23/05/2019 18:58

Sorry to hear about anyone's recent losses / worries.

I feel kind of worried that I don't seem to have much symptoms and am toying with the idea of an early private scan done. I'm 7+3 atm and it's my birthday soon so I might ask for it as a birthday present from my OH. I'm a little tired (but nothing unusual with a toddler), I'm a little bloated and I appear to have turned into the Very Hungry Caterpillar. All I want to do is EAT!!! I'm trying to stick to fruit, vegetables and healthy proteins but nothing satisfies me because what I really want is cheap salt and vinegar crisps and toast Hmm

At my booking in appointment on Monday the midwife weighed me and I just tipped into the obese category at 30.5 and told me I don't need to eat anything extra so I feel guilty about wanting to eat all the time :(

MummyBearBoo · 23/05/2019 21:00

I feel sick first thing and evening but I'm the same @DinoGreen I was on a kind of diet and going to the gym before I got my BFP lost Just short of 2st since November -it slowed quite a lot after beginning of January coz I was back in healthy range BMI by then! I'm now mid range in normal BMI so I don't want to put loads on but so far I've not felt well enough to eat breakfast in time to go to the gym coz I can only go when my DD is at Pre-school all day which is 2 days a week and it would be suicide to go without eating! Im not eating loads tho coz I'm finding small and often works best! Xx

Seahawk80 · 23/05/2019 21:12

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm over the moon, still having cramps but guess it's just stretching!

@CatRash I'm with you on the cheap crisps! Also I think BMI is a load of rubbish, I've met you and you're not obese! I was a size 12 before I had DS and came up as obese, I think if you're fairly short it just gets so skewed, I'm also very heavy, must have bones of lead!
