SGK and RG So pleased that your scans have gone well.

Pixie - hope you are managing to get at leat some of that prescribed rest.

Just found a shop that sells re-usable nappies and had lovely helpful staff. Methinks they'll be seeing some of my hard earned before too long.

WARNING _ the woman in the shop said they'd had a lady in who had bought some totsbots from a web site. She's come in for some different nappies as the ones she bought had fallen to bits. On closer inspection it turned out that they weren't genuine totsbots even though they had more or less the right labels on them: they were ripp offs. So beware when buying nappies on line.

AGree Littleoleme. I'd only buy nappies from somewhere like Babykind which is a genuine online business. there's only 1 user allowed to sell totsbots on ebay- but personally I find them just as expensive as online shops so see no point buying them off ebay

littleoldme · 26/07/2007 17:25

Yeah - Is suppose new parents are seen as easy targets as they have no experience of buying stuff like nappies and may well be too tired to make the best decisions. Thank goodness for mumsnet eh.

Hi all - thought I'd get a quick post in before my PC goes funny on me again - it's taking so long to load the site (over an hour at one point that I'm wondering if it's virus checking every thread!!!!! - v frustrating )

RGPargy - congratulations on your little pink one - I was wrong every time too. When DS popped out I just kept on saying "OMG I have a son!" over and over and grinning like a loon - even though we'd had it all confirmed by scan. I'm so pleased for you.

littleoldme - unbelieveable the things you can get scammed on isn't it! I tend to go for the manufacturers sites too though I've bought nappies & stuff off here a fair few timesand never had a problem (I'm inclined to think you're pretty safe here as anyone'd be hounded out if they tried to sell anything dodgy)

Not a great deal to report apart from a very wobbly feeling pelvis (discovered I couldn't speed-walk when I was late to collect DS yesterday) LO is a complete thug (keeps kicking down into my fanjo - ouch) and very, very active. I keep having to get DH to put his hand on my bump as it's the only thing that keeps the baby still. DS likes to use me as a climbing frame (all elbows & knees) so I've been a bit frazzled being attacked from outside and in!!!

Hope everyone else is ok. I can't believe our LOs are all over 1/2 way cooked already! onward and outwards eh will try to keep up & sort the PC out so I can post more. PPx

Wow, such a busy day yesterday for me and DP!!

This is what we did:

Went to accountants
Went to DP's mum's for a quick cuppa before hospital
Went to hospital
Popped home to measure up
Went to B&Q to look at bedroom stuff
Went to Ikea to look at bedroom stuff
Went to pick up my friend to show her my new house
Took my friend home again after a couple of hours
Flopped into bed, totally exhausted!

Cant believe i did all that in one day. The Ikea trip was a mission as it's huuuuuge!! I have plantar fasciitis in my left heel and it's really playing up today!

Still, one great thing was that when i got into bed, i could feel the baby wriggling around. I turned onto my side and was just on the verge of saying to DP "baby's having a real good wriggle" when suddenly..... W H A M ! ! ! I got a massive kick!!!!! Yay!!!! It took my breath away and i was like "ooo!! I got a kick!!". Hopefully (?) this is the start of many more kicks from my little girl (it's still weird thinking i have a girl in there!) and finally i know it's my placenta that's been taking all the blows!

Sorry for the ramble. I am still very giddy about the scan yesterday hehehe.

RGPargy · 27/07/2007 10:29

Loopy - your poor moggy!! What's up with him/her? I hope they feel better very soon!

Busy day indeed RG. I think you are very brave going to IKEA. I hate it in there, it's so disorientating and I always get lost - glad you got a def kick. Lovely isn't it.

Loopy - glad to hear your cat is on the mend. They can be pricely things when they get poorly.

Purple - sounds like you family are bashing you from outside and in. There are help lines for that sort of thing.

I'm currently trying to summon up enthusiasm for decorating our hallway. YAWN

RGPargy · 27/07/2007 15:58

Worst thing is, littleoldme, we have to go BACK up there to order what we want as they dont deliver to our area!!!

Still, we know exactly what we want at least, so we wont be faffing around thank god!!!

Decorating your hallway??? But it's time for Jezzer Kyle now isn't it??

littleoldme · 27/07/2007 16:31

What a pia. At leat you've got a lovely new house to put it in when you do get it. Until last year we had a fab big grey old VW van which was excellent for furniture fetching trips. Unfortunately it blew up but I still miss it.

Yeah hallway has to be done I'm afraid. It's one of those never ending jobs. Must get a new carpet so need to decorate scuffed, marked walls first, plaster old and cracked so needs doing before painting then there's the skirting boards... Needless to to say I'm just painting over cracks and using polyfilla. Can't be arsed with all that faffing and expense. So no Jezza K for me today.

A little some thing to make you chortle. My sister is due in September. The last time she went to her mw she ate a bag of flumps, those marshmallow things, before she went in. Her blood came back with crazy sugar so she had to spend a happy morning in the hosp being tested for gestational diabetes!

OP posts:
RGPargy · 27/07/2007 17:15

NOTE TO SELF : Dont eat flumps before mw appointment!

AnnainNZ · 27/07/2007 17:26

Flumps! That takes me back...

sparklygothkat · 27/07/2007 18:52

am at my SIL for a few days, so won't be about for few days... still strange knowing what the baby is and DH is still none the wiser!!!

evening. just watching BB for a bit

pinklady82 · 27/07/2007 23:00

Hi all, saw the BB interview and the others going in, wish they would stop putting new house mates in now though. As much as I love to watch the programme with more people in again it does seem like it is going on for ages!
Am really suffering at the moment with SPD does anyone else have this problem in pregnancy? This is 2nd pregnancy and have had it with both although does seem to be worse already this time oooch!!

purplepants · 28/07/2007 10:10

pinklady82 - I didn't get SPD with the last 2 but my whole pelvis feels decidedly unstable with this one. It must be horrible when it hurts too. Lots of remembering to keep knees together eh!!

littleoldme · 28/07/2007 10:56

Pink - I'm pretty sure I have SPD. I spoke to my MW who is referring me for physio as there have been a few times I've been unable to get out of bed or off the sofa - due to ouch not laziness. I also hate not being able to walk very far.

I'm a fit 31 year old who can't walk easily for more than 10mins. That just aint right.

Did anyone hear the Woman's Hour item on ante natal screening? V interesting , you should get it on the listen again.

does anyone know what low protin S means? Apparently according to my notes I have low protin S (62%) and should be tested after I have had the baby.
