Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

@plipliop I feel you! Given all the baby stuff away, not even a muslin square to be found! Mine are 9 and 6 but it's still all a dim distant memory!

AnneTwackie · 19/05/2019 00:15

@grand did you want another child eventually? We had planned to try by Xmas but I was in two minds.
@sleeping so glad for the correction Blush

SleepingStandingUp · 19/05/2019 00:18

Tbf Anne if I told DS to get me a baby I'd end up with a small PJ mask figure. He keeps telling me he has baby Owlette and baby Catboy. I'm hoping it's not a prediction in what's inside my womb lol

AnneTwackie · 19/05/2019 00:19

@plipliop I told mine a week or so after I found out. We decided that if something were to happen we couldn’t keep it from them, also I was sick as a dog so no hiding it really.

AnneTwackie · 19/05/2019 00:20

Haha run Owlette by the naming forum I dare you!

GrandTheftWalrus · 19/05/2019 00:31

Wed said some things about another one but like you not till later in the year

Expecting2020 · 19/05/2019 01:23

Hi all, though i would jump in!

I am expecting Jan 23rd 2020 so very early days, but so excited.

I am 29, and this will be my first pregnancy, and I have two step children.

DinoGreen · 19/05/2019 07:54

Morning all!

Anyone else just keep forgetting they’re pregnant ... I keep doing things - yesterday I was on my fourth cup of real tea before I went oh shit that’s enough caffeine (luckily I rarely get the chance to finish a cup so prob only drank half of each one!), I also cleared out the cat’s litter tray and then remembered I’m not supposed to do that either (sorry DH!)

I told my BFF last night but haven’t told anyone else and omg this is going to be a loooong 7 weeks until I start telling people properly!

Gillster · 19/05/2019 08:02

To those not entirely on board with their pregnancies, I’m probably in the same club. Reckon I’m 70% excited and 30% what have I done? DS will be 4 when this one is born. I don’t think it’s helped at the moment by feeling so tired and having a constant undercurrent of nausea to deal with. Can’t help thinking about the cost and logistics of it all though. I’m sure it will all work out in the end. I really wasn’t a massive fan of the newborn stage though so definitely have the fear!

Expecting2020 · 19/05/2019 08:05

I also havent told many people (just my husband and best friend) and I feel so anxious abojt social outings. At my husbands brothers place and im worried about dinner and what I can eat (usually we just end up ordering take out) and then im away for work all week having dinners etc with colleagues.

Cannyhandleit · 19/05/2019 08:21

Oh I'm with you @Gillster, I found the first 8 weeks HARD with both my boys! Although this was 100% pregnancy now I am hit with the exhaustion and nausea while running after 2 little whirlwind I can't help questioning our decision at times! The doubt are only fleeting though, we are very happy about it just exhausted!

winter138 · 19/05/2019 09:31

Hello everyone!
I just found out I was pregnant on Friday morning with no.1 due 26th Jan 2020. Very early days but very excited.

Finding the social element stressful. We have been away this weekend with friends and it's been hard to give, i am sure they suspect. Before I am 12 weeks we have so many social things including weddings, hen dos, weekends away... so I guess I need to get better at this and fast!!

My other concern is that I rang my GP on Friday and the earliest appt I can get is when I am 8-9 weeks. Is that too late if I need a first booking hospital appt and then dating scan at 12 wks ? It feels like a long time!

Glittergirl2 · 19/05/2019 09:36

Hi @winter138 congratulations!!
I feel your pain I've been away all week on a hen week in Spain, I'm 7+2 and don't want to tell everyone yet. I went with the antibiotics excuse it was hard as they kept saying 'surely you can have one' but I think I got away with it... they must think I'm so boring 😂 my booking in appointment is at 8+4 I was told they usually see you between 8-10 weeks but think it varies depending on your area x

Cannyhandleit · 19/05/2019 09:36

Congratulations @winter138! 8/9 weeks is fairly standard for a booking appointment.

mrscatmad31 · 19/05/2019 09:45

I had to tell my MIL on Friday as she pours me a gin as soon as I walk in the door, Im not the sort of person to turn down a drink and I'm a hopeless liar! Got a family event today but hoping as there's lots of people I will get away with it, I don't really want to tell anyone as it's so early

primarywoodle · 19/05/2019 09:47

gillster im 100000% on board with baby, we were so desperate for another. But i keep looking at dd (almost 3 going on 15) and just think how the fuck am i going to do this!

Doesnt help that shes 100% mummys girl, wont even let daddy put her to bed and wants to be carried everywhere. We got rid of the pushchair just after she turned 2 cause she was fab at walking long distance but its like shes regressed!

primarywoodle · 19/05/2019 09:48

Im a teacher too! In F1 so being very vigilant for spring outbreaks of slapcheek, hfm and chicken pox 🙈

emma8t4 · 19/05/2019 09:48

When has everyone got their booking in appointments? I rang last week, told the receptionist about my previous Hyperemesis and she has booked me a doctors and midwife appointment for tomorrow, I’ll be 5+6.

mynameisMrG · 19/05/2019 09:52

I haven’t heard about my booking appointment yet. I had my drs appointment on Friday and she said the midwife would call in the next two weeks

MummyBearBoo · 19/05/2019 09:52

Booking appointment just needs to be before 10 weeks- I'm 6 weeks tomorrow but have already had to be booked in coz I have to go to foetal medicine for a dating scan at 8/9 weeks then a scan and CVS at 11 weeks to see if I can proceed with the pregnancy or not - 50/50 chance either way!!

plipliop · 19/05/2019 10:09

Aw @MummyBearBoo that's very hard Thanks

SleepingStandingUp · 19/05/2019 10:44

@AnneTwackie that would be too funny

I think each area does it differently. Here you don't see the doctor, straight to booking in appt at 8 weeks but hospital arranges an early bird appt with them to do prenatal bloods.
There was a muddle with my early bird, I cried, she rescheduled my booking in for this tues😂

Feeling crap today. Got a bad chest coming and can't anything for it so I'm in hot lemon and sugar! Back aches and I woke up with some pains up my middle which feel similar to my period so convinced something is going to go wring. Got my early scan Tuesday

GrandTheftWalrus · 19/05/2019 10:54

I done another test this morning and it was a lot fainter than yesterday. And I have bad period pains so dont think it's going to progress.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/05/2019 10:57

I'm sorry Grand, how far are you? X

Marshmallow1992 · 19/05/2019 11:45

Hi everyone, this weekend has been crazy! I got my BFP after 10 months ttc. Due baby no1 Jan 26th 2020 👶🏻.
