Hello all

I wouldn't say I'm craving as such, but I can't get enough of Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps and (this is really bad) Ginsters Cornish Pasties! I've been eating a pastie a day for my lunch and they're gorgeous, but they're so bad for you!!!

I'm certainly enjoying a bit of a burst of energy recently - I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm blooming, but I'm not the zombie I used to be! Also really enjoying being able to feel movements and having a noticeable bump. Can't believe I'll be 20 weeks on Saturday - that's so scary! The movements are starting to pick up as well - while before they were flutters and tickles, now they're definite kicks and punches, and coming from both sides of my belly. The sensation is really quite bizarre, if you'll excuse the slightly gross analogy, its a bit like just before you're about to have really bad diarrhea, when your insides go all wurbly. Thankfully its just the wurbliness, and thats great though

Morning ladies

Beller ? I think I was at my most unfit when I got pg I guess that means I can only improve afterwards!

PCM ? where have you been?! Missed you! how dare you have a life! 16 weeks fabby ? feeling good? Got a bump? We didn?t have the test either. Have a lovely holiday and hope all goes well at the 20wk. Check in!!!!

PinkElephant ? my Folks are abroad so I know what you mean about distance. Glad bump is helping you on bet bump really perks up your folks too where are you headaches? Mine are mostly between the eyes but recently right at the back of the head ? ouch! Thanks for your excitement for me

Housemum ? PMSL at DD hope the builders finish soon.

Cazzybaby ? not heard that about those special DS scans post nuchal.

Mixedmama ? howz the new seat?

Angechica ? I know exactly what you mean about the energy, what a good way to describe it!! Interesting thought of Dr Miriam

Bettymama your DD sounds sweet.

Naetha it?s exciting hearing all your changes, I?m just over 2 weeks behind you

MotherofZ · 08/08/2007 12:11

bettymama - boobs are heading south as well!

Will they ever perk up again?? Anything we can do without surgery?

Can feel proper kicks in my pelvis. Hubby put his hand on my stomach a couple nights ago and could feel the movements too. He was well excited. Started saying the usually blokey thing 'Bet this babyis going to be into football'!! lol
sweet though!

beller · 08/08/2007 12:16

Angechica- thats a great description and how i feel...although like Naetha, mine are getting stronger now...20 weeks friday!

Bettymamma · 08/08/2007 12:19

Naetha I'm the same re the recent burst of energy. Pasties are fabulous. I'm into savoury pastries for breakfast from Delice de France. Has a really low fat tea last night of homemade thai veg red curry. Have been so hungry this morning because of it and eaten rubbish all day.

MrsMcJ - My dd is the cutest - I could eat her, she is so yummy. I must stop this - i bore people at work with it all day long. I was the most unmaternal person before i had her.

MotherofZ - Boobs - I don't know if they can perk up after the 2nd time?? I find if i sit in a certain way - they now sit on my stomach like a couple of sacks of lard. Sorry everyone Hubby hasn't been able to feel baby move yet much to his annoyance. It kicked his face when he spoke to it the other day but he didn't realise.

Am going to post this here and on New year thread as want as many opinions as poss...

Bit of a dilemma.

We have a temp at work and we all have our own drawers. She is basically covering for someone who is away on sabatical.

The lady who is away came in and handed in her notice yesterday and came in to collect all her stuff. She asked the temp if she could get into the drawer as she had left some money in there (about £50 bagged up in change).

The temp replied that she had run out of money and taken it to the bank, changed it up and spent it. She said she would give it back.... she had not one ounce of embarrassment and was talking loudly and laughing. The lady asked for it and she said not until Friday.

Can you believe she had the audacity to call the shots as to when she would give the money.

The other people in my department are mortified and are saying it is tantamount to theft and want to report it to our manager.

What do you think?

MrsMcJnr · 08/08/2007 13:02

Mixedmama - I think the woman whose money it is should report it. The temp doesn't sound very trustworthy if you ask me.

beller · 08/08/2007 13:21

mixedmama-Cant believe the temp didnt ask anyone or tell anyone what she was doing? Like Mrsmcjnr, i think the lady who left should report it? Would make me vary wary of the temp, dosnt sound very trustworthy!

mixedmama · 08/08/2007 13:25

I am more flumoxed by the fact that when she was telling the other girl she wasnt even slightly embarrassed and even told her she would have to wait until friday for her money.... to top it all off she is now thinking of applying for the now vacant post.

beller · 08/08/2007 13:29

Dilemna of my own re name..

My surname at the moment is my married name, although I am divorced, ex hubbie is happy with this. I grew up with stepfathers name, but natural fathers name is on my birth certificate, but has never been used by me. Dont want to go back to stepfathers name as he is a horrible person and in prison.
(still with me? )
Sooooooooooo do i
a) keep the name I have and give it to babybel
b) Put XP name in as part of middle name
c) double barrel my name with XP (does go)
d) change my name to natural fathers and give that name to babybel

Would appreciate your thoughts girls, and i know only I can make the decision! As if I dont have enough to worry about hahahaha!

mixedmama · 08/08/2007 13:33

mmm... what about mothers maiden name... just to confuse things even more.

MotherofZ · 08/08/2007 13:58

beller - or you could make up your own surname and use that! (Not taking the p!ss or anything but I had a friend as School whose family changed their surname when the babies were born as they didn't like their own)

Bettymamma · 08/08/2007 14:04

Mixedmama - someone needs to report it. You don't want her to get the woman's job if shes that untrustworthy. She sounds VERY dodgy.

Beller - ok, I'll be honest, but its up to you. I personally would keep the one you have from ex-dh (if its a nice name and relations are still ok) just because I am incredibly lazy and very rubbish at even updating the bank when I move address. XP only deserves to be mentioned in Babybel's name if he gets more involved I think. But of course - its up to you
xx

I do actually like my name at mom, which you might have been able to guess is Bell ! Just thinking which is going to be best for babybel, and whether he/she should really have a blood name?

Bettymamma · 08/08/2007 14:09

hmmm actually - do you want to really carry your ex dh's name on? Think I've changed my mind. Go with Bell as in Babybel. Its a nice name unless you like the names Isabelle or Gabrielle.

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 08/08/2007 14:27

Mixedmama ? someone in authority should know about the goings on before thinking about taking her on full time!

Beller ? My personal views a) might be weird, baby might later think ExDH was involved also how would his family feel? b) Could work but would still have ExDH?s surname c) Do you want to have XP?s name though? d) Could work ALSO e) both you and baby take your mother?s maiden name for me what would matter would be that baby and I had same name and that I chose the name I felt the most affiliation with, baby will accept whatever (s)he?s called.

beller · 08/08/2007 14:50

Bell is Xh name, but my name at mom..I do like Isobel, but had already written that out because of surname...!!
Do you think babybel should have a "blood "name in there somewhere at least?

Bettymamma · 08/08/2007 14:51

MrsMcJnr talking sense again!

OP posts:
mixedmama · 08/08/2007 14:53

Mmm... this is getting more and more confusing.

go with what you think is best. I think it would be good to chose a name that you can keep even if you get remarried at any point, so from that perspective perhaps your mothers maiden name as that would mean that DC would have the same surname as you... altho if you then had further children you would prob need to think again.

not sure if i am totally confused now.

beller · 08/08/2007 14:54

With c) i think i would have Bell and babybel would just have double barrelled, would be slightly different....what a mess eh!

beller · 08/08/2007 14:57

Hadnt thought about my mums maiden name really hahaha She died 16 years ago...my natural father is my "dad" now, although i have only known him for about 13 years....Not sure how he would feel if i chose my mums maiden name over his, which is on my birth certificate... think my head is about to explode! hahahaha
Thanks everyone, sometimes its good to hear what people "Outside the box" think x

MrsMcJnr · 08/08/2007 15:02

Beller ? are you calling us nutters? what?s your Dad?s name? just being nosey now think it?s sweet how you call your LO Babybel which of course it currently is as far as your HP are concerned!

More dirty dreams last night ? would make great films!

Bettymamma · 08/08/2007 15:11

Dirty dreams - Ok ladies

Last time I was pg with dd had loads of dirty dreams - not so many this time..

Anyway - last time I did it with John Prescott, Gordon Brown, John Craven and the Pope (unfortunately the one who had just died).
