Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

plip my dh will be, luckily he works for the nhs so has arranged his meetings in that department for the day 😂 there are occasion perks to being married to an nhs worker - he bumped me up the list for my mri scan last year and we get 50% off dominoes!

plipliop · 22/05/2019 19:26

@primarywoodle amazing!

I'm sad to say I have gone off of my beloved coffee.
I had four cups of tea today but normally have two or three.

DH cooked dinner today and I was starving but couldn't eat it. I hardly know who I am any more!

I had to leave the table. Sad times people. Sad times.

I have had crisps for dinner instead.
Probably not the best option!

Avocuddles · 22/05/2019 19:32

Hi everyone!

@winter138 I start every day with a proper caffeinated tea. Usually have one more 'real' one at work, then stick to decaf / fruit or herbal tea. Giving up wine has been easier than I expected but life without tea is a step too far! Grin

Had my appointment at the EPU this morning after some spotting over the weekend. I'd assumed that I was 7 weeks but from what they could see it looked more like 6. My cycles were really irregular but that would stack up if id tested positive c10 days post ovulation which I guess is more than possible given that I used a FRER and also had a 1-2 weeks result from clearblue....
Bit nervous now as they could see the yolk sac in correct position and no sign of bleeding but no sign of heartbeat yet, so am crossing my fingers that the bean does some growing over the coming days! I did had some light bleeding after the internal scan but the unit have assured me that that's normal, and probably made even more likely by the fact that I'm on blood thinners. All seems to have stopped now so trying to relax and carry as usual. Have my booking in appointment next Thursday and a follow up scan next Friday so hoping that I make it through the week without any more dramas and that there's a lovely strong heartbeat by then....

Gosh so many of us have got to have follow up scans. It’s so hard when you don’t get that instant reassurance isn’t it

I had a tiny bit of brown cm this morning so panicked and made DH go buy me another test, it came up with a nice strong line.

Symptom wise my back hurts every time I lift up DS and I occassionally feel a bit faint but no nausea yet so I'm happy. With DS I vomited several times a day for 5 months!

@winter138 I've completly switched to decaff tea and fruit tea but that's so I can still have chocolate or a glass of coke.

DinoGreen · 22/05/2019 20:27

Good news for you MrG, good luck to those having scans soon.

Re tea, now I’ve found a decaf tea I can just about tolerate I’m having 2-3 real cups a day and then the rest decaf, which is probably another 3 cups or so!

Mirana · 22/05/2019 20:29

I have also swapped to decaf tea, but with my history of mc I didnt want any variables where I could blame myself. I've got the Tetley ones. They're almost oaty in flavour (?) And do have a slightly thicker consistency than normal tea (you need way less milk). They're okay, I have it with 1.5 sugars and it tastes a bit like roobos tea!

MunchyMunchkin · 22/05/2019 20:33

I went off tea in the first trimester with my DD, was most disappointed. I only drink 1-2 real cups a day anyway, rest of the time is redbush.
Again the evidence for caffeine in pregnancy is lacking. Just don’t drink so much you get a high heart rate.

poposaurus · 22/05/2019 20:39

Im having no symptoms at all, keep worrying Ive made the whole thing up! 😂

Baby4mum · 23/05/2019 06:47

@Poposaurus - Don’t worry - I am in the same boat, I am 6 weeks today but no nausea, food cravings or any other symptom except a bloated stomach, a strong BFP and breathlessness if I use stairs.

But unfortunately, my brown stringy discharge has turned watery pink today - no cm just pink water. I am dead nervous. Took the day off and will call EPU or GP

Sunshine3105 · 23/05/2019 07:07

5 days apatt....first one 2 days before af due and second one when 3 days late.have a gp appoitment today....think i will pop to EPU before our holiday just to make sure everything is ok as we would like to tell our parents....except feeling bloated and sore boobs no symphtons at all.....i should be 4 weeks +4......hope this little angel stick there till January

I'm starting to have concerns that there is something wrong with me! I had 3 pints of water before bed (7-9:30 ish). Then a glass of squash in the night time and when I woke at 7 this morning, I was so thirsty.

I'm so hungry too. I cannot get through the night without eating.

Just had two hot cross buns and I'm still hungry.

plipliop · 23/05/2019 07:22

@Sunshine3105 that looks like good progression to me!

saltandvinegar1 · 23/05/2019 07:34

Hello everyone! Can I join in?

My expected due date is 22nd jan. I went to the gp and he made the referral to the hospital. Was wondering when do they take your bloods at the hospital? Thank you

Avocuddles · 23/05/2019 07:34

Had some dark (almost black) bleeding this morning. Hoping it's an after effect of yesterday's scan but staying off work this morning and have prepared myself for the worst Sad took us almost a year to conceive this one so am really worried about the thought of going back to square one, positive thoughts please!

Chips84 · 23/05/2019 07:35

I've swapped to decaf lattes which I think are quite delicious. I have 2of those a day at most. Same as @Mirana with history of mc, I'm trying to avoid any variables where I could blame myself.

As for symptoms, I really had nothing apart from frequent urinating and a little more tired, up until yesterday, where my breasts have suddenly started aching. The boob pain is bad. 😬

Good luck to everyone having scans soon

MummyBearBoo · 23/05/2019 07:59

Great new @mynameisMrG
There's nothing wrong with you @plipliop -you body used lots of water when your pregnant for baby and to protect it the NHS recommends 8 glasses a day though if you're eating ok you can drink a bit less coz you get some from your food!
@saltandvinegar1 -your EDDbis my DD birthday I'm due 20 days before!
I have decaf PG Tios coz I find tetley not strong enough - I usually go off milk before the end of the 1st trimester so have black decaf -I can still drink it at the mo!
What vitamins is everyone taking? I'm just taking vit D and folic acid I find the pregnacare tablets too big and the tablets I take are nice and small! My midwife said that's all you really need so think I'll just stick to these you are supposed to get any other stuff you need from your diet! I might switch later on xx

DinoGreen · 23/05/2019 08:26

MummyBearBoo I’m taking the Boots own pregnancy ones - they’re huge so quite understand why you’d not bother! Folic acid is the important one. My diet isn’t fantastic so I feel like I ought to take the ones with everything in them!

I haven’t noticed any ravenous hunger or thirst yet. In fact I was on a diet before I got my BFP and had lost 6lb in a month so I’m keen to capitalise on this and not put loads more on, yet at least! I have stopped dieting though.

saltandvinegar every area does it differently i think. With my DS I didn’t have any bloods taken until I had my 12 week scan and then they did it at the same time.

SleepingStandingUp · 23/05/2019 09:08

@saltandvinegar1 bloods here are some at about 10 weeks, I think so they're there when you have the 12 week scan for the t13, t18 and t21 testing.

Ravenous hunter here too I eat every few hours but can't eat as much at main meal times so hoping it'll balance.

I'm taking the Boots Folic Acid and Vit B combo and told I need Vit D (plus aspirin for being fat)

KMic · 23/05/2019 09:24

Morning all ... OH MY DAYS the nausea is UNREAL! I'm 6+5 and just have a constant nauseous feeling going on ... I am also beyond tired!! ARGH! I am trying so hard not to moan though as I am so lucky to be in this position... but right now ... all I want to do is sleep / lay down. I haven't actually been sick yet - but I was only sick twice last time ... but oh my days ...... I dont know how to make it through the day!!!

Avocuddles · 23/05/2019 10:05

Hi unfortunately it looks like I'm out. Heartbroken doesn't begin to describe how I'm feeling right now but am hoping I'll be back on another board before long with a happier outcome. I wish you all the best and thanks for the support I've felt from this board over the past few weeks, really appreciate it x

Bentley111 · 23/05/2019 10:07

I'm so sorry @Avocuddles. Take care of yourself xxx

@KMic would definitely advise you to get to the drs if you can. My gp has been fab helping deal with sickness and nausea x
