A friend of a friend posted a due date photo yesterday and I'm absolutely shitting myself after seeing how big she is.

I want to be big! I think it’s exciting (until it happens-then I’ll hate it) Grin

Stroan · 08/05/2019 22:22

Ah @easterbuns1 don't be scared, everyone carries differently anyway. You might barely have a bump!

IVEgottheDECAF · 09/05/2019 07:22

I actually went to the delivery ward in size 8 normal jeans (unbuttoned) with both of my first two Shock

It is quite a different story this time!

23 weeks today!

happydays00 · 09/05/2019 07:39

I had a huge bump with DD by 38 weeks. But I have a very short torso and there is literally nowhere for it to go but out - I literally looked like I had stuffed a giant beach ball up my top!

I'm carrying much lower this time and don't think bump is as big yet but have caught a couple of friends / family members eyeing up my stomach so assume it's a bit bigger than I actually realise!

Stroan · 09/05/2019 07:48

I don't think my big toe would fit in size 8 jeans 😂

Fortheloveofscience · 09/05/2019 08:23

easterbuns I had similar - a fb acquaintance posted pictures of her baby shower and I was Shock at the size of her bump, assumed she was full term. She was 34 weeks...

IVEgottheDECAF · 09/05/2019 09:09

Am i the only one who still hasn't decided on a pram ?

Royal baby name does not affect us. Phew.

DancingUnicorn1 · 09/05/2019 09:13

Hi, I've not had a chance to catch up on posts for a while!

Was happily celebrating an end to morning sickness today with 10 days sickness free (will be 20 weeks on Sunday) when I promptly projectiled from nowhere all over the car just round the corner from work. Sad

I've come home and phoned in. Little bit of rounding going on but not big enough to be a proper bump - only noticeable to those who know me well I think. Still 10lbs down from weight at bfp so hoping to start putting some on soon!

Megan2018 · 09/05/2019 09:33

22 weeks today. I'll try and take another picture later and put it on the facebook group - I think I am enormous already but I do like it. I am short though and I think that makes it more obvious as less room to hide.

Not started looking at prams properly yet @IVEgottheDECAF
We have done our research in terms of having a list of ones we want to look at but not been near one in the flesh yet. We live a long way from the shops and have had such a busy few weeks that no time to go shopping yet. End of the month I expect!

stormtrooperjulian · 09/05/2019 10:12

@IVEgottheDECAF we haven’t started thinking about prams at all yet

I’m not too big yet (20 weeks), if I’m wearing a hoodie or something I just look a bit fat rather than obviously pregnant. I’m short though (5’1) so I’m assuming that I’ll be huge by the end as there’s nowhere inside me for baby to go! I’m kind of in denial about quite how big I might get though, saw a photo of a friend at 40+ weeks the other day and it scared me.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 09/05/2019 11:21

Bump size varies for me depending on what I’m wearing (and is probably a bit psychological). Was wearing shorts and T-shirt over Easter and think I look huge in the photos, but then this Saturday DH and I went out for our anniversary dinner and he took this photo of me to show bump looks small(ish) still even after 3 course meal. Maybe because dress was tight so only showed bump. Wore my big winter coat this morning and felt like a blimp!

Bump definitely harder now under the skin - think stomach fat as dissipated elsewhere for now. Not going to get on the scales - I’m just eating normally so no point in getting depressed over inevitable weight gain. I’ll look a couple of months postpartum and cry then!

easterbuns1 · 09/05/2019 12:00

@Stroan I was like a blimp with the older two, was fat all over so I think that's why I'm so worried!

Can anyone help with a child benefit question please? I currently don't take the money for DS as husband earns between 50-60k. But I've don't the calculations today based on having the twins as well and it would be beneficial for us to claim the money when they are here. We would just have to pay the tax fee. Does anyone else currently have to pay some back? How does it work? Do you do a tax assessment at the end of the tax year and then pay that fee back in one go? Or does it alter the tax you pay each month?

challengeyourreality · 09/05/2019 12:16

I am really quite large now (22 weeks) but am 5'3 and pre pregnancy was very slim. My other 2 dc were 4kg when born so it seems I bear large babies!
Great photos @Stroan @BridgetJonesDaiquiri

Megan2018 · 09/05/2019 12:23

@challengeyourreality I look the same as you, also 5ft 3ish.

Stroan · 09/05/2019 12:42

Lovely bump @challengeyourreality I also make large babies, DD was 10lbs 3oz but I think I've come to terms with it now!

Me too @easterbuns1 I couldn't bear to take any proper photos while pregnant the first time. I was determined this pregnancy would be different so lost 3 stone to get pregnant and was exercising every day. Planned to keep exercising and eat low-carb for as long as I could during pregnancy, then HG kicked in. Had to stop exercising and couldn't stomach anything but white carbs. I think the scales would make me cry just now and seeing smaller women with lovely, neat bumps can be quite hard (all my issue). But, it is what it is. This is definitely my last baby and I'll sort out the weight afterwards. I've already got my personal trainer lined up!

TwittleBee · 09/05/2019 12:48

21+2 here with 2nd baby and 5'4. I was certainly a lot bigger by this point with DS I feel and if I hadn't had a scan already I'd be worried about fluid and baby size but apparently my uterus is properly tilted inwards still this time. DS was a big baby for 37 weeks at 7lb1 and this one's measuring pretty good too.

Just booked into the One to One midwife service that's available in my area so I can start feeling more confident in midwives again hopefully. The service also is properly geared up for home births and do all their visits at home. Also rather than heading up to triage if I have any concerns my midwife will come to my home to assess me so hopefully no more long hours waiting in hospitals now.

Aww so many lovely bump pics!

@IVEgottheDECAF no Pram decision here either. I’ve done some research online but haven’t actually been to see any yet. There’s not a lot of storage in our flat so actually happy to leave it a while or it will just take up space!

db92 · 09/05/2019 15:09

Lovely seeing so many bumps Smile I'm 21+3 with a definite bump here. 5'1 and this is my first baby and am trying to embrace the bump as much as possible but it really can be hard can't it?!

@Tefiti2 I am indeed! I work in the Gynae and Obstetric theatres at the main hospital in my area. What type of ward are you on? I used to work on acute medicine back in the day.... Never again.... Mat leave wise I'm planning on using annual leave to finish at ~36 weeks (end of August for me) and starting mat leave itself on my due date. However, it's tempting to work later as the theatres have climate control and my house does not! Grin I couldn't imagine working on the wards if it's another hot summer whilst pregnant. It was bad enough doing it when I wasn't and they had ice machines back then too...

Pram-wise I've made a list of the ones I like the look of, but I won't decide until I've tried as many as I can out at the baby show. Will be looking at car-seats and cots while there as well if there's time after all the pram testing!

Dyra · 09/05/2019 15:44

Gosh I wish my bump was as nice as all of yours are.
