@TwittleBee glad everything has settled! Fingers crossed you have a restful bank holiday now.

@ClariD welcome! I've recently joined too. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you. DD (now almost 2) had very different issues picked up on her 20 week scan & had an amniocentesis at the time. All the waiting is horrible so I hope you're managing to keep distracted & I wish I'd taken my own advice of staying away from google!

ClariD · 06/05/2019 11:12

Thank you @sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops! I am also having a baby girl 😊 the first night after the scan was really hard, barely any sleep but I am avoiding Dr Google as much as I can and focusing on all the positives. Guess when she’s born there will be new things to worry about

iano · 06/05/2019 11:45

@ClariD we had a soft marker with our first. The scan a week later showed that they might have got their measurements wrong or he had a growth spurt.
Decided not to do the amino or harmony test in the end. He was measuring big too.
Totally healthy baby boy.

@TwittleBee Glad it's stopped!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 15:03

Baby Sussex has arrived!

Its a boy!

Fingers crossed they dont choose one of my top three names!

Whisky2014 · 06/05/2019 15:13

@IVEgottheDECAF tell me about it. We have chosen Arthur and we are set on it. I really hope they don't choose it!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 15:15

None of ours are typically 'royal' so we should be safe but keep seeing online how with baby only being 7th in line to the throne they can choose pretty much anything! I will not use the same name as them! I already refuse anything top 20 lol.

Megan2018 · 06/05/2019 15:26

I’m relieved it is a boy! Was in fear of a girl and being one of our names. Hopefully they will choose something hideous that won’t impact on anyone in this group!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 15:31

I am glad i have more than one name in mind lol just incase!

Whisky2014 · 06/05/2019 15:58

I hope they choose something tasteful but original. Sounds like we won't know for a couple of days

TwittleBee · 06/05/2019 16:00

Oh there is such a weird worry that they will choose our DS' name ! Massive congrats to them, bet the boy is a shock to most people as saw that how the bookies had closed of which sex the baby will be as it was thought it had been leaked about the baby being a girl!

How is everyone's bank holiday monday going? So bloomin drab isnt it?

boodles101 · 06/05/2019 19:06

Must admit, first thing I thought was I hope they don't use our name!

We had a nice day out at a farm. Both babies have moved right to the top and front of my bump and I literally feel like I could burst today. Hoping one of them moves soon or I won't be able to eat much for dinner!

Astret · 06/05/2019 19:12

@ twittlebee Glad to hear all okay!

We also spent Sunday collecting a haul of baby things from a cousin, so have now committed to the iCandy Peach 3. Might have been nice to go with the bugaboo instead, but absolutely couldn't bear the thought of the thing going to waste! DH found an isofix kit for our car so we're now all sorted for a car seat too. Today has been spent washing every single removable part of both car seat and pram/buggy to remove garage dust.

GemmaJen · 06/05/2019 19:44

We bought out pushchair today! Feel far too prepared, lol 😊

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 19:49

Did you get the balios s Gemma?

I still cant decide. I have about 5 i might buy....

Whisky2014 · 06/05/2019 20:06

If anyone is going for a cotbed..mwhich one are you interested in? I like the silver cross Notting Hill one but I think it needs additional chew bars and also has high fixed bars. Hmmm

Megan2018 · 06/05/2019 20:10

We aren’t planning to get one until 6 months but will prob go for an Ikea cot bed when we do.

GemmaJen · 06/05/2019 20:17

@IVEgottheDECAF yep the Balios, made the most of the mothercare 10% off. Looking forward to having it delivered. I don't know why but the pushchair excites me most, lol. Which prams are on your shortlist?

Stroan · 06/05/2019 20:19

I don't think Harry and Meghan will choose an Irish name so we're probably safe!

So glad to hear everything is settling @twittlebee hope you can keep resting for a few days

There must be some scientific calculation based on how pregnant you are and how annoying you find your husband?! He is playing the "who is more tired" game. Spoiler - it's me, always me, I'm making an actual human. But his is entirely self inflicted and is making him grumpy.

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 06/05/2019 20:19

You're all so organised. I haven't got a clue about buggies. DD will just have turned 2 when baby arrives so I'll likely need a double buggy...she's reasonably good at holding hands & being sensible but trying to keep tabs on her and push a buggy seems stressful. Not sure whether to get a double or tandem...she's so tall, she reaches the sun shade of most buggies so not sure what to do! City select lux has an interesting bench seat option...

TwittleBee · 06/05/2019 21:11

Stroan that would bloody infuriate me, actually it did which is why I stealthily screen shotted something on a pregnancy app to DH about how growing a baby uses as much energy as running X amount of miles everyday (can't bloody remember how far it was now, feels like a marathon though haha). That soon got him showing some empathy.

That's my only worry about not getting a double buggy sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops - if DS is in one of his moods where he runs off or throws a tantrum. He will have just turned 2 as well. But I'm thinking I'll probably have this baby in a sling if we do venture out on our own and I'll have DS' reigns and a buggy board too so hoping it will be okay.

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 22:09

I am looking at ....

Mamas and Papas - Sola2
Cosatto - Wow
Silvercross - Horizon Go Couture
Cybex - Balios S

That might be it actually. Unless i have forgotten a really good one ....

Astret · 07/05/2019 08:52

@Sugarsprinkles will they be confident enough for a buggy board do you think? Could be a better alternative to a double!

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/05/2019 09:09

With a just 2 year gap i would get a double. Probably one that can be changed into a single. My eldest wouldnt use a buggy board until he was much older

Dc4 is 3 in october and i am going to do normal pram plus buggy board and sling. But still a bit worried about it tbh and if need be will get a cheap double.

TwittleBee · 07/05/2019 09:31

I guess we just never take the buggy out now for DS (22 months) unless we will be out during nap time. Every child is different though! DS just hates being confined to a pram and mostly I am free to let him dictate (within reason) the route we take when out.

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 07/05/2019 10:20

I think we'll probably need a double Sad She's reasonably good at staying with me so we don't usually use the buggy unless we're going out for long walks but trying to keep tabs on her and push a buggy seems like too much hard work! She hates toddler reigns & won't walk with them on.

I can't wear a sling because of back problems otherwise that would be a good option, although in saying that DH tried with DD & she hated the slings/carriers. I reckon if she saw a baby in a buggy, she'd want to sit next to it. Although a side by side means it's time is limited! I've heard good things about the nipper but I'm worried she'd use it for 6 months and then we'd have a non convertible double. Phil & ted doubles look good because they convert but I know she'd be leaning back to see baby behind her.

Not sure about a buggy board- we have a bugaboo bee which she's really too tall for but we could use a board with it. We'll try her on one in John Lewis soon. I'm worried she'd get distracted when there's lots going on & end up falling off because she wasn't holding on properly though!
