@Chocolate89 @curlywurlywooo I'm with you on the weird dreams. The other night I dreamt I gave birth at home on my own, and I gave birth to a puppy Confused

I'm panicking about how I'll cope in the third trimester too - I've never had a summer baby and I don't cope well with the heat at the best of times Blush

curlywurlywooo · 08/03/2019 10:02

@sacrecoeur0712 they’re bonkers aren’t they 😂 I wonder if puppies have a meaning!
I’ve been thinking about the summer heat too... during the heat wave last year I had to buy a fan just to sleep at night, so I think I’ll be using that again this year unless it’s a cold and wet summer!

Jokie · 08/03/2019 11:16

@Chocolate89 @curlywurlywooo @sacrecoeur; thank goodness I'm the only one not having weird dreams. It's very surreal. A few nights ago I was jumping over snakes

QuackersMooo · 08/03/2019 15:47

I had my 16 week midwife appointment today got to hear the heartbeat baby still seems to be tucked up on the right side.

UnicornDust17 · 08/03/2019 19:14

@ScotsBaby2 I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and 20 week scan is on Monday... Eek....

Stopped getting email notifications so will catch up on last couple of pages tonight x

Hope everyone is well?

curlywurlywooo · 08/03/2019 19:32

@Jokie I get vivid and mad dreams even when not pregnant, but they’ve definitely ramped up a notch in the last few weeks 😂

@UnicornDust17 I’ll be thinking of you on Monday! And will look forward to hearing how it went! Mines on Tuesday and I cannot wait Smile

UnicornDust17 · 08/03/2019 20:09

@curlywurlywooo thank you! Not long for you too x

UnicornDust17 · 08/03/2019 20:12

That's lovely to hear @Oftenconfused how are you feeling?

Nomes29 · 08/03/2019 21:36

Hello everyone 👋🏻
Can I join in???
19 weeks pregnant and due on 1st August with DC2!
I'm having an elective c section due to a 47 hour labor and failed to progress with my 8 year old son...
Is anyone in the same boat as me?
Scan on Weds 13th! I think it's a girl 💗 but we shall see!
Also having an EEG & EMG the same day due to having fits and possibly being diagnosed with MS 😞
I forgot how hard being pregnant was 🙈🙈
We're all superstars you know!
Hope everyone is well 😊

Kcjoe · 09/03/2019 07:01

@sacrecoeur0712 I'm the same. I have fibromyalgia so I suffer with the heat really badly. I literally cannot do anything without feeling dizzy and faint if I'm hot 😫

sacrecoeur0712 · 09/03/2019 07:18

@Nomes29 welcome to the group, sounds like a worrying time. Good luck for your scan etc next week.

@Kcjoe I'm praying for a rubbish summer! Sorry to be a killjoy for all those heat worshippers out there but I think a summer like last year might just finish me off!

genome · 09/03/2019 08:09

A damp muslin drapped over you with a fan going is a good way to cool down, I learnt that trick with dd3 (born early September 2016). I'm not sure why I signed up to another summer pregnancy Grin

Good luck with the scan and tests @Nomes29 I had a long labour ending in forceps and blood loss with my first, but my other labours have been much shorter and easier. Just a positive thought if you decide you want to VBAC, although people have told me planned sections are a very different and better experience.

Oftenconfused · 09/03/2019 08:31

Thanks @UnicornDust17! I'm feeling surprisingly well - yes I do know how lucky I am... I have a pretty small bump as well, so the scan was really reassuring to know that the pregnancy is going fine despite not making itself felt too obviously.

UnicornDust17 · 09/03/2019 09:10

@Nomes29 welcome. My goodness 47 hours? That sounds unpleasant Sad
Hope you're being looked after now...
DS1 will be 7 when this one arrives and I was in hospital a lot with him and lost a lot of blood too, but for different reasons Confused how are you feeling?

ScotsBaby2 · 09/03/2019 09:17

Hi 👋🏻 @Nomes29. Welcome!

chiatta · 09/03/2019 09:20

Thanks for everyone who told me about what it feels like to feel baby first time.
I think I felt something yesterday, I’m 17 weeks today. It’s like twitches, flickers, rumbles. It’s hard not to think I’m imagining it.
I had a private scan on holiday when I was 15+6, though they dated 15+3 by measurements- notes say ‘posterior low lying placenta’. Googled this and am now worrying about placenta praevia and also not being able to have a vaginal birth because placenta in way. Please tell me im being silly and to stop googling things related to pregnancy.
My 20 week scan is about 3 weeks away, can’t wait to find out the sex, still pretty sure it’s a boy.
In other news I start a new job in a week and am showing a bit, involves a long commute as well Confused
I hope you are all well and I am enjoying everyone’s updates.

ScotsBaby2 · 09/03/2019 09:23

@chiatta placentas can move. Lots of women have placentas in that position and then they move before birth. Your midwife is the best person to ask.

ScotsBaby2 · 09/03/2019 09:42

@Nomes29 was your labour from first contraction to birth or from 4cm? I was 18 hours in active labour and it was brutal. I can't imagine 47. I'm not surprised you are opting for a section.

OctoberGirl91 · 09/03/2019 10:00

@chiatta I had a scan at 15+4 on Tuesday and was told same information I have the placenta currently covering the cervix fully was told they with reassess situation at 20 week scan and take it from there but told me as the uterus moves up so can the placenta; try not to worry.

I was told to avoid sex as I have had some spotting this is DC3 for me and last delivery was c section which increases chances of placenta prévia and I also had an ERPC operation in October for a loss, so for now I'm remaining positive nothing I can do at moment will change it, hopefully it will move and it doesn't I'll cross that when I get there.

Hope it moves, try not to worry xx

Chocolate89 · 09/03/2019 10:06

@chiatta placenta move all the time as the uterus grows it stretches up! They don't worry too much about low lying placenta until 34 weeks (when they rescan to check the position for delivery) unless you have a bleed! Don't be worrying at all, it has plenty of time to move!

@nomes29 welcome to the group!

@unicorndust17 eek scan on Monday, so exciting! I think is this the 1st big scan?? We will be thinking of you anyway 😊 xx

ScotsBaby2 · 09/03/2019 10:20

Anyone who wishes to join the Facebook group can send me a PM with their email address and I'll add you to the secret group. The group can't be searched for and no one will know you are in it.

So @UnicornDust17 , @Bakingabean @MrsRyan15 are all first up on the due date list so I'm guessing first with 20 week scans.

Who's sticking as team yellow 💛 with me @calmercomber, @Chocolate89 , @ABearandABump , @keebo ?

MrsRyan15 · 09/03/2019 10:22

@ScotsBaby2 my scan is on Thursday.. I'll be exactly 20 weeks! Can't wait. We will be finding out💙💗 I'm too impatient and in need of all the information! Lol

chiatta · 09/03/2019 10:26

Thanks @ScotsBaby2, will ask my midwife when I see her next. It’ll probably move I reckon.
@OctoberGirl91 yes I hope it moves as I hope mine does. Try not to worry too. Interesting re avoiding sex. Wouldn’t be much of a problem for me at the moment.
Thanks for the reassurance @Chocolate89

Anyone thinking of booking ante natal classes? We booked NCT last night mostly so I could make mum friends hopefully. Not much of a network where I am. Looked into some private ones as well but went with NCT in the end. Very expensive mum friends these will be though! It cost a lot!

UnicornDust17 · 09/03/2019 10:34

Try not to Google placenta previa @chiatta, there is a high chance that it will move out the way. Fingers crossed 🤞 for you. If you start bleeding though call your maternity assessment unit straight away. 👍 This is what I had with DS1.

UnicornDust17 · 09/03/2019 10:37

@OctoberGirl91 I hope you are resting up and not doing anything too strenuous.. Please take it easy. Fingers crossed for you too. I had exactly the same as you, with DS1, completely covering 🙈
