I dont have a number for my mw. I only have one for the first one i saw which i have seen two since! As i have no other symptoms i am guessing all is probably well but will get checked out if anything else crops up.

easterbuns1 · 05/05/2019 08:59

Glad things have calmed down for you both @Megan2018 and @TwittleBee, I seems to never be away from assessment unit with my eldest and like you Megan I was a 70 miles away at the time. Hopefully just been a wee blip for you both and no more drama x

@ColdCottage I'm having growth scan at 30 weeks due to previous iugr. It's not good just sending letters out for extra thugs without an explanation they must realise folk worry.

Hopefully it will be nothing Decaf but good should about popping to a pharmacy just to get BP checked.

Well I'm being totally pampered by DH this morning. Have a feeling I'm gonna have to head in though. I'll give it till lunch time, as the pains seems to be increasing again.

easterbuns1 · 05/05/2019 09:01

@IVEgottheDECAF your bp naturally raises when you are unwell it's a common symptom and you are still well in normal limits rather than having hypertension so I don't think they would be concerned. Mine is other way round, usually spot on average and in my boots at last two appointments but no one bothered and just been told to be careful getting up!

I hope you are all well and those with problems settle swiftly without further worry.

I called Maternity unit to ask about extra scans and she guessed it was linked to growth but said she will get my midwife to review my notes and call me.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 10:38

Oh dear twittle not surprised you are being pampered though

Megan2018 · 05/05/2019 10:58

Just woken up! DH let me sleep in after all the drama. No more spotting since so I just have to try and forget it. Easier said when you are a worry wort!

One good thing about going in was that we heard the heartbeat for the first time (they didn’t do it at mw apt), MW at MAU took a while to find it as she is still breech but curled up in a ball. But when she got it, she said it was textbook perfect, surprisingly strong and clear for 21 weeks.

I was away yesterday meeting an old school friend who I’ve not seen in 25 years! She filled my car quite literally with baby things. 2 bin bags of clothes, baby gym, cot mobile, stand for carrycot, bags of baby toys, baby bath etc. Her daughter was born on my EDD a few years ago. She tried to have a sibling but after 2 mc decided to stop and wanted to rehome everything.
So now I have quite a haul to look through today!

jazzyjellybeans · 05/05/2019 10:58

@TwittleBee thinking of you. Glad you are being pampered.

Megan2018 · 05/05/2019 11:00

@Twittlebee Glad you are being looked after but what a shame its not settled. Definitely go back in. Thinking of you x

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 11:07

Oooo that does sound like quite a haul megan!

We have lots of clothes, toys, blankets etc left over from dc4. I hope people will realise this and not buy us lots Blush already turned down an offer of relative baby clothes as have so much already and i do of course want to buy some things too!

How are you now twittle?

TwittleBee · 05/05/2019 11:54

Think I am gonna have to go back in, in a lot of pain now and although I have good chunks of rest from them, they last ages when they come on. Also just so much pressure down there.

Karigan195 · 05/05/2019 12:05

Sounds like it’s best to go back. Hang in there and sending positive vibes. Twittlebee

On a separate note, mothercare bra fitting service is very good!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 12:11

Bless you twittle i have everything crossed for you

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 12:17

Bless you twittle i have everything crossed for you

Dyra · 05/05/2019 12:18

Hope all goes well Twittlebee. Everything crossed for you.

TwittleBee · 05/05/2019 12:19

DH is making me feel stupid for wanting to go back, he said "well what they going to do anyway. You'll just be wasting everyone's time". Sure, he's been making me rest up but it's like he doesn't understand that actually this could be serious and they might be able to stop it getting serious if it is early labour or something.

Karigan195 · 05/05/2019 12:26

Honestly men! I understand there is a lot they can do to help if it comes to it!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 12:27

He is being unreasonable

If it is threatened early labour they can do things!

You are not being stupid AT ALL!

TheCraicDealer · 05/05/2019 12:35

Never mind him and go TwittleBee, this is precisely the type of thing you're supposed to be going to see them about. You're wasting no-one's time. Sending you positive vibes Thanks

TwittleBee · 05/05/2019 12:35

his argument is that if it was a proper possibility then they wouldn't have given me the choice to go home last night and that they arent really that worried about me. He also pointed out that these pains arent bad enough to think I am in labour nor have my waters gone.

urgh. I guess if I call the MWs they'll instruct me accordingly anyway.

Its like he just cant be bothered to care or he is happy to bury his head in the sand or its because he knows if I go to hopsital then he will have to look after DS when he gets gome

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 12:37

They told you bed rest, and they told you to come back if it doesnt stop. They didnt say "its normal pregnancy stuff take two paracetamol and you will be fine"

DustyDoorframes · 05/05/2019 12:39

Oh @TwittleBee that sounds like one extra thing to deal with!!! The hospital said go back, so go back you must. It's possibly they might admit you, and it could be for a wee while so take a bag. Or, he's right and it's not that worrying and they send you home. But given they asked you to come in you are hardly wasting anybody's time!!!!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 14:21

Hope you are ok twittle

Fortheloveofscience · 05/05/2019 16:29

Just caught up with last few days’ posts - hope you are ok Twittle sounds v scary.

Glad there was no indication of anything amiss, Megan Smile.

GemmaJen · 05/05/2019 16:45

@TwittleBee if it hasn't stopped go back in, or at least ring triage, sounds like your OH is being a little too relaxed about things.

@Karigan195 I popped into mothercare today for a bra fitting, left just as confused. They measured me 4 band sizes up from my pre-pregnancy size, which still fit ok, it's the cups which are far too small. I tried some of them on and it was clearly wrong. Think I've got an idea of what size I will be- just going to order online now. I guess with bra fitting it depends who is measuring. 🤷

Popped along to the local mamas and papas parent event today, it was pretty good. Got a free baby grow and bib and the talks we're interesting - positive birthing, baby first aid etc... We don't really have anything major to buy but I can see the money off vouchers being good if you did.
