TheLadyEvenstar · 10/08/2007 19:21

Lisa, Thanks I am looking forward to recieving it !!!!

I had a lovely day yesterday well kinda, We are off on holiday on the 20th and also our tenancy starts on the new place the same day. The bank upgraded our bank acct and said we were eligable for an overdraft so we went ahead with the holiday booking and new flat.....try to find out about overdraft today to be told NO!!! ARGHHHHHHHH but I have sorted the money situ out and we will be ok, if a bit tight for a month grrrrrr.

Have also told DP that his ex can wait for her flipping money as we have the move, holiday and baby to consider first before he panders to her fcking whims. I told dp that if she insists on buying her ds £50 shoes every few weeks then she can fund that herself. He can give her £100 towards his ds upbringing every month but no more. Think I may have upset him at first but then he was ok about it.

DS been a nightmare today as he is sulking BIG time. DP bought me the new harry potter game for my psp as it is too hot for me to go out at the moment and ds has the hump as after last time i allowed him to play my psp and he lost a game i have banned him from it. so today I am the worst mum in the world and he hates me, wouldn't get dressed to go to shop etc so now he having toast and is off to bed (he has had dinner don't worry lol).

I am sitting here looking at the pile of clothes I have folded today one for me one for dp and one for ds, and thinking OMFGG where am I putting all these. Not really got that many well maybe I have lol. Also wondering where I am going to put all the things i have in the home that belonged to Grandad, Nan and Dad...mum keeps telling me to bin them but i am finding it hard to do so, even thought i know the new place won't have the room to keep them all. Same as with the ornaments I have there are just too many and too be honest they are old as well....jesus why am i finding it hard to chuck these things when we are having a fresh start?????

oh dear did it again was only going to ask how everyone was and have ended up rambling...seems to be a trait of mine lately.

alicet · 10/08/2007 20:59

Chochobnob ? yes gosforth is silly prices really. Thankfully both dh and I had flats when we meant which is why we were lucky enough to buy here!

Ejt ? sorry your mil is driving you mad! Sorry about all the upset with your doula too ? hopefully it will all work out for the best though if the original one was more in tune with you?

Lisa ? I think its well out of order that the registrar wouldn?t talk to you because of issues with your religion. In fact unless you were abusive or threatening to him / her they have to treat you the same as everyone else as to do otherwise is predjudiced! I would put in a formal complaint. The reason though that you couldn?t have an epidural with your injections is that it thins the blood and increases the chance of you having a bleed around your spinal cord which can press on this and cause paralysis. A serious emergency. This risk is present anyway (but tiny without injections) and this just increases the risk.

Floria ? v annoying that link didn?t arrive! Maybe its in your dh?s spam? Anyway the website is www.auctionsniper.com/default.aspx - you should be able to register there OK. Let me know if any probs ? I will be online while we are at mum and dad?s

MrsFish ? glad you had a great holiday though sorry you have been sleeping so badly. Like you say though not long now! Although not sure that will help with the sleep issue!!! Having said that I found it a lot easier to dela with tiredness after ds was born than when pg last time ? somehow it seemed as though there was a point to it if you see what I mean?.

Pheebe ? sorry to hear you having such a crap time? Sending you massive hugs and virtual chocolate to cheer you up! Dh will be back soon too?. Look after yourself.

Hello everyone else!

I?m getting excited about going to M&D?s tomorrow although not looking forward to 5 hours in a car?. Quite uncomfortable to sit for long periods at the mo. Still there?s no rush so we will just take our time and stop as often as necessary? Will be able to get online when we?re down there but probably won?t be on as much. Hope you all have a good week and I?ll try and keep up! x

unicorn · 10/08/2007 21:07

Hello all,

Who is the first one due on October thread?
Have you all got your bags ready etc?

I realised today that I had better get my act together, I have been so,so slow getting my head round this pregnancy just expecting it to go on and on... but it really isn't that long now is it?

Boots currently have maternity pads on offer by the way... 80p for 10.. bulk buy now!

MrsFish · 10/08/2007 21:16

I'm the first due I think, have been given two dates, 30th Sept and 1st October, so could be either month

MrsFish · 10/08/2007 21:17

Oh and no, not thought about packing a bag yet... should I?

unicorn · 10/08/2007 21:19

well babies can come early (as well as late like my dd) - I literally had nothing ready at all, so have just started buying some emergency bits - just in case!

WinnieThePooh · 10/08/2007 21:22

I am due October 7th, But Dp has tonight said that he thinks this LO will be a week early,

Got some maternity pads and disposable briefs from Sainsbury's yesterday and started to think about what I will need in my hospital bag. Not sure how much to pack though, as don't kmow if they will keep me in or let me out after a few hours.

With DD1, I gave birth on Thursday and stayed in until the Sunday.

MrsFish · 10/08/2007 21:24

We ought to have a guess at when we are going to drop, and see how far off we are when they do finally get here

I told my DH that I thought I would give birth on the 3rd October.

alicet · 10/08/2007 21:30

I have thought about hospital bag but done nothing more than that! Have also thought about birth plan and got no further!

Think I have decided that I am going to go for elective section rather than vbac though so could be given a date anytime from 2nd Oct if I stick with this (keep changing my mind so often though that might well change it again!) Might also choose to give it a go for vbac if I go into labour before section date - basically as one of my big reasons for choosing elective is to avoid another emergency section. And if I go into labour early the choice is out of my hands - it would be emergency section anyway then.

So thats as far as I've got planning really !

lisad123 · 10/08/2007 21:32

Im due 4th Oct but if we go ahead with planned C section it will be end of sept. I have had my bag packed for weeks but only as i knew i would be in and out. I started to pack LOs bag today but dont know whether to pack tiny baby clothes or newborn as DD was so little. I think I might pack 2 bags for c section, so darren can bring one in half way though the week, saves me bring in loads

alicet; I met this registar last time i was in labour with DD. He left me in labour for 5 hours with DD heart rate at 200bpm!! When i suggested I didnt want blood used due to religious beliefs I got told to sign a form. I asked what would happen if things went wrong, would dh be able to override decision. His reply was very blunt "if you need blood and you have signed that form, theres nothing i can do. If you need blood and dont want it I will have to let you die" !!
This point I was in tears and he left the room. Surprise surprise 20mintues later my own consultant was there to do ob as he was suddenly feeling unwell Wish i had the strength to complain at the time

He also used to come on ward and tell us we could go home only to be told later by consultant that there was no chance of us going anywhere! Learnt my lesson after i went home twice and ended up back there the very next day. Just glad my consultant is back next week

Pheebe · 10/08/2007 21:34

I'm probably one of the last due (anytime btwn 26th October and 2 nov ) but I've started to put a bag together. Not packed, that would be tempting fate, but just piling stuff next to the empty bag. Same for LOs bag, I've picked out a couple of grows and a nice little set he can wear for photos. For some reason, DS ended up in a worn old second hand grow on the day the photographer came round so his first official photo was in something I hadn't even picked out for him Seems silly but it meant alot at the time.

Going to raid boots tomorow and stock up on pads and some of those nice little bottles of shampoos and shower gel etc. Then Ethel austins for cheapy big nicks, much more comfy than disposables and I won't mind chucking them after. I found that after DS1 I'd shrunk enough to get into my early stretchy pg clothes so now I don't fit them anymore I'll chuck them in the pile.

Hmm, I'm rambling, can you tell I've been on my own all day

Off to watch the eviction now

phee

lisad123 · 10/08/2007 21:36

Any suggestions on what to do about section dates? I know they normally do 38-39 weeks but i went into labour 37 weeks last time and really dont want Emergency with general if i go inot labour before then. Do they ever do elective sections before 38 weeks??

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/08/2007 22:09

Hiya all

I am due 15th october, but i have said right from off 13th september.....If I am right that will be second time as with ds they told me 26th August i said 28th July and had him 29th.

Mind you docs have said if lo is as big as they think then they not gonna let me go until october....panicking n scared now !!!!!!

As for bag.....i have nothing packed!

ChocolateHobnob · 10/08/2007 22:28

Hi everyone

Quick message... I'm due 31 October so I guess chances are baby'll come in November, which means I'm probably last! Possibly a good thing as I haven't bought anything, let alone packed it... not even sure what I should be buying/packing. I'd better get onto it and stop drooling over nursery furniture, clothes and toys!

This is a silly question but how are you all sitting? I ask because I gather I shouldn't slouch on the sofa, but annoyingly slouching is very comfy. Hands and knees is NOT comfy and I'm short and don't like sitting upright on chairs with feet on floor as feet don't nicely touch the floor (I'm 5 ft 2). Any suggestions for comfy sitting without putting baby into posterior position? Thanks.

Have a good weekend everyone!

lisad123 · 10/08/2007 23:13

choc I have a chair that that has a foot rest which is good as my short too 5ft. I tend to lay on my side on the sofa at home but its friends i tend to put 1 or 2 pillows behind my back for support. Hope that helps
L

muppetgirl · 11/08/2007 07:35

MOrning all,

I'm due 5th Nov but came on this thread as they said I could have the dates wrong by 2 weeks so you'll all have your lo's whilst I am still very very fat!

Need to ask a question if that's okay, I have had this bloody cough for just over a week, I can;t sleep through coughing. When I sit up it hurts my bump but last night things got worse in that I cough so much I wet myself (sorry tmi but I'm getting a bit desperate and now v embarrassed ) it happend again this morning and really don't know what to do!! I know I can't take anything but this doesn't seem like it's going away and in fact it's getting worse.

Any ideas?

Pheebe · 11/08/2007 07:57

Morning muppet, a bonfire night baby hey. Lots of name ideas there...

About your cough, have you tried inhalations (just a bowl of steaming hot water might help, not great in this heat I know). Other than that if its still there Monday I;d go to the docs. I had a persistent tickly cough a while ago and ended up with an inhaler for a month to get everything to calm down. As for the wetting yourself, try not to worry too much, its called stress incontinence and is VERY common in late pg and as long as your doing your pelvic floor exercises should go once LO is here. hope that helps

Got a lovely day planned today. Going to spend it with my mum and sis and do a bit of shopping, lunch at pizza express then the afternoon in the park with DS - train rides and ice cream

have a good one everyone

phee

ChocolateHobnob · 11/08/2007 09:25

Hi Lisa, Thanks for the tip. I'd not thought of a footrest - that's a brilliant idea.

Muppet, poor you! I have no advice, only the observation that my pelvic floor muscles seem to be disappearing! I think going to the doctor to see if there's any allowable medicine is a good idea though.

Pheebe, sounds like a lovely day! I think we're going to do something nice, too. The weather seems to be nice again and we're out tonight but today is free as things stand.

Muppet - hope you haven't coughed all night!

MrsFish · 11/08/2007 16:25

Have a good time Lisa.

Well I thought I would have a sit down finally and have a little read, I've been on the go all day and am shattered, but have to entertain friends tonight, so still have a quick tidy round to do. Its very warm here today and I'm sweating like a proverbial pig Hope everyone has had a good day

Chocolatehobnob - I'm slouching when sitting, its the only way I can get comfy

Anyone been getting really bad cramp in their legs and feet, it usually happens when I stretch in my sleep, I then wake up suddenly in complete agony, bloody hurts

Pheebe · 11/08/2007 17:30

Mrs Fish I've been getting that too for weeks everytime I stretch. I try and stretch it out as soon as it starts but it seems to be creeping higher and higher up my legs now grrrr

Had a lovely day. DS was an absolute angel and mum and sis spoilt us rotten. Sis is sleeping over tonight so we're going to watch music & lyrics I think. Could get used to DH being away...on second thought NO WAY!

Spoke to him loads today which has really helped. Can't believe how much I miss him, bit of a shock really how much you take em for granted.

j20baby · 11/08/2007 18:37
