Idk, does depend on which control pad I guess! 17 weeks is about the size of a naval orange on my app so sounds about right?

Karigan195 · 28/03/2019 07:40

Mine says at 18 weeks baby’s the size of a naval orange, an Atlantic puffin or an ice cream cone.... three things I don’t think are the same size so 🤷‍♀️

TwittleBee · 28/03/2019 07:49

18 weeks is a pomegranate on mine haha! Tbh weeks 16 to 19 all seem to be similar sized things! Avocado, orange, pomegranate and grapefruit

Megan2018 · 28/03/2019 09:05

16 weeks today and apparently a Dill pickle or an Avocado depending on which app.
11.6cm long - still tiny!

I need to put down the credit card and stop buying clothes - I think I have excessive quantities now. But still no bra. Sigh.

Karigan195 · 28/03/2019 09:15

Bras are really stressing me out! Need to get properly fitted but don’t see the point when they are changing so much right now. Resorted to some sports bras in a larger size which are very forgiving :)

boodles101 · 28/03/2019 09:18

megan I'm the same. I had a sudden panic that I've got a hen do next week and nothing nice to wear. Now I have several nice things to wear and no money left! Step away from the online shopping!!
11.6cm long?!! And I've got double that. Wowser no wonder I feel like I've suddenly got massive this week!!!

Bunnymummy89 · 28/03/2019 09:22

Is anybody else still really struggling with sickness? Everyone is talking about maternity clothes etc and I've been wearing my pyjamas for the last 8 weeks. I've had two months off work now and been on antisickness meds that whole time. Things were a lot worse without them but I am still sick at least 5 times every morning, feel sick 24hrs a day and am now getting daily migraines just to add insult to injury. Literally struggle to stand up long enough to shower some days. Absolutely exhausted and miserable from the ongoing dehydration and lingering effects of migraines. Starting to feel so isolated and miserable now since the magic 12 week point is long gone and I'm fast approaching the 16 week milestone (Sunday) and doesn't feel like it's getting any better. Keep getting two or three days when feels like it's subsiding only to come back with a vengeance the next day, which in some ways is even worse than it just not going away! Please tell me I'm not the only unlucky one and I'll start being able to enjoy this soon!

KLane · 28/03/2019 09:29

Does anyone have the Jojomaman belly band? I bought one on eBay but cannot for the life of me figure out how it securely attaches.

Karigan195 · 28/03/2019 09:31

@Bunnymummy89. Yes at 18 bloody weeks and not happy about it. Not to the extent of needing medication but it’s a struggle to take the pregnacare, if I see dirty dishes and if I get hungry.

Dipsy77 · 28/03/2019 10:27

@bunnymummy89 I'm 16 weeks on Monday and I still have sickness and started getting migraines 2 weeks ago I had to go to hospital for tests they thought I had tears in my retina because of the lights in my eyes but confirmed it's down to migraines which are making me feel really ill dizzy and sick and living in my dressing gown most days xx

Bunnymummy89 · 28/03/2019 10:32

@Dipsy77 sorry you're suffering too. Do you suffer from migraines when not pregnant? I heard if you do they are actually supposed to improve during pregnancy but no such luck here. Mine came on about two weeks ago too. Here's hoping it finally all starts to fade soon...

Dipsy77 · 28/03/2019 11:15

#bunnymummy89 no I don't normally get them either as soon as I wake up every morning I get flashing lights and then the headache comes on and is on and off all day with dizziness and sickness and I feel drained and tired most of the day just hoping they lift soon Sad

DustyDoorframes · 28/03/2019 11:20

@KLane the belly band works better with some things than others. It needs to be snug enough to hold up your trousers by itself, and then you button your trousers through it. Mine worked best for that in my first pregnancy, it stretched a bit later in so is now not as snug as it was at this stage... when I get home this evening I'll take a pic!

DustyDoorframes · 28/03/2019 11:23

Actually, the instructions on the jojo site are good, in case you haven't seen them! Last image scrolling along - www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/multi-use-belly-band-a9117.html

Megan2018 · 28/03/2019 12:26

Interesting about the migraines. I am usually a sufferer but have been really good so far. I was a bit panicked because I usually take very strong painkillers and obvs those are out of bounds so I was convinced I'd be bed bound and miserable, but so far pregnancy is certainly improving some things in me!

Sorry you are suffering though @Dipsy77 @Bunnymummy89
it is a miserable thing to have.

Stroan · 28/03/2019 12:33

@bunnymummy89 still very nauseous all day and occasionally sick at 17 weeks. Have been on anti sickness meds and thought I was starting to get better but yesterday and today have been awful.

What anti-sickness meds are you on? I had awful migraines, wooziness and dizzy spells on Cyclizine. Still get them a little now, but it was constant when I was taking Cyclizine.

OP posts:
Bunnymummy89 · 28/03/2019 12:44

@Stroan I keep having a few days where I feel better only for it to come back full force, feel for you, it's really tough mentally when that happens. If I don't take the tablets I go straight back to all day vomiting. I have tried them all! Had awful reactions to prochlorperazine and ondansetron, migraines dizziness etc. Cyclizine seems to be the only one I can use with little side effects, and it only reduces the vomiting, nothing has stopped it. I found the drowsiness wore off after a couple of weeks. I've taken it since 8 weeks and only last two the migraines have taken root.

Stroan · 28/03/2019 12:48

@bunnymummy89 I honestly thought I was losing my mind on Cyclizine, felt SO terrible. I'm on a combination of ondansetron and stemetil now. I'm lucky that I've had more nausea than vomiting, but still really dehydrated which doesn't help.

OP posts:
Bunnymummy89 · 28/03/2019 12:52

@Stroan funny how everyone reacts so differently, that's exactly how I felt on the prochlorperazine (I think that's stemetil), just adds to the difficulty in getting it under control. Have things at least improved for you over the weeks even if you're still getting the nausea?

KLane · 28/03/2019 13:01

Ah thank you @DustyDoorframes ! I'm not going to fess up to how long I looked for those instructions... I didn't think to scroll through the images 🤦‍♀️ It's the extra opening that was throwing me!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 28/03/2019 14:55

Gosh we’ve almost filled this thread! Chatty bunch we are!

I missed last nights bra chat, but last time I had two extremely comfortable maternity bras from Seraphine. Alas I threw them out in a fit of pique about 6 months into breastfeeding as I couldn’t bear the sight of them anymore. Really wish I hadn’t 🤦🏻‍♀️ Need to go hunting again. Are everyone’s nipples still super sensitive? Even a T-shirt aggravates them!

Yes babies still super small but remember the measurement at the mo is crown to rump, so you can add on a few more centimetres for spindly little legs!

Sorry to hear some of you ladies are still feeling so sick and migraine-y. Hope it passes soon x

DustyDoorframes · 28/03/2019 14:57

Oooh so we are- let's put the google doc in the first post on the new thread- I keep losing it...
Will look at Seraphine bras, hoping they are in the sale...

Megan2018 · 28/03/2019 15:10

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri
My nipples itch like mad in the evening, literally driving me crackers.
Seems to happen if they get too hot. I was sat there with ice packs on them the other night. Oh the glamour! Grin

boodles101 · 28/03/2019 15:16

No itchy nips but I do seem to have an increased sense of smell over the last 2/3 days. Strange cos I thought that was meant to be an early symptom (which I've never had before!) But I can defo smell things a lot more recently!!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 28/03/2019 15:19

@Megan2018 😂 and yes to the itching as well, driving me bonkers

Just looked at Seraphine’s bras and they still stock one I had last time www.seraphine.com/en-gb/pink-mocha-seraphine-nursing-bra.html — I remember it being comfy. Not underwired and adjustable straps. Will try M&S too.
