Glad others cardiac scans have also gone well, I know how much of a worrying time it is!!

@sacrecoeur0712 how worrying for you! The drs are doing the best for the both of you, fingers crossed it works and your little one stays put for a while longer!!

How is everyone doing? We are trying to get a bit more sorted but at the same time feel like I've got ages till we need to worry about it. Hows everyone else doing with organising? We have ordered the pram and carseat and snuzpod but that's about it!

Kileah18 · 16/04/2019 14:13

Thank you @Fuppy!

And thanks also @sacrecoeur0712!
My sister in law had a stitch at 23 weeks and it totally worked!
I think she had to be brought in early at 38+4 to be induced tho not 100% sure!

Is anyone else here consultant led instead of midwifery led?
Due to my blood pressure problems a consultant told me around 20 weeks that I'd be seeing them from now on but notes haven't changed & have another appointment with him on Thursday 24+3 weeks

sacrecoeur0712 · 16/04/2019 15:11

Thanks all - I'm booked in for the 25th when I'll be 22+6, that's the soonest they can do.

Mondayblues7 · 16/04/2019 20:25

@sacrecoeur0712 I have never heard of this and can't imagine the worry you are going through. Be blessed that they have spotted it and we will all keep our fingers crossed for you that it all goes swimmingly.

I am starting to have alot of round ligament pain now (I think) started this evening and my whole lower abdomen is killing. Almost like period cramps. :(

MrsRyan15 · 16/04/2019 20:43

@Kileah18 I've been changed to consultant led rather than midwife as I've got a rare auto immune condition that seems to be being triggered by the pregnancy.

I've been seeing the consultant every 4 weeks with midwife in between, as well as an immunologist to try to figure out what's going on and any potential impact on baby and the birth. Also just had a referral for anaesthetists... I'm assuming that's in case I need a section?!

It all feels a little OTT, especially as the consultant knows nothing about the condition or the potential impact, but reassuring that I'm being monitored and getting an extra scan or two.

Bakingabean · 16/04/2019 21:29

@sacrecoeur0712 good luck for the 25th!

Has anyone else had arsehole comments from people about their body? Let me share this gem from my parent's (male) neighbour today.

Him: when are you due?
Me: very end of July
Him (looking at my stomach): is it triplets?........

Errrrrrrrr...... no wonder my mother fell out with them years ago.

Fuppy · 16/04/2019 23:24

@sacrecoeur0712 so sorry that you're having a difficult time, I hope all goes well on the 25th.

@Kileah18 I'm also consultant led, likely to be for any subsequent pregnancies too.

@Bakingabean that's awful, what a nasty individual! Luckily I haven't had any comments despite looking 8 months instead of 5 I blame Greggs fml.

sacrecoeur0712 · 17/04/2019 18:08

Thanks all for the support 💕

keebo · 18/04/2019 06:42

@sacrecoeur best of luck for 25th. I hope it will be painless and put your mind at ease for the rest of the pregnancy as a preventative measure.

@Kileah18 welcome! I skulked around for a while too as I'd had 2 previous MCs and didn't want to jinx this one by joining a forum too early. So far, 3rd time lucky though!

@jelliestogether you sound far more organised than I am. We've bought a snuzpod and that's it, although I have a spreadsheet of everything we need to buy and lots of people are gifting us various things from clothes to cribs so we might not need to purchase all that much - just drive round the country to collect everything!

@Bakingabean that's awful! What was your reaction? I think I'd have struggled not to clobber him!

I've had a rubbish week this week having had norovirus. I don't remember the last time I felt so ill, I couldn't even keep water down for several hours. I think it was worse because baby was taking everything it needed still (quite rightly) so leaving me with completely nothing. It was very still the following day but has picked up again now that I've eaten a couple of full meals again. Feeling more human again now, thank goodness.

Bakingabean · 18/04/2019 06:51

@fuppy @ keebo I wish I had thought of a stinging reply but all I managed was "well, sometimes it feels like that".
I dont even think my bump is that big tbh. oh well at least I can laugh about it!

And keebo - hope you're feeling back normal today. Noro sounds hideous!

Jokie · 18/04/2019 11:28

@Kileah18 welcome to the thread! We're due date buddies too. Im also consultant led from my previous birth complications so I'll be in the hospital.

@sacrecoeur0712: what a scare for you! I hope that it goes well and it's nothing too scary.

@bakingabean: what an arsehole comment! My one came yesterday:
"Crickey, are you expecting twins?! You've ballooned since I saw you last week" Hmm

Hope everyone is ok :) I'm very tired this week.

Kileah18 · 18/04/2019 15:28

Thanks @keebo & @Jokie and yay due date buddies!
I had a consultant appointment today for the blood pressure and got another scan to check his measurements. They wrote in my notes 25+2 for head, abdomen and leg but didn't mention dates. I'm 24+3 today & he is weighing an estimate of 1lb 12 🥰.

For being asked about sizes I've also had people asking if I'm ready to go off on Maternity leave soon and when I tell them nooo Atleast another 4 weeks it's the comments like oh wow your huge!! 😤👊

clairelee17 · 18/04/2019 15:31

I have had a few comments from people about my bump, however, I couldn't care less what they say about its size. I'm growing a baby and thankful to be able to do so. So I don't care if they call me an elephant (!), I feel so lucky to be able to have a baby!

Kileah18 · 18/04/2019 15:54

Oops about the maternity thing I Ment Atleast another 10 weeks lol!

EverythingNow · 18/04/2019 16:36

@kileah18 I'm 24+5 today and when i had my scan at 21+1 baby apparently weighed 1lb already/was on 75th percentile. But then all of my previous babies have been big, my last was 9lb10 at 42weeks.
As babies gain 1/2lb a week toward the end she would have been a slightly more reasonable 8lb10 if born on time.

Fuppy · 18/04/2019 17:02

@keebo ouch that sounds horrendous! I hope you feel better soon!

@Jokie me too, I feel like my night feeding training has begun.

Saw the midwife yesterday who told me that (as I'm consultant led) I can request them to start doing sweeps at 37 weeks instead of 38, which is interesting. All well other than that Smile

Jokie · 18/04/2019 20:10

@Fuppy : it's horrible isn't it? I would really like a good night's sleep!

Fuppy · 18/04/2019 20:52

@Jokie tell me about it, I used to be able to sleep through the fire alarm/house alarm going off, dog barking, pneumatic drills etc. and now I wake up when a neighbour rolls their eyes 3 doors down, and then I need a wee, and then my pelvis starts flapping in the breeze. I usually give up at that point.

Mondayblues7 · 18/04/2019 20:57

I have had a few comments at work. It was someone's birthday yesterday and there was so much cakes and junk food in the kitchen. I had a donut in the morning and was satisfied at that. Then got the "go on have another one, you're getting huge now anyway"

I just couldn't believe it.

I am very self conscious of the way I look and am managing the gym 3 times a week again now which is also great for my MH.

Husband hates the bump I think. Ah well.

Can't wait to meet our little sprout.

I also have no idea when to start my mat leave. I only work in an office so nothing physical at all. Sitting all day is beginning to kill me though so I stand up and work every so often.

Jokie · 18/04/2019 21:14

@Mondayblues7 and other office workers: don't forget to tell/discuss any preggo related adjustments they need to make to help you at work. This could be seat support, better chair etc. Don't suffer in silence!

Mondayblues7 · 19/04/2019 16:57

My employer laughed and left the office when I said I needed a foot rest.

Resorted to piling up a load of catalogues under my desk.

Jokie · 19/04/2019 17:17

@Mondayblues7 that's awful! Mine told me to run it past HR and if they didn't have it in stock, I could order it myself and bill it on expenses.

Has everyone had a good, Good Friday?

Kileah18 · 19/04/2019 20:10

Is anyone having issues in work?
My work is treating me like crap because I'm pregnant. I overheard the boss & her daughter talking the other day saying "hope that's not another fuc#er that's pregnant and needs maternity pay" they've been giving me an awful hard time. I'm a beautician so I'm standing a lot I asked to have a 12 hour shift cut to 8 hours so instead of working 4 - 8 hour days and a 12 hour day to just have 5 - 8 hours and they keep booking things in morning - night 😢. Makes it so hard to go in every day dreading it I think I'm going to go on maternity around 33/34weeks use the first 3 weeks as holidays if I can last that long!

Jokie · 20/04/2019 07:52

@Kileah18: that sounds awful :( ive got no advice but I'm sure it's within your rights to ask for adequate changes to enable you to work?

keebo · 20/04/2019 12:06

@Kileah18, I agree that sounds awful! I've no idea what you can do about it though. Are you in a union? Perhaps they could advise? You'd think, in a career like beauty, your boss would expect to have lots of women working who inevitably get pregnant. That's certainly how my boss sees it in teaching where the majority of the workforce are female.

Has anyone confirmed there may leave dates yet? We've just been looking at our options. My summer hols mean I won't have to take any leave before the due date but puzzling over when to go back because DH would like to do some shared parental leave. It's looking like I'll go back around May I think. But I'm also wondering going part-time though wonder if that's a waste if DH is at home full time. Urgh, I hate decisions!
