@TwittleBee I hope all is well. Keep us posted when you get a chance Thanks you're definitely doing the right thing by going in if you have any concerns at all.

Does anyone have any thoughts on NCT etc? I didn't do anything pre-DD (planned section under GA) & will have the same again but I feel like I've missed out making the close group of mum friends everyone else seems to have from joining these groups. Not sure if it's a bit pointless if I'll be asleep for the delivery going to birthing classes though Hmm

DustyDoorframes · 05/05/2019 18:02

@GemmaJen my experience of mothercare measuring is pretty hopeless too! Have you looked at boob or bust? Google the, it is a really good method for measuring yourself and can be pretty mind blowing!

@sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops I don't think NCT is as useful the second time round, as far fewer people do it- your course mates are likely to be from further away which is much less handy for making friends nearby. But might be worth it if you live somewhere people move to as their families grow, so lots of people new to the area? Ouf, your births sound stressful!
Thinking of you @TwittleBee xxx

easterbuns1 · 05/05/2019 18:33

I second boob or bust for measuring advice, I didn't believe for one second I was the size they suggested a few years ago but low and behold I'd been wearing wrong size for years.

@TwittleBee I really hope all is ok, been thinking about you all afternoon.

Hopefully no news is good news and twittle is just busy resting

GemmaJen · 05/05/2019 20:35

@DustyDoorframes thanks, I'll have a look. Got to be better than what was suggested today 😄

happydays00 · 05/05/2019 20:45

@TwittleBee have also been thinking of you this afternoon and hoping all is ok!

happydays00 · 05/05/2019 20:49

@Megan2018 I hope you're not feeling too sad about having to give up the riding? I've have a few friends who compete professionally and kept up riding until the bitter end and most had problems in delivering naturally as apparently their muscles never truly relaxed enough. I don't know if this is medically legit but perhaps a small silver lining for you.

One of these friends was back on a horse 4 weeks post c section and her parents (who are both GPs) were absolutely furious with her as apparently it can lead to long term gynaecological issues, so perhaps worth having a chat with someone if you are thinking of rushing back in to the saddle post birth.

excitednerves · 06/05/2019 07:42

Sending positive thoughts to you @twittlebee . Even if it’s turns out to be nothing, it’s so stressful. Good luck!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 08:28

Hope all is calm for twittle this morning.

I am so pissing achey in my back, hips, legs, pelvis. Feel like someone has kicked me in the lady bits. Sad

ClariD · 06/05/2019 08:28

September 2019 here too and new to this thread! Just had my 20 week scan last week and have to go back this week (might decide to go for amnio) as baby had 2 soft markers (clubfoot in one foot - but it runs on the family as fiancée’s granny had it + cpc). Anybody with a similar experience?
I am keeping positive as baby is measuring ahead of time (estimated weight 421g - I am 21 weeks now) + all organs are OK+ moving a lot which are good signs against any sort of genetic syndrome.

kyles101 · 06/05/2019 08:40

I feel like that if I've done too much ivegot think I might invest in one of those bump band things.

Thinking of you twittle x x

@ClariD bless you, that must be worrying but as you say everything else looks fine so fingers crossed for you. Think they like to err on the safe side with everything nowadays and take a second look

Tefiti2 · 06/05/2019 08:54

Welcome @ClariD! Sorry to hear there’s some uncertainty but it’s really positive that all the organs looked okay, when is your next scan?

Hoping you’ve been relaxing and everything’s okay, @twittlebee xx

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 08:58

Welcome clarid no experience but good that you are getting extra monitoring

Kyles i have a support band from the hospital but have now been told by physio not to wear it too much and that i need to work on my core, easier said than done!

ClariD · 06/05/2019 09:02

@Tefiti2 next scan on Thursday and will most definitely do the amnio the same day. My Consultant is the one always performing the amnio’s at the hospital I am going to so that makes me more confident about the whole procedure ❤️

boodles101 · 06/05/2019 09:06

Hoping all is ok twittlebee and that you are resting.

Welcome clariD my DS had cpc at his 20week scan but no other markers. I was told at the time by the sonographer that it was quite common and if no other markers then they didn't worry or doing any further testing. At the time I didn't really know what it was or worry about it as the sonographer didn't seem worried at all. He said that most babies who showed it would have disappeared within a few weeks. DS is now 2 and absolutely perfect (except for constantly waking me at 4am Angry)

Stroan · 06/05/2019 09:11

Hope everything is ok TwittleBee X

Welcome @clariD I don't have any experience but hope you get some reassurance from the next scan.

Bump bands - are they comfortable? My bump just feels so heavy by the end of the day now but I also hate wearing anything too tight round it, my maternity jeans are like an instrument of torture already.

boodles101 · 06/05/2019 09:15

Stroan interested in the bump band chat as I'm already huge and thinking I'm going to need one in 3rd tri when I'm humongous!

ClariD · 06/05/2019 09:26

@boodles101 thanks for sharing your story. I have to say that my consultant was very relaxed and when I asked what the Cpc meant she said it was a variant to normal. But then I decided to check Dr Google and to panic.
She know I am the panicky type and thinks I won’t relax until U get the amnio done (and I have to agree with her). Just trying to take it day by day now and keep positive 😊

TwittleBee · 06/05/2019 09:30

Morning all, just a quick update. So nothing seemed to be getting worse regarding my cervix when I went in so they said for me to just keep monitoring again at home. I've woken up this morning feeling a lot better actually, still crampy but no worrying contraction like pains. Hoping this is just false labour and will not continue for at least a good few more weeks! Sorry I didn't post sooner, it's been a bit manic. Thank you for all the concern.

Megan2018 · 06/05/2019 09:33

Pleased to see your update @TwittleBee
Fingers crossed it all settles down quickly.

I don’t know about you but I am counting down to the 24 week milestone so at least once we hit that point they have a chance if born early. I have a friend who had hers at 30 weeks so I’m so paranoid about prem.

jazzyjellybeans · 06/05/2019 09:35

Delighted to hear things have settled @TwittleBee please rest and take it easy

boodles101 · 06/05/2019 09:35

clariD oh yes I'm sure there's some horror stories on Google. Absolutely understand u will be worried until you have results back. Would the hospital be willing to offer a less invasive test like the harmony or NIPT?

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/05/2019 09:39

So glad you are ok twittle!

easterbuns1 · 06/05/2019 09:48

Welcome @ClariD

Glad all ok @TwittleBee!

OP posts:
ClariD · 06/05/2019 09:49

@boodles101 my hospital also offers the Panorama test (basically same thing as Harmony) but the only thing that’s 100% accurate is the amino. Also, if the panorama comes back with an increased risk I would have to go to the amnio anyway so really not sure what to do.
