@stroan glad you are feeling a bit better

ColdCottage · 04/05/2019 20:44

Had 20 week scan a week ago. Was told all was fine and no problems.

Just had 3 letters giving me scans every 4 weeks.

Has anyone else had this? I'm guessing it's to do with growth? The baby had 1/2 scans in the 80% and 1/2 in the 35ish % and then one in the middle.

Any ideas?

Megan2018 · 04/05/2019 20:48

I’m on the growth scans pathway.
No issues so far at earlier scans but it is routine here if you are old like me or had big/small baby previously or have any other risk factors.
I’m pleased as more scans much more reassuring than mw checks.

Dipsy77 · 04/05/2019 20:49

Hope all ok @twittlebee and @Megan2018 your in the best place. My spotting last week was probably down to my low lying placenta I had to have an internal and it showed nothing but was there all afternoon sending hugs xx

DustyDoorframes · 04/05/2019 20:58

Ouf @TwittleBee and @Megan2018 I hope this is just a very tedious evening and you get home calm and reassured ASAP!!!
@ColdCottage brilliant comms there from the hospital!?! I'd ask your midwife. It's presumably something fairly routine or you'd think someone might have thought it worth mentioning to you (!!). I'm on extra scans because a mild preeclampsia with DC1. All well with DC2, so it really is just belts and braces.

TwittleBee · 04/05/2019 21:15

Back home now! Dr examined me, cervix is open slightly and had a scan to see too. But waters haven't gone (I didn't think they had anyway). She said it could be early labour but i could have also just over exerted myself. She gave me a choice of bed rest in hospital or home and I chose home with the understanding I have to go back in straight away if it worsens.

Megan2018 · 04/05/2019 21:21

@TwittleBee
Hope all carries on ok at home. What a worry eh! Rest up. How long do you have to rest for? I’m still waiting for dr. He is here, but 2 in front of me yet. Then it’s an hour to get home. And my chickens are still out Sad
I am less panicked now heartbeat was ok, but they want to see if they can see the source.
I think it might be riding that’s done it. Which makes me sad Sad

TwittleBee · 04/05/2019 21:27

Until I stop feeling these pains! Certainly am worried, no clue how I'm meant to sleep tonight!

Megan if it has been riding that's done it then I think it means hopefully it's nothing worrying right?

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/05/2019 22:00

Hope you have a peaceful night twittle

And that you are seen soon megan

Stroan · 04/05/2019 22:17

Everything crossed for a good night @twittlebee

Hope you get seen soon Megan.

Megan2018 · 04/05/2019 22:20

I doubt I’d sleep @Twittlebee tbh! But I hope everything settles quickly. Still waiting. But a very unwell woman came in, couldn’t stand due to pain so obvs a higher priority. I am just tired. Been out since 7.30am and drove 150 miles today so could’ve done with early night!

TwittleBee · 04/05/2019 22:45

Oh jeez, such a long day for you! Hoping you'll be seen surely before midnight? Are you at least comfy?

Megan2018 · 05/05/2019 00:31

Cervix closed, no evidence of bleeding. Complete mystery! Just got to keep an eye on things and they did think riding could be behind it so I have to stop.
Bit gutted as I feel so well but needs must.
Finally home. Exhausted 😴

firstbabybean · 05/05/2019 03:15

Thank goodness @Megan2018!! I was really hoping for the best for you and @TwittleBee! Hope your chickens are cooped up safely too 🤞🏻

Tefiti2 · 05/05/2019 05:20

Really glad to hear all is well @megan2018!!

Thinking of you @twittlebee - did they give you a date to come back to be reviewed? Hope you had a peaceful night xx

GemmaJen · 05/05/2019 06:14

Glad to hear all is well @Megan2018.

Thinking of you @twittlebee, were you able to get much rest?

TwittleBee · 05/05/2019 06:56

Oh my what a relief Megan ! Hoping you don't miss riding toooooo much.

Managed to get sleep but woken up so early due to a Braxton Hick. Backs killing me too. I'm going to get up and showered and see how it goes. They said to come back in this morning if I need to.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 07:04

Great news megan

Good that you managed to sleep twittle

Stroan · 05/05/2019 07:26

Great news Megan. Spotting can really be anything at this stage which is a bit frustrating.

Thinking of you today @twittlebee, glad you got some sleep.

iano · 05/05/2019 07:34

Glad you're ok @Megan2018 and @TwittleBee! What a worry!!

@ColdCottage I'm on the extra scan path. I've been on that past from the beginning but they did explain why. In my case they are worried about me developing pre-eclampsia.

Can the MW tell you what their concern is?

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 07:46

Question re pre eclampsia / blood pressure

My bp is normally low like 90/60, i was unwell in the week and saw my gp who took bp and it was 119/90. This seems high for me. Although i know its not high in general. She wasnt concerned but should i be?

Never had pre eclampsia or any signs in previous pregnancies

DustyDoorframes · 05/05/2019 07:59

@TwittleBee glad you got some sleep! Hope this morning is totally uneventful!!
And @Megan2018 phew! (Not about the riding...)
@IVEgottheDECAF I'd ask your midwife if you have a number (although am I right in thinking you've been passed from pillar to post? Hmm) Preeclampsia/high BP tends to come on later and milder with subsequent pregnancies, unless it's a different dad, so I wouldn't worry. Now that you feel better (hoping you do!) you could pop into a pharmacy for a BP check, and it might have settled back down anyway.

boodles101 · 05/05/2019 08:45

Oh no twittlebee and Megan what a scary night for you both. Glad everything's ok for you, and you managed to sleep. Rest up today and do as little as possible and hopefully things calm down for you.

iano · 05/05/2019 08:55

@IVEgottheDECAF
My consultant said they start worrying if it's over 140/90 so you're probably fine.
Your 20 week scan would have included measurements for your uterine vein that would have probably highlighted an issue.
Call your MW though if you are worried. They can always monitor your BP closer to see if it spikes.

db92 · 05/05/2019 08:56

@ColdCottage I'm on extra scans too. To check baby size and uterus issues. It's sounds as though there are lots of reasons to be on the extra scan pathway. Definitely worth checking in with MW so you know for sure why.

@Megan2018 @TwittleBee , hoping you both have better days today and are able to rest up.
