Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

@Avocuddles You're a lifesaver! Buying some decaf tomorrow, will deffo try yorkshire as the usual stuff is rank!

@MrsH497 Sorry to hear you're still spotting :( Are you arriving in the UK early in the day? Might be worth going straight to see an EPU near the airport.

@raligator We've both told our Mum's... I told mine expecting her to be great, and she's been absolutely awful since I found out, so unsupportive and negative. My partner's Mum has been amazing - we had to tell her as she smokes inside, and I'm staying with them this weekend. She's cleaned out the fridge, had a big dust/hoover, stopped smoking indoors since we told her and just generally been really sweet and considerate. I also told my best friend (as my Mum is being so shit) but that's it for now.

MrsH497 · 17/05/2019 18:25

@Mirana I am but they won't see me without a gp referral who won't do it without physically seeing me

MrsH497 · 17/05/2019 18:26

@KMic dark red as is the blood no pain I don't think

KMic · 17/05/2019 18:27

Still no major symptoms for me at 5+5 - just tiredness!

We have told a couple of people - my parents and a couple of my best friends ... I didn't tell anyone until I was 6/7 weeks last time, but after what we went through I just know I will need the support if anything bad happens and so have told those that I would want to know. Fingers crossed this time round is plain sailing though!!

Been painting and decorating today in our new home as we moved last week. It's so hard not to do too much or move anything too heavy ... but I'm just cracking on. It's a great distraction from pregnancy too which I think would just take over my mind if I didn't have this going on!!

Mirana · 17/05/2019 18:27

Also anyone wondering RE hayfever, pharmacy cannot sell you piriton or antihistamine whilst you are pregnant, it breaks their license, unless you have a prescription. However, GP put me on these today to try before starting stronger measures. Both are safe in pregnancy, ones an eye drop which is fine, the nasal spray is minty (thank god) so doesn't make nausea any worse but it does sting!

They have taken the edge off tonight but will see how it progresses.

@MrsH497 Is there a possibility that you could see an EPU over there? It's not ideal, but I'm also not sure about flying if you're losing red blood and clots.

KMic · 17/05/2019 18:30

@MrsH497 ... how much blood? Dark red clots are not a good sign I'm afraid. If you go to a&e they can refer you to the EPU straight away so that's an option for you! They will scan and will be able to tell you either way - although you may find out yourself before then ... I'm so sorry it must be so shit for you xxx

MrsM18 · 17/05/2019 18:35

@MrsH497 I'm so sorry you're going through this.

@Mirana Thank you for sharing those - I'm really struggling at the moment. Especially going to my best friends who has a dog, I wonder if they can help with those kind of allergies x

mynameisMrG · 17/05/2019 18:36

My midwife told me it was safe to use beconase with my last pregnancy too. That was four years ago and things may have changed so I’ll check at booking but it certainly took the edge off for me

@DinoGreen I bought Yorkshire tea decaf but didn't like it....! I prefer the Sainsbury's one brand one. But tbh none of them are as good as normal tea and it makes me sad! I prefer decaf filter coffee to decaf tea.

TryingVeryHard2015 · 17/05/2019 19:20

I had to tell my personal trainer as I lift heavy weights and couldn't lie about my under performance nor risk holding my breath. I'll tell my parents in a week or so. I also need to tell my dermatologist as I use acids and there's mixed opinions on them in pregnancy.

MrsH497 - I do hope everything is okay. I can imagine it is a scary time.

TiredStepMum · 17/05/2019 19:51

Me too @TryingVeryHard2015
Is yours a certified pre and post natal trainer? It’s worth it I think as I’m already panicking about undoing 3 years of hard work. I’m really hoping to obviously be very healthy about it but put on as little fat as safe and continue to train for as long as I can. I’m sure it will make getting back to ‘normal’ a bit easier!!!

Mirana · 17/05/2019 20:09

@MrsM18 The Prevalin specifically says "Treats at the onset of symptoms / hayfever, dust mite & pet allergies" You're meant to spray it when the allergies first start hitting for maximum effect, although using it this evening my nose and throat have stopped itching and my nose isn't running for the first time in days. All the packaging states it's safe for pregnancy and pharmacist recommended it, I'd 100% try it!

I'm feeling pretty low tonight, think everything is hitting me all at once. Had a lukewarm bath and had some very mild cramps for about 5mins and it scared me shitless. Having miscarried previously I'm so paranoid about everything, I don't want to jinx it and believe it. Every twinge I'm rushing to the bathroom lol (when I'm not in there heaving). My GP said today all factors considered (even with fertility problems and previous losses) I have about an 80% chance of reaching term, but I can't really believe that could actually happen for me? She said to focus on the positive and not get stressed or let the negative thoughts in, but how do you focus on the 80 and not the 20? She dated me at 5+1 so I have 2 months more of this. Any advice gratefully received.

Thinking of you tonight @MrsH497, truly hope you're okay.

Just catching up on the last few days messages...

@MrsH497 sorry you are going through this worry, especially when you are away.

Hi to all the new additions to the group.

I'm suffering much more with morning sickness than with my first. Or maybe it's just that having a 3 year old is making it worse as I can't stay in bed like i want to!

I'm another one with a 4 year gap, my son will be 4.5 and a term into school by the time baby arrives.

Does anyone have experience of pregnancy with an under active thyroid? I developed this after my first was born so it's new this time. GP antenatal team says I need a call with the GP about it, but didn't tell me why.

raligator · 17/05/2019 20:19

@mrsH I’m so sorry to hear this, thinking of you!

TryingVeryHard2015 · 17/05/2019 21:24

@TiredStepMum - My PT is fully qualified. I'm going to aim to maintain baseline strength and fitness. Didn't do too badly last time but we'll see what happens.

No sickness yet. Long may it stay that way. I can only imagine how fun it is going to be with a nearly 4 year old. 🙄

Mrsbond18 · 17/05/2019 21:25

Hi everyone, joining this post. Got my BFP on Tuesday. Have one DD who turned 3 in April. Wishing everyone lots of luck and hope your all enjoying your first few weeks of pregnancy and whatever it is throwing at you. Looking forward to sharing symptoms and feelings along the way :)

AstroKate · 17/05/2019 21:31

Just sent you a message @Victoriaaaaaaaa

McHelenz · 17/05/2019 21:46

Following on from my earlier "my pregnancy is a lie" post. I had to buy tests and test again to feel better. 😂

Hope you're being looked after @MrsH497. Is there anywhere on holiday you can get a scan for reassurance?

I had a big bleed with dark red clots at 14 weeks with my DC. I thought it was all over but all was ok and no explanation for it. There is still hope.

anxiousmotherof1 · 17/05/2019 22:13

@Ceejay19 please call the fp as soon as possible they need to check your tsh and possibly increase tour thyroxine

Ceejay19 · 17/05/2019 22:20

Thanks @anxiousmotherof1 . Got a call scheduled with them, they just didn't explain why! That makes sense though.

Ceejay19 · 17/05/2019 22:24

@Victoriaaaaaaaa I've sent you a PM (I think!) not entirely sure it worked so let me know if not and I'll resend!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 17/05/2019 22:31

@Ceejay19 I've got it and replied Smile
