Pink elephant you sound in a bad way - wd it help to tell us specifics? Am sure beannie won't suffer, but you sound stressed s/he won't know grandad? We are here for you.
Bravo Scorpio - sounds as tho' that was a long time coming.

MrsMcJnr · 06/08/2007 16:23

Oh Pinky I am so sorry, I crossed with you before. It must be an awful time for you. You must keep eating and think of your baby and (s)he?ll be fine. Our thoughts are with you hon x

Bettymama I?m not normally like that, honestly!!

Scorpio ? yipeeeeeeee!

MrsMcJnr · 06/08/2007 16:38

Ok - quick poll - anyone @ 17 weeks and NOT got:

*leaky boobs
*definite baby movements
*black line on tummy
*put on weight yet

help me feel less inadequate!

mixedmama · 06/08/2007 16:44

No black line on Tummy

Had a tiny bit of leakage in the bath (tiny though)

had two definite movements

everyone says i have lost weight (except in belly) but i put it down to being greedy and then morning sickness which by the way is still here at 19 weeks

barristermum · 06/08/2007 16:45

No to ALL of those Mrs McJnr - but sadly still yes to nausea!

Bettymamma · 06/08/2007 16:52

not put on weight! not put on weight! I'll go and hide my big bum in the corner

I have the line as well...and am getting internally beaten up now and then. But I'm a bit further ahead and its my 2nd.

Scampynoodle · 06/08/2007 17:12

Tell me now, does having the line depend on how much pork you are carrying? I had a pot before I got pregnant so have wondered about this often. I sometimes think there is something there but it's just that the bloody zip on my trousers has left its mark! Classy.

I think I've felt something too. I'm 16 weeks and my midwife reckons I won't get anyting until 18 weeks but these feelings aren't anything like anything I've had before. It's like a grumbling tum but really low down and I only notice when I'm laying still at night. In fact I barely register them at first. I wonder...

It's good to hear that weight is a variable thing too. I've put on 8 lbs which is less than you should pile on according to all manner of things I've read. But seeing as I was a little meaty to start with I guess I don't need to pork up as much as some women. Coo, it would be good if I don't put on too much. Being a short arse, if I pile it on I'll look like a weather balloon! Saying that I've scoffed my way through a box of Jaffa Cakes this afternoon.

Naughty Scampy!

Sx

Cazzybaby · 06/08/2007 17:39

I'm a no to all of those things!

Do they all happen gradually or over a few weeks??

barristermum · 06/08/2007 17:43

poor bettymamma - your outrage really made me chuckle. If it's any consolation I, like Scampy, was pretty hefty to begin with and with the no drinking of alcohol and the nausea in fact lost 7lbs in the first 12 weeks! There is MORE than enough of me to feed off for poor beannie tho'!

fruitful · 06/08/2007 17:44

I've never had leaky boobs or a line at any point in either pg.

I've been feeling this baby move for about a week (am 15 weeks).

And I'm not using my scales.

I've just got back from 10 days in France. Started bleeding (spotting) on the first day away - typical. But also started feeling the baby so I knew it was alive! I saw the midwife today and heard the heartbeat. She says it is "just one of those things". [sigh].

fruitful · 06/08/2007 17:45

MrsMcJ - with first pg I was 22 weeks before I felt anything, and about then before I looked remotely pg too.

LouiseSJ · 06/08/2007 18:57

I am almost 19 weeks and still haven't felt the baby move, but last night I couldn't get to sleep and felt something low down in my belly. Like the feeling described by Scampynoodle. Is that the baby moving?

I haven't got leaky boobs or a brown line. I have gained 12 pounds in weight so far.

MrsMcJnr - why should we not be sleeping on or backs? What about sleeping on our bellies?

spud01 · 06/08/2007 19:20

hi everyone

Thx for opinions on surname

Beller - Sorry to confuse it is complicated
Two step kids (christopher and kerianne) have there Dads surname
My Daughter (Laura) has her Dads surname on birth certificate, but when we divorced I went back to maiden name which my daughter followed suit and to be known by my surname.
Ds (kieran) has my maiden name on birth certificate even though dp is named on birth certificate.
But step daughter wants this baby with there surname
which would mean i would have three kids with three different surnames, even though there is only two dads

MrsMc - im 15 weeks and no movements felt, only two pound gained otherwise nothing.

scorpio1 · 06/08/2007 19:42

and, yes, the handbag is still mine!

angelcake99 · 06/08/2007 20:08

Hi Everyone! I can add that i have not had leaky boobs, not had line down tummy, no movements either. Well though i felt something but Midwife said it was far to high up to be the baby!

Got my Downs screening resluts and i have to go and see consultant tomorrow as they were high, 1in 110, so bit up and down mood wise to say the least. Going to cheer myself up with something chocolatey i think

Glad everyone is doing fine xx

angelcake99 · 06/08/2007 20:10

Oh fogot to add no weight gained here although I am pretty hefty to start with

Scampynoodle · 06/08/2007 22:13

Angelcake, hope things go Ok with the consultant. Let us know how you get on will you? I'm having my first test for ds on Weds so suspect that I have all this to come. I'll be thinking of you!

Good evening all.
How on earth can you be jelous of washing? I hate it especialy as Ive had so much with two extra people here. They go home on Wednesday so it should calm down a bit roung here.
Shopping with little ones hhmmm no secret realy. Luckily my tow actualy enjoy shopping. Especialy as lo can sit in a proper trolley seat now because he can reach to chew the bar.
Theyre are some brilliant names here. What a choice!
anglecake99 I know exactly how you feel. My downs results were very similur with ds4 and I was crying all the time. Had a long chat with the head mw lady and she assured me that all was ok. Thankfuly it was
I have an appt with my gp tommorrow. I am a veiny person anyway as Im light skinned but the veins behind my right knee are very prominent and quite lumpy and sore. This always happens when I am pegnant but not usualy right until the end. Plus I have a few very red ones which I remember my mw telling me this could be dangerous. Bet Ill have to wear some gorgeous surgical stockings

beller · 07/08/2007 08:01

mixedmama · 07/08/2007 09:54

Morning ladies,

Scampy - i dont get the pork reference is it in relation putting on weight??? Sorry pregnant brain on.

Cazzy - i think these things just materialise over time.

I seem to be maintaining my weight, but mainly because at 19 weeks am still being sick most days.

Angelcake - 1 in 110 sounds not too high but I know when you are within a cut off period it iss very scary. I still havent had my results. Good luck and i hope it is good news.

Gingme - veins dont sound very nice, do they give you pain or discomfort.

beller · 07/08/2007 10:17

Have a good holiday Spud! x
