Excellent news @Kcjoe try and relax a little now you've got those results.

How did you all get informed about your 16 week midwife appointment? I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and haven't heard anything about it yet... I thought I'd get a letter or something so now I'm wondering if I needed to book it somehow?

Curlywurlywooo · 04/03/2019 16:20

@Kcjoe lovely news and congratulations!

@PinkLady89x my midwife books my next appointment before I leave my last appointment, so she booked that with me at my 14 week appointment. Just give your midwife a bell and say you haven’t got a date for it yet x

QueenofFox · 04/03/2019 16:26

@Kcjoe that's amazing news! And congrats on your girl!

Have 16ek appt tomorrow with homebirth team, I got all my appts booked in at the booking in appt.

ScotsBaby2 · 04/03/2019 16:29

@PinkLady89x I have to book all my midwife appointments with the GP receptionist. Give the midwife a call and ask.

Thank you @bakingabean and @unicorn. I was prescribed lactulose in the first tri and it did get things going but I was under the impression I had to be careful about dosage and couldn’t keep having it long term. MW responded saying fybogel completely safe throughout pregnancy so I will be having that 🤞🤞

@kcjoe great news on the results! And yay for some pink 💞for the thread! I’m curious - have you had any particular cravings or aversions? Like sour/tangy or spicy food? I wonder if any of that is true.

Curlywurlywooo · 04/03/2019 16:48

@Cobblestones I meant to say earlier I had trouble with constipation this week I bought a cheapo bag of dried prunes and just eat 2 or 3 a day! Sorted me out Smile also got a box of fruit and fibre to snack on when I get hungry late at night!

UnicornDust17 · 04/03/2019 16:49

@Cobblestones I drank it by the bottle load last pg 🙈

@milly2000 I had placenta at the front last time, I felt movements from about 16 weeks, just not as regular I don't think

UnicornDust17 · 04/03/2019 16:50

@PinkLady89x my 16 week appointment was booked via hospital antenatal dept. Do you have a number to all from your booking in appointment?

Jelliestogether · 04/03/2019 20:27

I was told at my last midwife appointment to book the 16 week appointment after my 12 week scan. @PinkLady89x

@kcjoe that's amazing news about your results. Bet you are super relieved!

PinkLady89x · 04/03/2019 20:37

Thanks guys. I'll phone them up tomorrow. Not actually sure who to phone but I'll try a couple and see what happens! They never told me to book anything - strange! Thanks for all your help 😊

UnicornDust17 · 04/03/2019 21:04

How did you get on today (was it today?) @sacrecoeur0712 x

sacrecoeur0712 · 04/03/2019 21:07

Thanks @UnicornDust17 - no change in cervical length today, things are looking stable so we carry on with the wait and see approach. Another scan in a week. Feeling a bit more positive now x

Kcjoe · 04/03/2019 22:26

Thank you everyone 😁 so relieved! Mg partner cried when I messaged him apparently! 😍

@Cobblestones the only thing I keep 'craving' is strawberries and crisps. I went off food because of the sickness that I had. When I was pregnant with my son, I ate cheese and ham toasties and drank cherryade. I can't have dairy now otherwise I'd be eating the toasties again! I did hear that sickness was a sign of a girl. I didn't have it with my son x

Kcjoe · 04/03/2019 22:29

For those talking about feeling movement, I'm 14 weeks and 5 days and I can feel movement every now and then. I have an anterior placenta. But this is my second so it's more noticeable than first time around x

UnicornDust17 · 05/03/2019 08:46

@Fuppy I've been getting hip pain at night, it wakes.me up after the I've been sleeping on one side for too long ,so turn. Over and sleep on the other side until that hip hurts and wakes me up. I slept on the bed folded up duvet last night and have been following advise on a website my friend recommended. I hope it settles down and hope it settles down for you too.... 🤞

UnicornDust17 · 05/03/2019 08:47

(please ignore my stupid phone auto predict!🤪) hopefully you can understand what I mean 🤷‍♀️

milly2000 · 05/03/2019 10:16

@Chocolate89 yeah it is a worry. My next appointment isn't until the end of the month now but I'm going to ask a few question. I thought I'd been feeling very soft movements but now I'm doubting it.

QueenofFox · 05/03/2019 11:07

Just had a midwife appt (I'm 17+1) and she said it's not normal to feel movements before about 20 weeks. Some can but she said normally the baby is too far back/down. She said movements won't be regular until about 24 weeks so I thought that was super reassuring. I'm not feeling any movements at all and I don't have an anterior placenta. She also wouldn't do the heartbeat because it's too hit and miss for the same reason.

curlywurlywooo · 05/03/2019 12:11

@QueenofFox my midwife started asking if I felt movement at my 14 week appointment! Which I thought was really, really early to be asking although I had felt something once at 13 weeks but nothing for a good few weeks after. Your midwifes advice sounds more normal! And when I had my 16 week and we were listening to the heartbeat, every time we heard baby move away she said “did you feel that?” And I was so disappointed that I didn’t feel it! But I started feeling movement that night and have done since - every pregnancy is different! I haven’t got a clue about my placenta, no one has said anything about it. I don’t even know anything about my uterus position etc, all I know is the baby kicks more and more as the days go by but my mum felt me quite early on too so I suppose there’s a hereditary element in there. Though I will say (not that I’m medically trained or anything) I do feel like baby is quite forward in my body... as in closer to the front rather than being more central. They found heartbeat immediately so perhaps my uterus is closer to the surface of my skin or something?
I’m 19 weeks today and most recently I’ve noticed baby seems to move loads when I’m eating. I know it takes at least a good few hours for whatever I’m eating to filter through to baby so I wonder if it can hear my crunching and my stomach etc gurgling 😂

Fuppy · 05/03/2019 13:14

@UnicornDust17 Yes I understood! I'm getting the same thing, it's murder not being allowed to sleep on my back as that's the most comfortable for my pelvis. I've had some helpful advice from a physiotherapist so hopefully start seeing some improvement soon, I'm fed up of getting mangled in the bed covers from constantly changing sides!

bubblegumunicorn · 05/03/2019 15:41

@PinkLady89x I found my 16 week appointment written at the front of my pregnancy notes! They didn't tell me they had done that I just found it one day 🙈

sunshine1987 · 06/03/2019 11:02

Ah found this thread, thought the other one was quiet lol 🙈

Jelliestogether · 06/03/2019 11:26

Had my 16 week appointment today, all went well! Baby's heartbeat was 146 bpm. Was very exciting!! Sorry for the random post but just excited!

curlywurlywooo · 06/03/2019 11:37

@Jelliestogether don’t be sorry! It’s nice we all share Smile it’s funny hearing it’s little heart beating isn’t it! I’ve got my 20 week scan next week, I’m really excited for it but we aren’t finding out the sex if we can help ourselves Grin

PinkLady89x · 06/03/2019 13:21

Lovely to hear about positive appointments 😊. I've phoned up and left a message saying I never got a 16 week appointment through - hopefully I'll hear back soon.

So I think I've been feeling baby moving over the last week or so, I'm 15+1 today. Last night I couldn't feel anything all evening so I'm now worried! I can't help myself. Also, had a bit of cramping today, does anyone else still get the cramping? It's not bad but I can feel it there.

I've booked a gender scan for next week! I needed some reassurance ASAP and finding out the gender will be lovely too.

Hope everyone is well!
