Hi all. Had my 29 week check up today, all seems good 😊 midwife took bloods and student nurse seemed to think baby was breach, he is infact lying head down but still very wriggly. He's also measuring at 27 weeks but not enough for the MW to be concerned about. I also made some calls today for some antenatal classes however there is only one available I can attend as the other ones are past my due date.
Hows everyone else doing?

Mondayblues7 · 23/05/2019 20:25

@sacrecoeur0712 my screens have always been on risers but yesterday I made my own risers for my keyboard so I could stand up and work. Boss number 2 saw this and today offered a sit stand desk adapter that he won and never used about a year ago. Came and set it up today and it has been wonderful!!

Monitors are a bit high now when sat down but I prefer to stand at the moment.

How's everyone else doing at work? I see we have a few teachers here. Do you find it difficult in class? X

PhoebeBear · 23/05/2019 20:41

Had a call back from the midwife today as something was wrong with my bloods. Went back to do another test, all my veins have collapsed 😖 had two in each arm and tried on my hands too, back up hospital tomorrow 🙄

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 21:38

Oh no @PhoebeBear! I hope they sort it this time!

@Mondayblues7 I'm in an office and finding work generally okay. We have sit stand desks which is good. My area is very pro flexible working, so I work from home when I have appointments or just don't have meetings to be in for. And treat my hours flexibly as well; work more when I feel good, less when I need rest. I am very lucky though

Mondayblues7 · 23/05/2019 22:45

@PhoebeBear oh god! What a nightmare. Hoping hospital can sort something tomorrow for you.

@Kathryn19 -- your work sounds ideal! Are your colleagues understanding?

Mine are just so old school they think the law and things don't really apply. I get guilt tripped for going to appointments by my colleagues, so end up just working through my lunch hour. I get bitchy comments from management if my appointment runs late.

Roll on 11 weeks!!

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 23:06

@Mondayblues7 I'm so sorry to hear your colleagues are like that. I don't understand why people feel the need.. work really isn't the only important thing in life! I'm so lucky my colleagues are great. My area isn't very hierarchical but anyway my manager is super supportive. More generally everyone respects each other's work life balance and it is about the work you produce not the hours.

keebo · 24/05/2019 20:43

Had my 28wk midwife appointment yesterday, the first DH could actually come to. He got really emotional when we listened to the heartbeat 😍. It definitely sounded like a horse which apparently jeans it's a girl (train for a boy) but my bump is still 'very neat' which means it's a boy. I'm loving the guessing games! Any other old wives tales we can add to the mix? Yet again, I was also told I have a very active baby (literally every midwife, sonographer or doctor has mentioned it). I hoping that will mean the baby wears itself out and sleeps soundly!

What's everyone up to for the bank holiday? I'm going to make a start on decorating the nursery. Just a fresh lick of neutral paint, nothing too exciting. That way it's easy to add to when we know more about the little one's personality.

MrsRyan15 · 25/05/2019 18:25

@keebo I have a neat bump and am having a girl!

I always though the old wives tale was neat bump = boy but so many people have told me it's a typical girl bump. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jokie · 26/05/2019 12:55

How has everyone's weekend been?

Kathryn19 · 26/05/2019 13:21

@Jokie very nice so far thank you! Did some pregnancy yoga, got things organised around the house, some nice trips out for (decaf) coffee. Feeling the most energised and "least pregnant" I can remember since March!!
How is yours? Smile

Bakingabean · 27/05/2019 08:21

@jokie Loving that we’ve got a long weekend! Although trying to have a lie in today but woke up at 3:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. Bummer!

How about everyone else? Are you guys enjoying a long weekend?

Only 19 more working days to go!

Cobblestones · 30/05/2019 23:08

So lovely to catch up and read all your stories.

I keep hearing I have a neat bump too and I’m having a girl.

I recently started going for reflexology and I absolutely love it. I feel it helps with my swollen feet. Other than that I just love a good strong foot massage.

I find it interesting that the baby usually kicks just slightly left of my belly button. And that place feels the hardest like a rock. I’ve also recently noticed that I can see the movement against the skin. I’m slightly obsessed with my belly haha. I just felt the need to share this with you I wouldn’t easily admit out loud I think 😆

Has anyone had a growth scan? I’m due one in a week’s time. Wondering what to expect..

Jelliestogether · 31/05/2019 10:35

@Cobblestones I had a growth scan this week following my 28 week midwife appointment as my measurement was below my GAP chart. Went for a scan which felt very similar to previous anatomy scans. They measured the baby's head, tummy, legs etc and checked the fluid level. Because my baby still was measuring small they checked my placenta and cord flow. All were normal just a small baby. Then had to be seen by a dr after to review the scan, who said I need a repeat scan in 4 weeks to check baby is growing at a steady pace. Hope yours goes ok!

greystar30 · 31/05/2019 10:44

Hi ladies, I'm 28 + 2 and for the past 24 hours have sporadically felt period like pains and that feeling like I'm just about to come on my period. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is this 'normal'? Confused

OctoberGirl91 · 31/05/2019 12:52

@greystar30 I am 28 weeks exactly and had same thing yesterday and today also, was wondering if it could be growing pains or not.

I have placenta previa so keep obsessively checking toilet paper for a bleed but none so far 🤞🏻xx

greystar30 · 31/05/2019 13:46

@OctoberGirl91 ahh I also have a low lying placenta, got a scan in a few weeks to see if it's moved, maybe this is something to do with it, hopefully moving up! 😬🤞🏻

Cobblestones · 31/05/2019 14:50

@greystar I had that at some point in the second trimester and I knew I had a low lying placenta then (not sure now - will know at the scan next week). All I did was put my feet up for the entire day and just take it easy.

Cobblestones · 31/05/2019 14:50

@jelliestogether thanks for the information. That’s useful!

Blueberry2018 · 31/05/2019 15:06

I had a growth scan 2 weeks ago and baby was measuring 29w+6 days and I was 28weeks. Estimated baby to be on 90th percentile- i was measured at midwife yesterday and growth had steadied a little and is now looking at around 70th percentile. Expecting a big baby as i was large although hard to tell as i was 3wks over and 9lb 10oz. I also have low lying placenta, it hadnt moved much at growth scan, got another scan at 32w in 2w time to check again.

OctoberGirl91 · 31/05/2019 15:52

Fingers crossed for you @greystar30 mine is unlike to move consultant said as it's completely covering cervix posterior and wraps round anterior. But definitely take it easy I find doing too much seems to set me off.

I'll update position of placenta when I've had my scan Tuesday 🤞🏻xx

OctoberGirl91 · 31/05/2019 15:54

Lots of low lying placenta @Cobblestones and @Blueberry2018 fingers crossed for you as well. Are yours completely covering?

I've also got gestational diabetes so hoping this doesn't cause anymore complications or make him bigger or put added pressure on placenta.

I'm looking at section at 36 weeks they said xx

greystar30 · 31/05/2019 17:34

Thanks @Cobblestones and @OctoberGirl91 and good luck with your scan on Tuesday, hope the GD doesn't cause any further issues x

greystar30 · 31/05/2019 17:36

@Cobblestones fingers crossed your placenta has moved too! X

PhoebeBear · 02/06/2019 09:36

How's everyone's weekend been?
Finally a weekend off work! I thought I'd relax as take it easy but no, I've been doing some nesting.
For the past few days I've also felt baby A LOT more! Has anyone else noticed that around 30 weeks? It's not really kicks but more rolling over, wriggling etc... keeps me awake at night and it's the first thing that wakes me up on a morning now too 😂

EverythingNow · 02/06/2019 11:07

Morning everyone. 31wks today!
Phoebebear My baby seems very active in the day too. He's super quiet at night though so hope that's a good omen (unlike his nocturnal sisters)

I was awake in the night with a horrible crampy leg. It's not so bad today but a bit achy!

Back to work tomorrow Sad but only 4wks left!!
