No worries mixedmamma

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:00

Just had a look at your profile.. very funny that Bob the Builder is on your list of films!! i love Loose Women too. and the Joy of Sex as the book .... that had me in stitches.

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:01

Also, you are in London too.

I have seen some MN meet ups on here, has anybody here ever met up or are we all worried that we are really axe murderers or something.

gingeme · 07/08/2007 16:05

Oh I know that film off by heart ds3 is a mega Bob fan and I actualy catch myself singing it to myself. My dh has ds3 singing it when he was about 2 on his phone and it sounds so cute.
Joy of sex. Yes well erm. Ill let you into a secret when I was about 8 I found the old version in my parents bedroom and was so shocked after I looked at it I cried for about an hour. When my Mum asked me why I was crying I just couldnt bring myself to answer her. Then my dh bought the new version and it sent a chill down my spine. I have since told my Mum the story and she said'oh you silly girl'.

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:07

That is so funny.... about your mum and the book. I used to go and search my parents room, not sure what i was looking for, needless to say i probably would have been mortified if I had actually found anything.

gingeme · 07/08/2007 16:10

Well thats a coinsidence we were just talking about a meet up on my October thread. I have been on a few and they are lovely ladies. It can be a bit awkward at first. Any suggestions of a meeting place then mixedmamma?

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:13

what kind of things or where do they normally go, is it a park thing???

gingeme · 07/08/2007 16:17

Weve met at Coffee shops,Pizza Express,V&A museum cafe,Giraffe resteraunt, erm cant remember where else. Will have to think of baby friendly places now though all our lo's are here.

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:19

mmmm.... will put on my thinking cap.

gingeme · 07/08/2007 16:25

Just a thought my dh came along a couple of times and the other ladies were quite impressed he made the effort

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:26

i think wild horses wouldnt get my DH to come.

gingeme · 07/08/2007 16:27

Ah .......

MrsMcJnr · 07/08/2007 16:27

Beller ? hope the sleep walking doesn?t happen during your pregnancy! Very impressive that you?ve been to the gym by the way ? what did you do there? my Davina DVD is still in the cellophane

Gingeme ? sorry to hear you are felling low hope you get back to your chirpy self soon! I?ve seen liposuction on Nip/Tuck oh and I saw fat from the inside at an autopsy when I was at Uni, it looks like lumpy custard but sure doesn?t smell like it! LOL at the Joy of Sex experience! I used to lock myself in my parents? bathroom when I was little and flick through my Dad?s Playboys! I have a very relaxed attitude to porn now!

Mixedmama ? I have met MNetter in real life and we are friends now I?m in Scotland though

MrsMcJnr · 07/08/2007 16:30

Mixedmama- PMSL at the varying conversations you are having at the moment between this and the December thread!

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 16:32

MrsMcJnr - must just be in one of those moods.

beller · 07/08/2007 16:55

Gingeme and mixedmamma- would be up for a london meet if you arrange one?!

Mrsmcjnr- This time i did 30 minutes on the crosstrainer...but depends, i have had a "preggy" work out sorted for me by the gym..As i was at my fittest when i conceived I would like to try and keep some form of fitness....dont think ill be running the marathon again next year though

pussycatmomma · 07/08/2007 17:12

hello everyone ((waves!!!))) there should be a waving sign shouldnt there? How is everyone? Im so sorry im a rubbish correspondant on this thread, real life has taken over somewhat just lately, and Ive no time for sitting at computer...
havent caught up on the thread, (gosh am so slack!) but did read mrs mcs catch up so i guess im almost there!
Hope you are all keeping well and looking bumptious!!!
I am now 16 weeks, cant believe it, but everything is still ok
We are off to cornwall for a couple of weeks at the end of august, then we have our 20wk scan straight after - wow, that means half way!!!!!!!! (((puss cat does very excited jig))
I have decided not to have the triple serum test (or whatever its called) the ones where they check for downs and spinabifida....We just figure this baby is so incredible just getting here it really doesnt matter to us. Thats just my humble opinion of course, each to there own
Have seen the midwife a couple of times now, she is great, i love listening to the heartbeat on the doppler thing, fall in love a bit deeper every time i hear it.
Bought some fab maternity stuff and am starting to actually feel "pregnant" at last!!!
Loads of love and hugs to everyone,
Cant wait till my maternity leave when i can chat on this thread for hours!!! (ooh and it will be winter too, that means chocolate biscuits and yummy treats too!)
love pusscat xxxx

PinkElephant · 07/08/2007 17:54

LousieSJ - thank you hun. It's all a bit up and down for me at the moment. Everytime I feel sad I only have to think of bump and it makes me smile

MotherofZ - I know what you mean, I am on the phone to them most days, but its still hard as I njust want to pop round when I can but I can't

Mixedmama - how awful for you, what happened - did he recover? I try to include them by sending scan photo's which they love but as dad's condition is terminal he is so limited in walking anywhere and everything is such hard work for him so I try to do the 200mile jpourney as often as possible.

Beller- you've given me hope with the headaches. They are belters and start from the moment I stand up in a moring to the moment my head hits the pillow at night. The midwife reckoned they should go by 20wks also.....only 3wks to go!!!

MrsMcJr - hello honey I'm so glad to hear everything is going well for you too. I too will have to cave in a buy news bra's as they are all getting a bit small!!! I haven't got the veins in arms yet but definately have bright blue veiny boobs....lovely!! I'm desperate to feel baby move but really not sure I'm feeling anything just yet, keep get the odd strange senastions but no butterfly kisses yet

Housemum · 07/08/2007 19:10

Hi all - just posting so I don't lose the thread again! Have had builders in bathroom all week - even DD2 is getting fed up. I popped on to the computer at lunchtime while she was watching CBeebies - one of the guys was outside the front door sawing some skirting - then I saw DD2 go to the door, hand on hip, and exclaim "I'm trying to watch telly and I can't hear it!" Grumpy mare - wonder who she takes after

Cazzybaby · 07/08/2007 19:59

Angelcake - I was told that some hospitals have state of the art scanning machines that can be used if DS test comes back high, instead of having an Amnio, not sure if anyone else has been told about this??

mixedmama · 08/08/2007 09:43

Hi Everyone,

Pinkelephant - yeah he is fine now, he cant work or drive and his reactions are a little slower and he has trouble remembering things (just words and stuff), but for the most part completely recovered, but it was so hard to watch at the time. So sorry your fathers condition is terminal, I dont suppose it is really possible for you to go and spend an extended amount of time up there is it... I suppose not with appointments and day to day life to get on with. Am here if you need a shoulder at all.

Hope everyone is having a good morning I am an hour early for work....so just faffing.

Angechica · 08/08/2007 11:17

Hi all
I am nearly 18 wks now but can't work out if I can feal any movements yet.
Basically (too much info) my digestive system is really poor and I have a lot of wind & tummy rumbles anyway . Been worse when PG as I have been eating more dairy food than I would do normally because scared of depriving bairn of nutrients etc...
However sometimes I get this real "sense of energy" coming from the bump - does anyone else get this or is it just a figment of my imagination? Or as per Dr Miriam can I sense the baby's metabolism still going strong when mine wants to shut down...

mixedmama · 08/08/2007 11:29

"sense of energy" yep can second that get that alot more than actual movements... feel more likely baby is floating around than kicking.

Bettymamma · 08/08/2007 11:45

I'm away for 1 afternoon and have 10 years to catch up on.

How are you all? Any weird cravings? I can't get ENOUGH of bacon frazzles.

Where did i leave off....

Pinkelephant - i hope things improve for your dad. Thoughts are with you. I hope you are getting lots of support from your family as well.

mixedmama - no cosmetic surgery yet for me - though the boobs are heading south quite drastically. Who knows? - maybe one day.

gingeme - I wondered where all the mums and kids come from at the V&A cafe! Its absolutely packed every day. Nice place though. I kind of work virtually opposite it. Meet ups must be weird. I'd need name badges with all your made up names on them.

pussycatmomma - hello again. yes vdifficult to keep up-to-date with this lot. Roll on the winter days at home.

housemum - we've had a builder in our kitchen for 3 weeks so far. My dd calls him 'man' and asks where 'man' is when he's not there. Shes grown quite attached to him.

Angechica - floating around like mixedmama said is a good description. I can tell mine's feet down from the light flutterings above my bladder.
