I just updated the spreadsheet. God I hope I did it right?! Think I’m now on there?

I went to John Lewis last night. My sis swears by her UPPAbaby pram. Pushed it and I loved it. She’s had her for 5 years using it for 2kids. It’s the lightest pram out of all the ones I’ve pushed. My parents said they’d buy it as bought siblings which is a great help.

Getting excited now and just want to get nursery sorted to put away everything nicely!!!

I haven’t felt any movement that I know of. Have a flutter but not putting it down to baby!

Moraxella · 27/03/2019 07:57

@KLane thanks that’s reassuring. Pretty stressed! I have no connections there so need to investigate and find a team.

KLane · 27/03/2019 08:05

@Moraxella I'm always jealous of the level of antenatal care that my US based friends get. You'll be in good hands! And you should be able to select midwife led care if you prefer.

boodles101 · 27/03/2019 08:07

I'm pretty sure I had some Braxton hicks last night. I did get them quite early with DS around 20 something weeks and Google says 2nd pregnancy can have them earlier. Just feels too early to be getting things like that! I have appt with midwife today so I'll be asking her about it. Really hoping she attempts to listen to the heartbeats today!

Bunnymummy89 · 27/03/2019 08:07

@TwittleBee I have the pains too. Not really felt much until this last week (15+3 now) but lots of discomfort over the last few days. Also get the sharp stabbing pains especially when I cough or something and I do think that's related to being sick because it's improved over the last couple of weeks now I'm not being sick every 5 minutes! But our abs have had a workout from all the wretching I guess! Haven't had any cramping so I'm not too worried :)

Bunnymummy89 · 27/03/2019 08:10

Is it normal practice for midwife to listen to heartbeat? At first scan I saw it but didn't hear it. Have my 16 week appointment tomorrow so hoping I get a listen!

Cheekychimp1 · 27/03/2019 08:16

I didn’t hear the heartbeat at my 16 week MW check. It was all a bit pointless really. She just went through my results and that was that! Hmm

boodles101 · 27/03/2019 08:17

bunnymummy some trusts don't listen to heartbeat until after 20 weeks but alot still do it from 16 weeks. I did hear it at my son's 16 week appt so I'm hoping they will still do it today, just unsure if having twins makes a difference! You can always just ask tomorrow and see what they say l.

Hannahb123 · 27/03/2019 08:41

@Bunnymummy89 with my first I didn't get to hear her heartbeat at my 12 week scan but with this one I got it I think it depends on who you get I just happened to have a midwife and sonogragher if that's even the right word lol.
I did get to hear her heartbeat at 16 though so hoping for the same again with this little bean xxx

TwittleBee · 27/03/2019 09:22

Certainly had them already boodles101 but then I remember getting them this early with DS too. I find if I do too much or have sex then they get set off!

Yeah they have had a proper work out along with so the growing I guess Bunnymummy89 !

Lavellan · 27/03/2019 09:59

I got the dreamgenii pillow and without it now I wake up with an awful sore stomach. Took a little getting used to but I thought it might be better to do it earlier rather than once I'm struggling to sleep.

Stroan · 27/03/2019 10:14

Our NHS board doesn't do the heartbeat at 16 weeks but I had to go to maternity triage straight after my 16 week appointment so hear it there. But it was difficult so I can understand why some don't.

I ordered a support pillow yesterday as I was having a lot of pelvic pain at night and struggling to roll over. Of course, last night was absolutely fine and I practically sprang out of bed this morning...

Appt done, she did listen in to heartbeats. Twin 1 took a few mins as wouldn't keep still but twin 2 was found straight away. It's really reassuring to hear it between scans but I get why some places don't do it til later. My midwife's face was pretty much Shock the entire time.

Karigan195 · 27/03/2019 10:40

So partner walks in yesterday and goes ‘you’re getting massive’. Kill him or not kill him? 🤔😉

Stroan · 27/03/2019 10:50

@karigan195 kill him. Make it painful.

Mine knows better than to comment unless asked! I used to get really upset last time when people would stop me and ask if I was having twins. I stopped going out in the last few weeks of pregnancy because I was sick of being told how huge I was.

AnnieAR · 27/03/2019 11:08

Hi, new to the site but I'm due 2nd September! 17+2 weeks along with my first :)

Cheekychimp1 · 27/03/2019 11:52

Hi Annie! Welcome.
That’s my due date too! Hope all going ok. X

Hannahb123 · 27/03/2019 11:52

@Stroan I felt the same with my first people used to always say wow!!! You sure your not having twins like seriously how can people be so mean lol specially to pregnant woman if makes you more emotional 😂😂 xx

Cheekychimp1 · 27/03/2019 11:55

I’ve just order 80quids worth of maternity clothes from Asda. Got my Dorothy Perkins order delivered today too. Hope there’s something decent to wear amongst it all.

I ordered a pregnancy pillow from smyths for 20quid. Having decent sleep at last as hips really hurt before I was preggers.

Congrats on hearing the heartbeats today. Funny how some do it and others not!

DancingUnicorn1 · 27/03/2019 12:39

I think I may need to go maternity shopping this weekend. Everything is feeling tight and uncomfortable.

I feel like I'm wishing my pregnancy away but my tummy area feels huge and I just can't wait until other people can see it too! Though I'm sure I'll regret it once I've got a huge bump to carry around!

Megan2018 · 27/03/2019 13:19

@DancingUnicorn1
Yes I want to look more pregnant too, but bet I’ll regret it!

Be warned that there is very little maternity wear to be found in store. I’ve had to do all mine online.

TwittleBee · 27/03/2019 13:30

My latest eBay maternity bundle arrived in post today! Pretty pleased, 2 dresses, 5 tops, 1 jumper and 1 pair of leggings all for £30 and all like new too.

Fortheloveofscience · 27/03/2019 13:37

I’m jealous of your success, TwittleBee. I’ve only won one auction so far, that was a week ago the seller dicked about with postage and now still hasn’t posted it. Don’t want to re-buy on the off chance that it does turn up because I don’t have space for a load more clothes if I buy twice. Super-frustrating!

TwittleBee · 27/03/2019 13:38

That's awful Fortheloveofscience have they given any reason for being so slow?

Megan2018 · 27/03/2019 13:45

Well done @TwittleBee. I've had good ebay success too.

So far my ebay haul is:
3 pairs jeans, 1 pr black jeggings, 2 smart tops. All for £34.23 inc postage (not a bundle - separate items).

I've also had a few things from NEXT sale and Dorothy Perkins (although that is now all going back as I have fallen out with them over the refund) and have an order from New Look to pick up .

I just need some underwear now and some pyjamas but not needed immediately so no rush. Might need some things for the hot weather if we have a good summer but going to wait and see what it's like first!
