@Chocoholic01 where are you based? (Asking as reformed expat). Welcome!

Still haven't joined Facebook group as haven't used Facebook for years, will definitely get round to digging out log in soon.

Chocoholic01 · 14/03/2019 16:01

@QueenofFox I'm in Vietnam and feeling a bit daunted at the idea of doing it all so far from home in such a different system! One plus side is getting a scan every 4 weeks so lots of chance to see it wriggling around... did you have a baby abroad?

And is anyone else's bump growing at a rate of knots this week? I'm 16+5 and seem to have popped in last few days - getting really hard to hide!

bubblegumunicorn · 14/03/2019 16:15

@Chocoholic01 Omg yes! I am 19+1 and I just went out for a walk and my coat felt tight! I wasn't planning on getting a maternity one I'm hopeing it will hold out for a few more weeks this baby is growing so fast! :)

Jelliestogether · 14/03/2019 16:24

@chocoholic01 yes definitely noticed a big change since 16 weeks, now nearly 18 weeks and some coats suddenly don't do up etc. Already in maternity bras and bottoms. Tops are still manageable with stretchy tops and big jumpers. Wow that'll be nice for you to get a scan every 4 weeks!! Although it'll be hard for you to be so far from home!

curlywurlywooo · 14/03/2019 16:28

@Chocoholic01 I’m 20+2 and I still haven’t got much of a bump! I’ve had to borrow my mums old coat as I don’t see the point buying a maternity one either @bubblegumunicorn and I’m in maternity jeans as the baby definitely has taken up room but the bump is still not in people’s faces 😂 apart from 5 minutes yesterday when I was in quite some discomfort and looked side on in the mirror and my bump was huge!!! Baby was obviously having a stretch but it went down immediately! Just looks like I’ve had a big meal the rest of the time Smile I am looking forward to having a proper bump and it being obvious I am pregnant!

UnicornDust17 · 14/03/2019 16:58

My coats gave up a few weeks ago, so I ordered a normal one in a size up from sports direct SW Grin

It was super cheap and should last until it starts warming up 🤞🤞

Whoopsies · 14/03/2019 17:12

Anomaly scan all good, and we are having another boy! So excited!! 💙💙💙

MrsRyan15 · 14/03/2019 17:21

Congratulations @Whoopsies I had my anomaly scan today as well. I'm having a girl!! 💗

@Chocoholic01 my bump has really popped out in the last two weeks. I'm exactly 20 weeks today and people keep commenting how big my bump is.

keebo · 14/03/2019 18:26

I'm 18wks today but still wearing all my normal clothes except bras, though I'm wearing looser tops and jumpers because I'm still not comfortable with everyone at work knowing. Bump is definitely visible to me though but I'm quite small generally.
I've had a terrible day at work today and I'm just wondering what everyone does to chill out? My usuals would be wine, hot bath or a massage, all of which aren't possible (no bath due to building work at the moment). What else could I try that takes no brain power??

curlywurlywooo · 14/03/2019 19:08

@keebo Migt sound dull but I love going to bed early to chill out. Cup of tea, hot water bottle on my feet and snuggling up with a good book or catching up with box sets on the iPad. Occasionally I’ll get DH to give me a neck or foot rub too!

Snowflake9 · 14/03/2019 21:20

Hey all.

@keebo I feel the same as you! I miss my wine especially after a hard day at work. I tend to relax now by laying on the bed for 30 mins or so and listening to relaxation music.

It's soooo soothing. Get yourself a snuggly duvet and just feel yourself melt into it.

Husband was like "why have we got bing bing music on? Am.i getting a back rub?"

No darling.. hahaha.

My bump is neat and small but deffo popped out . Now up a size in trousers and leggings and boobs have gone up 2 cup sizes already. Only 16+4!!

Cobblestones · 15/03/2019 12:05

Hi all. Had our scan today. We are having a girl 💕 first baby so dh and I are really excited!

Like a few others here I was also told that baby/placenta is low. But that it moves up in 99% of cases so nothing to worry about for now. Will have another scan at 34 or 36 weeks to check for movements upwards. 🤞🤞

QueenofFox · 15/03/2019 12:09

@Chocoholic01 Vietnam - lush! We were Hong Kong based but had both children in UK because of nationality issues, still really miss Asia! We've talked of going to Singapore in the next few years. It is hard navigating a different health system, hopefully you've got some other expat mums to help.

I've been going to bed so early and really rediscovered my love of reading which I've really enjoyed!

MrsRyan15 · 15/03/2019 12:42

Congrats @Cobblestones welcome to team 💗.

Cobblestones · 15/03/2019 13:21

Thanks @mrsryan15 😊

We are only a day apart and both having girls. What baby number is this for you?

MrsRyan15 · 15/03/2019 13:38

@Cobblestones ahhh we're almost mummy to be twins!! This is number 1 for me as well!!

curlywurlywooo · 15/03/2019 15:21

@Snowflake9 that’s hilarious 😂😂 trust the bloke to think it’s for him 😂
@Cobblestones congrats on the scan and lovely news!

Forget what I said the other day - I’m at work and very aware that I now have a definite bump 😂

Jokie · 15/03/2019 19:47

Hey all, hope you've all had a good day and week :) I'm looking forward to my 20week scan next week and colleagues have just started to notice. Apparently, several colleagues didn't even realise I was pregnant!

PinkLady89x · 15/03/2019 20:26

Found out yesterday we are having a girl 💕💕 so excited!! 😊

curlywurlywooo · 15/03/2019 20:33

@Jokie I’m still wearing floaty/baggy stuff at work currently, think it will just come as a surprise to them when one day I walk in wearing a top that clearly shows I’m pregnant!

@PinkLady89x congrats lovely!

Blueberry2018 · 16/03/2019 06:51

Yay @PinkLady89x team pink with me!! 💗 congrats!!!

MrsRyan15 · 16/03/2019 07:24

Congrats @PinkLady89x very appt for your username!!!

Team 💗 is growing. There's was so much 💙 in the group to star but all the little ladies are appearing now!

Who has scans coming up this week?

Snowflake9 · 16/03/2019 08:09

I need some advice my fellow Augusteers.

My DH runs his own company and is successful. When we wants to buy a price of machinery we normally go together and take a tour of the factory and then negotiate and buy. We have been to Europe before on a lovely 4 day trip, hired a car etc and saw a cool factory and bough a machine.

He wants to go to an exhibition in Italy in May , I will be 25 weeks pregnant, he is concerned about me going with him as he doesn't know how I will be walking around all day on my feet etc. It is to but a new bit of kit and it's very special to him to do this. I would love to go but at the same time I don't want to be the pregnant wife who is tired and moaning all the time.

This is my first pregnancy, have had quite bad back pains etc already.

Not sure what to do, book him the trip solo? Or put on my big girl pants and flight stockings and join him?

Snowflake9 · 16/03/2019 08:10

**apologies. Typed in a rush!!

Bakingabean · 16/03/2019 09:19

@snowflake9 I say go and enjoy yourself but take it easy- so plenty of breaks to sit in cafes/look at the view/enjoy watching the world go by (depending where you are).

@mrsryan15 my scan is on Friday. Arrrgh time is going so slowly! I'll be 21+2 by then.

And excitingly this morning baby was kicking and wiggling so much DP could feel it for the first time! This kid is mad, he's been wiggling around keeping me awake since 5am. Good practice for the real thing but I would have loved a Saturday lie in!
