@PhoebeBear we are actually moving house in July (eek!) so think that is part of the reason.. like I'm half checked out of my flat already haha and think oh this tidying/organising/proper cleaning can wait until we start packing up... future me will hate present me!!

Jelliestogether · 14/05/2019 18:52

@chiatta yup I'm on nights too! Definitely finding them more difficult now as not sleeping as well. But the end is in sight, 10 working weeks left of work (with a week of annual leave!)

Mondayblues7 · 14/05/2019 20:56

Hey @chiatta they are

: Junlan 7
Womens Nursing Bras Maternity Sleep Padded Wireless for Breastfeeding with Free Bras Extenders

They haven't arrived yet, but my friend swore by them. X

Mondayblues7 · 14/05/2019 20:57

My area and midwife is crap for booking classes. They have one, which I can't book on to unless I am 30 weeks.

Kileah18 · 14/05/2019 21:56

Hey everyone hubby surprised me for our wedding anniversary of a 4D scan yesterday!! It was amazing!! And he's going to be just like his daddy!!

Hope everyone's doing well I got to the bottom of the maternity leave stuff! I'm able to take my 4 weeks holidays first 😊 so will take holidays week of the 24th of June at (34 weeks) that will take me up to start maternity leave at 38 weeks! I have high blood pressure and been on medication so consultant suggested leaving a little earlier anyways can't believe I'll be finishing work in under 6 weeks 😱

Kathryn19 · 14/05/2019 22:14

@Kileah18 what a wonderful surprise and such gorgeous photos!!

Kileah18 · 14/05/2019 22:36

Thank you @Kathryn19 it was the best surprise ever!! So amazing our baby boy weighs 3lbs already 😍

greystar30 · 15/05/2019 07:51

@Bakingabean I'm booked on the day long nhs antenatal course next month, thought I'd get it over with in one go! I'm not looking forward to it, I'm also really awkward with small talk!

@Kathryn19 I'm glad it's not just me with the it'll do attitude at the moment, I'm too knackered to care right now haha

Off for my GTT this morning 🤞🏻 fingers crossed I'm ok.... 😬 has a right rotten two weeks ending up in A&E with a horrendous tooth infection after the dentist ignored it on 3 visits, my face was swollen up to my eyebrow and down to my jawline. Also developed PGP so I'm hoping this won't be the third thing to go wrong as they say they come in 3's.......... 😳

milly2000 · 15/05/2019 09:15

@Bakingabean i have been booked onto one of those all days courses with the NHS like you @greystar30 I'm not looking forward to it.

I've been thinking about not going at all if I'm totally honest. I spoke to a few people who already have children, this being my first and some of them never went and survived! I'm going to see how I feel nearer the time!

greystar30 · 15/05/2019 09:43

@milly2000 I wasn't sure whether to book onto one or not either. What date are you booked in? Mine is 12th June.

milly2000 · 15/05/2019 09:48

Mines the 16th @greystar30 I got the teacher to email me what's covered on the day to help me decide! Hasn't really helped.

greystar30 · 15/05/2019 10:36

@milly2000 I'll let you know how mine goes!

keebo · 15/05/2019 19:30

We're doing NCT classes in June, partly because we haven't lived here that long and not really met many people in our age bracket (we live in the countryside which is lovely but has a different demographic from central London!).
@Kileah18 great scan! That's a lovely present. I wish there were a window in my womb so I could sneak a peak all the time.
@Kathryn19 I was nesting until today! I'm currently having s bit of a meltdown about the chaos in the house. Our building work was finished about 4 weeks ago but the decorating still isn't done so everything is still in total disarray. We spend all our free time doing house chores and gave a decorator but it's doing my head in! Right now I'm literally shaking when I think about how much there is to do just to make the house livable, then there's all the baby prep stuff (we haven't started on the nursery). Plus my belly button has just totally popped out and it's freaked me out! (Last point is completely unrelated but not helping my mood!)
Help! How do I calm down?!

Kathryn19 · 15/05/2019 22:52

Glad other people share the it'll do attitude, I feel a lot better now!!
@keebo oh yes my belly button is going super weird now too and it is freaking me out as well!!! It isn't fully popped out yet, almost though, but an old scar on it from a belly button piercing gone wrong is really sticking out and I hate it....

Mondayblues7 · 15/05/2019 22:55

Sort of a general question here for those booked on through NHS. When I asked at my 20 wk scan to book on to a class they said I couldn't until I was 30 weeks, surely that is to late for me to book on?

My midwife is useless and no help what soever.

Belly button - mine has stretched horizontally and I think I now have stretch marks under my boobs.

Gutted!!

keebo · 15/05/2019 22:57

Ha ha! Just realised my last post should have read 'wasn't nesting until today'. Whoops! An awful evening if stressing but now I feel much calmer (my DH is just amazing and has spent the evening moving furniture so now more things are at least in the correct room). Bloody pregnancy hormones!

PhoebeBear · 16/05/2019 09:44

@Mondayblues7 could of written your post myself! My belt button has done the same and I also have stretch marks that go horizontal under my boobs too 😢 just keep up with bio oil, I'm religiously applying it after showers and when getting ready for work etc

I'm also under NHS, haven't asked myself about classes yet but at my 27 week midwife app the other day I've asked to be transferred to a different hospital and she told me that once I sign up the papers then I'll be told stuff like when classes start. Currently 28 weeks and don't have another midwife app until 29 weeks so I have a feeling it will be after then. Hope that helped x

lostlobster · 16/05/2019 21:41

Hi ladies, I know I'm late to the party but do you mind if I join. I'm due on the 9th August with DC1. We're having a little boy!

Mondayblues7 · 17/05/2019 07:38

@PhoebeBear - I have been oiling up day and night. I am not too fussed, have come to the realisation that my body is doing and amazing thing and I need to just let it do what it's doing.

@lostlobster - Welcome to the thread and congratulations. How are you finding pregnancy so far?

PhoebeBear · 17/05/2019 10:49

@lostlobster welcome! I'm due a day before you with a little boy also!

lostlobster · 17/05/2019 12:59

@Mondayblues7 Thank you!. It’s been quite a hard pregnancy, I suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum until a couple of weeks ago, it’s easing off now. My emotions have been every where too. But other than that I’m just really excited to see my sonGrin.

PhoebeBear Congratulations!

ScotsBaby2 · 17/05/2019 22:02

Hi @lostlobster congratulations!

I am going to ante natal classes every Thursday for 4 weeks from 20th June. I'll be 31-35 weeks. Last pregnancy I did them 33-36 weeks but tbh could have been later. I think if they are done before 38 weeks then all is good. The closer the better or you forget.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm pretty rubbish at checking here and the Facebook group. I feel my bump is currently huge, heavy and achy all the time. I can't believe I still have 3 months to go. Hurry up baby (but not too soon). Feeling a lot more of the usual pregnancy symptoms that I didn't with baby 1. I'm much more tired, back ache, puffy lady bits, waddle, shortness of breath and allllllll the heartburn. Not good. Bonus is baby moves lots and it's nearly third trimester time. Eek.

lostlobster · 17/05/2019 22:15

We cleared out the spare room today and will be starting the nursery soon!. We also decided on the name, Joshua Jude

keebo · 18/05/2019 07:13

@lostlobster welcome! I'm sorry to hear you've had a tricky pregnancy - I hope the last 3rd is plain sailing. Lovely name! We're still trying to add more to our list of 2 but have thought of some nice middle names this week. Good luck with the nursery.
@ScotsBaby2 I have swollen lady parts (and haemorrhoids on and off, though thankfully they don't hurt). I didn't even realise that was a thing in pregnancy when it first happened.

Has anyone here tried hypnobirthing? DH and I have both read The Calm Birthing Method and agree it seems a sensible approach for us. Just wondering whether to do the online videos or sign up to a hypnobirthing course. Any experiences?

PhoebeBear · 18/05/2019 10:43

@keebo thinking of doing a hypobirthing group myself. What's anyone's experiences with a water birth? I've also heard it's much more relaxing so going to look into that too
