@kyles101
I've already had a response from the Exec Assistant to the Chief Exec, promising to investigate asap and respond to me by tomorrow afternoon.
I do a very good angry at the best of times, but pregnant I am vicious.

My parting shot was to hope that they would be the next retailer to fall "victim to the High Street as they don't deserve to stay in business with such an incompetent online model". They didn't seem to like that, it's a bit close to the truth for Arcadia....

TheCraicDealer · 26/03/2019 18:06

Well kyles101, according to the weirdly specific meteorology blog of a bearded Englishman I found at 23:00 last night, June is supposed to be be bang average but July and August pretty good. No sign of any heatwaves though! Perhaps for the best!

One of the six tops I'd ordered from GAP arrived and it's lovely and thick but also very soft with a lot of stretch in it. I'll be interested to see what the rest of the stuff is like.

kyles101 · 26/03/2019 18:09

I feel I need to find this bearded English man. Oh, and you've reminded me about gap...

kyles101 · 26/03/2019 18:18

😂 Megan that's hilarious, I also love a complaint, dh finds it excruciating and hides where possible if it's a face to face. I don't get angry with it though, just mildly amused - although early pregnancy definitely brought out some hormonal rage 😳

Also, my job title is definitely not fancy enough, I'm going to try to work exec in there somehow.

Got to look at new cars tomorrow, and have to consider baby paraphernalia for the first time... considering taking the pram with me but is that just crazy? Maybe I'll take measurements...?

Stroan · 26/03/2019 18:26

Please, no heatwaves! I'm already roasting all the time.

Megan, I'm currently locked in an email battle with our builder over our garden. We're up to 21 emails now and I sense they are getting irritated. But they have underestimated my pregnant fury and ability to keep an argument going! They've basically offered me £250 to stop emailing 😂

@kyles101 I would take the pram! Although I can tell you that our Cam fitted easily in a ford focus and Nissan qashqai! It's a bit of a pain with the carrycot, it slots together more neatly as a pushchair. But do-able.

Hsunshine · 26/03/2019 18:48

@kyles101 I brought a big suv big boot thinking a pram will go in easily. Boy was I wrong. The poor girl at mothercare spent an hour with me testing out many prams in the boot of my car I literally brought for baby

TwittleBee · 26/03/2019 18:49

Take the pram kyles101 and think about what else you might want to fit in that boot alongside the pram! I recently went car shopping and we dragged the pram out with us, so relieved as it meant we decided to get a C-Max as we really need the boot space with 2 kids

KnobJockey · 26/03/2019 19:37

Kyles, yes that's the type of support belt. The band's detach/ fasten on with Velcro so that you can use it as you grow. The bottom part looks like a giant old fashioned sanitary towel. Attractive but it helps.

kyles101 · 26/03/2019 20:44

Stroan I have a qashqai at the minute actually so that's interesting... it does take up far more room by the looks of it with the carry cot, and there's no way I'm faffing about taking wheels off so it had better fit without dismantling... I think an Audi q2 is the main contender at the minute, I really like the civics but think my boss is a badge snob so won't buy a Honda 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/03/2019 20:45

Oh i like a complaint too!

I also like to shame people who dont pick up dog poo in the street Grin

Heard babies heartbeat at 16 week appointment today and also swear i saw the bump MOVE in the bath Shock

16+5

kyles101 · 26/03/2019 20:48

@TwittleBee yep think I'm deffo going to take it, it will be a decider.

Also, car seats, now we actually have an isize thingy as theory in John Lewis said these were better as they face rearward for longer, long story short got 75% off one when kiddicare store shut down, bargain, but same JL lady said isofix bases don't fit all cars... different cars and different seat manufacturers all have different sizes - is this correct? I thought the whole idea of the isofix base was to standardise things? 🤷‍♀️

kyles101 · 26/03/2019 20:53

Ivegot that's so exciting!! I really hope my midwife does it - mines on Thursday. Has yours mentioned anything about classes or anything yet? My nearest NCT class is ~45 miles away - no way I'm going that far so it'll be a quick NHS refresher for me!

And movement too!! I'm really hoping I get more reassured when I start to feel movement on a consistent basis - I've just had 2 or 3 times when I've been pretty sure so far at 16 + 3

Bunnymummy89 · 26/03/2019 21:18

Hi all, first timer here, due September 15th :)

Astret · 26/03/2019 22:07

Hi @Bunnymummy89 - we have the same due date! Welcome to the thread.

@Megan2018 I hope you get some grovelling and compensation from them! How awful is that for customer service?

@TheCraicDealer I have been on a bit of a buying spree too after hearing about the sales. Even in the sale Seraphine isn't cheap though :S Jeans and sports leggings now on order as everything is getting a bit tight. Luckily a friend has posted me a care package of her old maternity wear as her youngest is now 2, and I was so glad - a big load of comfy t-shirts and a maternity swimsuit which will now get some more use.

My next challenge - I haven't got a lot of 'showing' going on, but we application went down well and I now have a job interview in 2 weeks. Everyone please cross your fingers for good weather so I can wear a nice empire-line dress and keep bump under wraps until after the formalities!

PS - can the folks feeling toasty please send their mojo this way too? I'm still frozen in wool socks and two sweaters... hope folks' nausea dies down though!

Stroan · 26/03/2019 22:26

@kyles101 I think they do fit most cars that have isofix connections, but there are certain cars that they can't go in. For example if the car has a storage space under the floor. Something to do with the leg maybe? But I think it's rare.

Whenever we've bought a car seat (and we are on number 5!) they've always looked up a manufacturer list and checked first. It's always been fine.

Hi all!
First time mum due 29th September here!

Heading to bed now (I'm still perpetually tired) but I'll have a quick read through the thread tomorrow to get caught up.

Moraxella · 26/03/2019 22:46

@KLane yep will be insured, just worried I’ll rock up at hospital to give birth (admittedly antenatal notes in hand) but I’m desperate for labour ward and epidural or c/s and will be unknown to them as antenatal care will be all America based. Def don’t want it in the US.

KJR123 · 26/03/2019 23:04

Hi all,
First time mum
Due September 27th.
Hope everyone's well

Kelly x

TwittleBee · 27/03/2019 06:02

My belly is in agony this morning. Do not remember it feeling this sore before! I think it's from being sick as just threw up and I felt like I needed to scream in pain.

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/03/2019 06:19

I am been feeling tender in the stomach area twittle i thought maybe more growing and stretching going on but your sounds painful Sad

KLane · 27/03/2019 06:22

@Moraxella Are you already registered with a midwife team here? If they know you're coming back for the birth, and you have all the notes from your antenatal appointments in the US, you should be fine! The antenatal care in the US is much more thorough, so there shouldn't be any gaps for them to be concerned about.

Hannahb123 · 27/03/2019 06:32

Hello I am 14 weeks pregnant now with my second baby I had previously joined another September thread but wasn't getting much replies so I saw someone mention this one so thought I would give it ago! How is everyone and how far gone is everyone 😊
I'm due September 25th
Xx

Karigan195 · 27/03/2019 07:03

Welcome all new ladies. If you go back there is a spreadsheet with due dates etc on which is a great help. :)

Twittlebee I get those nasty sharp pains at least every other day. I don’t remember that either. Definitely now remember why I left it ten years before trying again 😂😂

TwittleBee · 27/03/2019 07:10

IVEgottheDECAF and Karigan195 glad I'm not the only one suffering in the tummy area. It's not sharp shooting pains, although have been having those classic ligament pains as well, it's a constant pain that feels like I've completely ruined my abs. Can't even lift my toddler this morning as feels like I'll rip in half.

Lots of newbies on here lately! Welcome all!

Hannahb123 · 27/03/2019 07:47

@Karigan195 ahh brilliant how do I find the spread sheet? Xxxx
