ravepixie · 21/05/2019 14:15

I am 39 (40 next month) and i had a positive on Sunday but not getting too excited as i previously miscarried at 6 weeks but thought I'd join the group as I feel like I need to tell someone as only OH knows so far. we I have 1 darling daughter (27 months). Also, can someone tell me how do i work out my due date - i have a very long cycle (6 weeks) and when i enter my dates in it says i am 4 weeks but we only DTD on 24 April. i had a negative result on 8th and a positive on 19th. Should I test again? I look about 6 months pregnant though and have been both tired and bloated for last 3 weeks.

Glittergirl2 · 21/05/2019 14:32

@ravepixie congratulations! The date starts from the first day of your last period. There's lots of online calculators that work it all out for you. I'm using an app called Ovia which works out your dates and creates a calendar of the dates and how many weeks you'll be on which week. I find it useful to see roughly when I'll be 12, 20 weeks etc (providing everything goes well) xx

karryk · 21/05/2019 14:41

So so sorry for the ladies who have experienced loss. It's just heartbreaking. I had two miscarriages before I had my beautiful daughter at the third attempt, so I wish you all happy endings too ❤️❤️

I also had a miscarriage last year but I'm guessing my age is probably a contributing factor (42 next month...yoiks). I had some very light spotting the other day but it seems to have eased off for now so I'm sitting tight and trying to think good thoughts!

Some soreness of boobs and nausea that comes and goes. Oh...and knackered Grin

DaisyMay25 · 21/05/2019 14:44

So sorry to all that are experiencing a loss. Give yourselves time to grieve and seek support when you need it ❤️

I'm pretty emotional atm, I think the hormones are getting to me. I'm sick of barely being able to eat or drink. Work is getting hard and I just want to sleep all the time. I'm so so grateful to be at this stage (8 weeks tomorrow) but I just wanna start feeling like myself again.

emma8t4 · 21/05/2019 15:50

I had a doctors appointment and booking in yesterday. The doctors appointment was to plan premptive treatment for if I get HG again, the doctor was useless made me feel like I was being dramatic and at one point suggested a ginger biscuit before getting out of bed and that some nausea is to be expected.Last time i was being sick up to 30 times a day and couldn't keep anything down least of all a sodding ginger biscuit, i lost 2 stone and was off work for 16 weeks so a bit more than 'a bit of nausea' grrrrrr i was so annoyed, upset and felt like i'd been fobbed off again.

Moving on to the booking in appointment, midwife was brilliant and extremely sympathetic. In short she didn't book me in and has referred my booking in appointment to the hospital where the midwife will be able to request other drugs (that the GP wont prescribe) from the obstetrician, should i need them. I feel so much happier now that i have someone on my side.

Hugs to all those who have suffered losses or bleeds, look after yourselves.

Seahawk80 · 21/05/2019 17:09

So sorry to everyone who has experienced losses. Seems like a dark day today

@emma8t4 that is awful, I've been lucky to only have mild nausea, HG is my worst nightmare and I think it's awful that it isn't taken seriously. So glad you've got some help now

MummyBearBoo · 21/05/2019 17:57

Really sorry for everyone going through a loss sending hugs - I had a 6 week cycle too so my midwife puts me at 8+1 but I know I usually ovulate day 28 then bleed 2 weeks later so I think I'm 6+1-EDD from midwife is 27/12/19 my EDD is 12/1/20 xx

DinoGreen · 21/05/2019 17:58

Very sorry to hear about the losses. Take care everyone. 😢

I called my doctors today to arrange my booking in appointment, but the system has changed since I had Ds three years ago and apparently I need to decide which hospital I want and then call them directly to arrange my booking in. I haven’t actually decided yet. I live pretty much dead in between two hospitals. The one I chose for DS was fine, but it’s very busy and closes often because it’s full up. With DS they tried to send me home in early labour, telling me I was only 2cm, even though I was in a terrible state. I refused to leave and they finally found a room for me and re-examined me and said oh oops you’re 9cm Blush so that wasn’t great. But once I was in, the care was very good.

On the other hand, the other hospital is more modern and slightly less busy, and most of my friends have used it and none have had a bad word to say about it. So I’m wondering if I should try that one this time. I work near the first one though, so that’s marginally more convenient for scans etc. Oh decisions!

DaisyMay25 · 21/05/2019 18:07

@DinoGreen how strange they're making you decide this soon! Have you managed to look around both then?

Luckily a already know which hospital I'm using, I don't have much choice because the one in my town is very basic, so choosing the one I used for my fertility treatment

DinoGreen · 21/05/2019 18:21

@DaisyMay25 I had to choose at my booking in appointment last time too but i don’t think it’s that hard to switch later on if I changed my mind. I haven’t looked at one of the options, so might see if we can pop over there this weekend just to see how the journey is etc and what it looks like. They have a virtual tour on their website too!

DaisyMay25 · 21/05/2019 18:27

@DinoGreen swanky! How bizarre too though, they must've invested a fair bit into it. sounds hard work rearranging your appointment though, hopefully you manage to get one soon!

I managed a whole two hours at work then had to come home, hopefully the doctor tomorrow will sign me off until I can stand without wanting to throw up or pass out...

Catarinah · 21/05/2019 18:41

Hi everyone can I please join? I'm 30, just found out im 4 weeks, due January 24th ish, first baby!

MummyBearBoo · 21/05/2019 18:49

Sorry TMI but I'm 6 weeks and wandered if anyone else has a fair amount of watery discharge that is yellowish? I always get a fair amount of watery discharge when I'm pregnant but can't remember if it was yellow before? Is this normal? It's light and definitely not brown or red? X

DaisyMay25 · 21/05/2019 18:53

@MummyBearBoo I get like white, sometimes a bit off white. The hospital said it's milky, would you say yours is like that? They said it's completely normal

@Catarinah welcome! It's my first baby too!

Missmonkeypenny · 21/05/2019 19:11

Mummy I have watery CM, almost egg white consistency sometimes which can have a slight tinge to it although I don’t know if mine is made worse by the lovely hormones that I’m on!

GrandTheftWalrus · 21/05/2019 19:16

Thanks ladies. I'm not sure if mine is a loss as I was only 3 days late but I did get positive tests the day I was due on and the day after even though it was lighter.

The first time I ever got a positive test was in March 2016 and the result of that is currently eating pasta lol.

Hope everyone is okay xx

Catarinah · 21/05/2019 19:25

Haia! How are you feeling @MummyBearBoo. I'm surprisingly calm? I don't think it's really hit yet I only came off the pill in March and thought it would take longer as I'm 30, but obviously very happy! Midwife rung today first appointment June 11th. I'm curious, why do they count the first 2 weeks of not being pregnant as pregnant? As I only conceived 2 weeks ago but gp counted from last period.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 21/05/2019 19:34

So sorry to hear of those who’ve had losses Flowers hope everyone is ok and has plenty of support around them xx

The sicky feeling in my stomach appears to be here to stay and I’m finding work a real struggle right now. I work full time hours over 4.5 days and do all the nursery drop-offs and pick-ups, I’m knackered! DH being very helpful but can’t wait for this stage to pass. Only 5+4 so probably a while left to go 😢

Soph43 · 21/05/2019 19:37

Hi new thread! I’ve just ticked over onto 8 weeks..
anyone else feeling horrendous? I just feel ill all day and I’m so happy for 3 days off work..
and I’m so bloated I feel about 5 months gone 😕 I feel like I’m just going to get bigger and bigger :( xx

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 21/05/2019 19:39

Additionally DD has decided tonight is the night she will do whale impressions rather than go to sleep. Fab!

Catarinah I believe it’s easier to date pregnancies from LMP as many women won’t know the date of conception. Takes some getting used to!

plipliop · 21/05/2019 19:43

I had a massive curry for dinner yum!
Trying not to think too much about it though.
Just typing that made me feel nauseous 🤢

MummyBearBoo · 21/05/2019 19:43

It's not really milky it is more like egg white than milky but when I wipe its yellowish xx
