and I know she will tell people, as we told her, on no uncertain terms, that DH's grandmother was not to be told about the baby (DH has nothing to do with his grandparents) especially since I have moved my care to a hospital near his grandparents house, and she has told her anyway. DH has told MIL that if his grandmother turns up at the hospital she will be told to go away, and she is not to stress me...

RGPargy · 22/07/2007 09:56

Thankfully we aren't affected by the floods at all, but it's scarey to look at those videos when you realise that Croydon is only just less than an hour away from where we are!!

Rachee - Welcome to you too!

Silkcushion - i found my DS's old babygrow the other day and i cant believe how SMALL it looks! I remember him being in it for what seemed like ages as it was my favourite babygrow for him. It's tiny!!!

SGK - Sorry you are still cramping - cant be very pleasant. Are you going to be letting us know your scan results after Wednesday? I have my scan on Thursday and we cannot WAIT to find out if it's pink or blue!

littleoldme · 22/07/2007 10:38

Sarah and Rachee - welcome to lots of ranting, baby talk and supportive loveliness.

Silk - good news about your colleague. Keep us posted.

RG- Your landlord sounds like she can real troutface Have you actually moved into your new house yet? Amazing vids. We seem to have escaped the worst of it. We live on hill anyway so should be ok.

SGK Sorry to hear that you are still crampy. Not long t'ill the scan now!.

I have finally finished marking my papers. I spent two days working my bum off and have spent the last two days in bed and throwing up! Hard work and Pg don't seem mix - more excuses to flop on the sofa.

I have a great recommendation for you all, Adsa full briefs!!! I brought the 12-14 size (normally a 8-10) and they are sooooooo comfortable, they sit just under the bump and are stretchy!! £4 for 5 pairs bargain!!!

sparklygothkat · 22/07/2007 11:34

Have just spent a hour weeding the front garden (its not really a front garden but a patch of mud with plants in it!!) We only moved here a year ago, we were the first people in this house, and yet we had tons of weeds (I think the builder just put anything in the ground) MIL said I wasn't to weed it, so I did!!! lol

choudru · 22/07/2007 16:45

Hello everyone

Hope you're all having a lovely relaxing sunday afternoon. Well, relatively relaxing anyway.

I am at mum's recovering from moving house over the past 2 days. It went well thanks to lots of hard work from DH and lots of help from family.

The place is a mess but I am just glad everything has been transported from one house to another. Only 2 mins away from where we used to be so that made it a lot easier.

Am relaxing now before going to York for a henna booking tonight.

Welcome all newbies! Hope your lives are slightly less hectic than most of the ladies on this thread already...

Sarahlou - I am going to Hull on thursday. Can't believe the devastation I've seen on the news - I would be absolutely devastated.

Littleoldme - feel for you and your sickness. It really is a PITA - if it wasn't for sickness I might have thought about having another baby after this one.

But now I shall pretend I am sticking to 2 kids to remain eco-friendly

choudru · 22/07/2007 16:50

And those of you suffering from cramps, check out this mumsnet page www.mumsnet.com/pregnancy/25to28weeks.html

Am 25 weeks now. Apparently that is the official start of THE THIRD TRIMESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am off to try and have a nap now.

P.s. RG - sympathies with your annoying landlordy situation. From past experience I have learnt to avoid dealing with family members regarding anything financial.

It always comes with some sort of emotional baggage no matter how great your relationship is.

Very cynical I know he he.

Pixiefish · 22/07/2007 17:30

RG- mothers eh

littleoldme · 22/07/2007 17:48

Choudru - Glad you are all moved and sorted. It must be a real relief to be sorted. I admire anyone who can move house and be pg at the same time. Depending on what the MW says re my sore part, I'm hoping to make it yoga on thurs. Third time lucky.

Off out for Yorkshire's best steak pie and chips now. Bring on the stodge.

Hi everyone

Just got in from an afternoon of fishing with my DP. I caught LOADS of roach, had some real biggies too!! I haven't been fishing for absolutely years so it was nice to have constant bites!

littleoldme - yes, we've been moved in now for 2 weeks. Finally glad to not have to go back to the old place. Hoorah! You are right tho, my mum CAN be a bit of an old trout at times

choudru - glad you're all moved at last! What an upheaval, eh? I dont think we shall be moving now until we emigrate to Oz in about 20 years!

Have a nice evening everyone. i'm off to have a long awaited cup of tea and then do the dishes.

xx

can't believe we are nearly in the third trimester (i am on wednesday ) whats very scary for me, that if I deliver at around the same time as the girls I could have this baby in 6-8 weeks!!! Hoping I get to the same stage as DS so that will give me 10 weeks!! Baby has been wiggling around like a goodun tonight, DH sat for ages with his hand on my stomach just feeling it.

silkcushion · 22/07/2007 23:25

Evening all

Choudru - glad yr all sorted now

Surely we can't be in the third trimester at 25 weeks

Water is about to run out where I live so I've been quite bad. Couldn't get water at Tescos earlier cos of panic buying. Bought diet coke to live on for next few days. I know it's probably not the best think to drink and baby seems to be wriggling like a crazy thing today and tonight. Could I have given her a caffeine high?

geekInPigtails · 23/07/2007 14:30

My pregnancy book says the third trimester starts at 28 weeks, so sorry to disappoint but we're not quite there yet! (the page choudru linked to was right, but a bit vague, because it was talking about a 4 week period) Still, it's surprisingly close!

silkcushion · 23/07/2007 16:52

Phew thanks for that geek. I've still got time to prepare for impending motherhood then!

Pixiefish · 23/07/2007 22:42

silkcushion- will you manage without water? What do you mean by about to lose water- totally lose it you mean or just drinkable water?

ara · 24/07/2007 07:59

hello everyone,
just a cheeky pop in while i am at work!!! my compuiter is playing silly beggars and i can't get onto t'internet from home at the moment
(sob) so i am missing out on all you news. Anyway....big WAVE to everyone, welcome to newcomers and hope to be back soon!

FCH · 24/07/2007 08:59

I got excited about the final trimester thing too, but I checked a book last night and it said 28 weeks too. On the other hand it doesn't seem all that long ago we all had a couple of weeks to wait for 12 week scans, so I have a feeling we will be well into the final stretch before we realise it (well I hope so anyway)!

Silkcusion - I hope you are doing okay with your diet coke. One of my friends has power but no running water and is having to collect water to cook etc from a tanker in the street, and she is boiling it all to make drinking water. I hope you still have supplies. I was stuck in all the trafic on Friday and was counting my lucky stars I only have a bump and not a baby to worry about yet!

By the way (question for more experienced mums here) noticed the other morning funny yellow droplet on a nipple. It was just one and hasn't come back (it appeared after sex ) but is this the start of leaky boobs and should I now be investing in some nipple pads just in case? Isn't it a bit soon?

littleoldme · 24/07/2007 09:01

Silk - watching some scary flood news. Hope you are all OK.

RGPargy · 24/07/2007 10:37

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all doing well and not too affected by the floods. Silkcushion - hope your water supply is still going..... /

FCH - Sounds like it could be the start of things to come for you so get out and buy some nipple pads lol!!

Choudru - how are you settling in now?

Only 2 days to go before i know if i'm having a pink baby or a blue one!! Yay!!!

BunnyBaby · 24/07/2007 11:05

Gosh - hope all you in the floods are managing, it looks awful on the news, though it has said that things are starting to subside, which may be some comfort.

I've also got bad water retention at the moment (6lbs in two weeks), I posted in the pregnancy thread and someone recommended water melon, so I will be trying that this evening. We also ate out a couple of times as had friends down over the weekend, so I'll just have to be patient and wait for my body to deal with the extra salt. Hopefully I'll be peeing it all out again

It was good to see you last week, and I'm starting to think about getting the bits and pieces ready for baby, and getting the house tidy. My nesting instinct must be really kicking in now.

I'm also going to get some more obvious maternity clothes as an ignorant commuter nearly bowled me over on the train. Some people don't believe in letting you off before they barge on. The doors opened and I went to step off, and he launched straight at me to push past for a seat. I think if I'd have been wearing a more obvious top, he may have backed off.

I used to play women's rugby, so I dropped my shoulder and squashed him into the bulkhead, and gave him a good talking to, and told him he was ignorant. I think I reacted without thinking whether I could have been hurt, and I was too shocked to point out I was pregnant. As DH pointed out if he didn't see I was pregnant he could have turned nasty. Normally I'm not aggressive, but I've noticed I'm more protective of my space since falling pregnant. I've been wearing a lot of tie tops which hide the bump, but I'm going to change my clothing tactics now!

Anyway - a bit of a long one, but may make you smile!

littleoldme · 24/07/2007 13:53

Is it just me or do most shops stock far more clothes for girls than for boys.

I can quite cope with the fact that our child will grow up to be hairy oaf like his father but I at least want him to look sweet when he's a baby.

Bunny - good on yer. I always pick people up on stuff like that. People only behave badly if they allowed to.

Water update.

No water at all in house since sunday afternoon. there is a bowser outside (little blue tanker) that the waterboard brought in the middle of the night sunday. But it has been empty since mon morning.

Drinking isn't a problem cos we can drink things other than water.

But toilets are a HUGE problem - can't flush them and can't have showers etc - having to wash standing up using a little bowl and a flannel.

This is due to continue for 7-14 days

We'll probably have to evacuate to family in South Wales. If work will let us all go. They expect people in our area to turn up at the moment with no toilet facilities. Imagine that

Anyway - got to put it all in perspective. Not as serious as my colleague who is still in intensive care. She is doing better though I am very pleased to say

RGPargy · 24/07/2007 15:59

Oh silkcushion, how can your work expect anyone to go to work if they dont have working toilets??!! Surely that's a Health and Safety issue, isn't it?? Especially if you're pg!!

I'd say fly like the wind to Wales and have a jolly good shower (not saying that you smell or anything ).

Cant believe that the bowser has been empty since yesterday morning! Are they going to refill it??

Poor you!!

xx
