Silkcushion - I can't believe you're at work. A year ago we nearly had to close the school as the toilets weren't working in the morning and it was a health and safety issue. Fortunately, they got them working again by the time the kids arrived, but otherwise it would have been an extra day off for us all.

I really feel for everyone living in flooded areas and can't imagine what it must be like.

Bunnybaby - loved the way you reacted. I am definitely more mouthy when pg, I think it's the protective instinct. I said very loudly to my husband as we were getting out of a lift that IT WOULD BE NICE IF PEOPLE LET YOU OUT BEFORE THEY BARGED IN when a family of four tried to get in while we were obviously trying to get out. And we had a pushchair too. You would think that people with kids would at least be a little bit more thoughtful, but apparently not. They did have the decency to look a little ashamed!

littleoldme · 24/07/2007 21:08

Poor old you silk. I reckon your employes will have had to give up on their cross your legs policy by tomorrow.

Hope you manage to sort something.

The bowser got refilled at 6.45 this evening. Empty by 8pm . Didn't get any of it though. DH works in Swindon so he brought a few bottles of Evian home. We've given some to our elderly neighbours.

Don't even mention my employers am v v v v angry .

I was the most senior person on site at Gloucester today and raised the issue with health and safety as I wanted the branches shut down. Health and safety team agreed - it was "business" that wanted us to stay open!

And guess what? Not only was I overruled but I also got a bollocking for getting involved!

W**kers.

Will get a shower tomorrow as I'm off to Bristol for a meeting and just found out our work premises ther have a shower

silkcushion · 24/07/2007 21:12

Need to calm down though. Silkbaby gets very wiggly when I am annoyed or stressed.

I like to think she's punching the air and saying "yeah mummy you tell them"

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 00:18

growth scan tomorrow at 2:20pm.. will be reporting back as to whether its pink or blue...

silkcushion - your employers are deffo w@nkers!!!!!

Good luck SGK!!!

RGPargy · 25/07/2007 10:18

Silk - you might wanna take a look at this page that i found on the HSE website. Your company are deffo breaking the law by not having proper flushing toilet facilities!!! GGRRR they make me so mad!!!

littleoldme · 25/07/2007 10:18

Silk - I think you shoulsd be Machiavellian about this. Next time someone more senior than you is in make them a cuppa laced with some laxative. We'll see how long you stay open without a loo then

SGK - Good luck - looking forward to hearing.

All is much jollier in the little house this morning . My back/pelvis has been getting progressively worse to the point where I couldn't stand up to get out of bed yesterday. Spoke to MW this am who is referring me to the physio an an emergency. Says I should have an appointment date by the end of this week. God bless the NHS eh.

Hi all, hope you are all well. Fed-up with everyone commenting on my "enormous" bump so bought a new smock top from Topshop and now everyone says they didn't even realise I am preggers - can't win!
Silkcushion hope your company comes to its senses soon, hate it when organisations so disrespectful to employees. The college where I teach refused to send anyone home in spite of rising flood waters a few weeks back until most of the roads home cut off! GRRR! Have a nice shower.
SGK how excited are you on scale of 1 to 10?
Bunny - I had similar experiences in town yesterday but found myself stepping out of way and apologising! Then wondering off muttering like mad woman.
Fellow leg-crampers I have found that so long as I don't point my toes or stretch my legs in bed I am ok

RGPargy · 25/07/2007 12:22

littleoldme - sorry to hear you've been in pain. At least you'll get seen soon, eh? Hopefully it'll get you sorted!

Sarahloumadam - As far as bumps go, it all depends on what top i wear. Yesterday i had no bump but today i have a large one, and all thanx to the different tops i wear!!

I have my scan tomorrow and both DP and i are excited to the MAX!! On a scale of 1 to 10, we are both at the 10 mark i reckon!

Cant wait to hear if SGK's is pink or blue!!

aikigypsy · 25/07/2007 13:06

I second litteoldme's idea of slipping silkcushion's management a laxative. That sounds about right.

I was away over the weekend and had an appointment with my new midwife on Monday. I'd met her before, and she has a great reputation, and she seemed like she was actually paying attention, which is a lot more than I can say for the midwives at the hospital where I was. I mean, the midwife group has a very good reputation, but from what I saw it was mostly undeserved.

Lots of vigorous kicks this morning.

gibberish · 25/07/2007 16:16

Come on SGK - you must be back by now!

RGPargy · 25/07/2007 16:18

Hi Aiki! Nice to know your midwife is nice. Makes all the difference doesn't it!

Yeah, come on SGK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 17:00

ITS........................

B LUE!!!!!!!

Sorry I have taken so long to get online and tell you all. I had to see the consulant and he is concerned that the baby's growth is slowing down, so will have to have another scan in 2 weeks.

RGPargy · 25/07/2007 17:01

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats SGK!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everything catches up with baby's growth in 2 weeks!

I'll tell you all my colour tomorrow!!!!

[really excited]

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 17:03

DH thinks by my reaction that its a girl, and he is really pissed off with me, and thinks I have spoilt the surprise!!! pmsl!!!

gibberish · 25/07/2007 17:36

Aaaaw how lovely Sparkly So exciting!! Hope his growth picks up though (is it funny being able to call the baby 'him' now?)

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 17:45

I can't call him 'him' because of DH, though now DH has done a turnabout and thinks its boy!! pmsl!!

What they are concerned about is the tummy measurements, as they have dropped from 50% line to the 9% but all over measurements are still on the 50%. My water levels are fine though.

Pixiefish · 25/07/2007 17:59

Congrats SGK.
I was back at the hospital today as well. Saw the consultant haeamatologist and just generally got confused. It's very complicated and I have no idea what he was going on about. Something to do with an antibody not being suitable for an iron transfusion. Hg risen to 8.4 or somehting and he doesn't want ot give me a transfusion if he can help it dur to the risk of infection. The only thing he can do is tell me to rest apparantly- fabby- so easy to relax lol. He reckons I should have had my spleen out years ago and wants to take it out after I've had the baby. He seems to think 75% chance that its the spleen misbehavi ng atm.
No idea really what he said

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 19:03

Its strange knowing I was right!!!

gibberish · 25/07/2007 19:56

Yes you did say you thought it was a boy So exciting! BTW my sister's waters have just broken - while she was sitting on my couch!! She didn't tell me at the time as she wasn't sure whether she had or not but just phoned me! So so so so excited

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 20:14

ooooooooo you will be an auntie soon!!

Have been waiting for a buggy to be delivered all day (a friend sat with the kids while we were at the hospital) and its not turned up!!!

gibberish · 25/07/2007 20:18

Yeah I know Auntie Gibberish We think she is having a boy too - not long before we know now! Apparently she is sitting calmly in their house watching her dh racing dementedly back and forth with his hands in his hair in a blind panic rofl!

Grrrr at the buggy - what a pita for you!
