Thanks @ScotsBaby2 @EverythingNow I've brought one of those perfect prep machines as all I hear is amazing things about them and I spotted it on offer which made it even better.
I'm sure I'll be making bottles with my eyes closed after a while, I'm just a bit of an organisation freak so like to have a process in my head before hand. ( maybe i'm a bit mad 😂)

milly2000 · 10/04/2019 10:54

@PinkLady89x hope your scan goes well today. I no what you mean about being nervous, I'm almost 23 weeks now and I'm trying to relax into the pregnancy a bit and enjoy it. I had a slight worry last week as I hadn't felt him move for a few days but my midwife managed to see me and double check everything and all was well. I felt a bit silly really just being super paranoid! But better safe than sorry and the midwife was loverly about it. I ordered the crib and other furniture for his room this morning as it's on a six week delay but that was me trying to relax and start buying what we need!

Jokie · 10/04/2019 11:57

@milly2000 : you're a girl after my own heart! I'm process mad too!

Midwife this morning and all looking good. No physio referral but I can call and get one if needed.

milly2000 · 10/04/2019 12:07

@Jokie I've heard all the best people are Grin
Glad you midwife appointment went well!

PinkLady89x · 10/04/2019 19:25

We got a big thumbs up from our girl at the 20 week scan today. Everything was perfect which was very reassuring. They offered me the transvaginal scan too to see if I was at risk of preterm labour (apparently they offer it to everyone there) and I had it done. They said I have a very low chance of that happening which was good to hear too! Hope everything is going well for everyone x

24 weeks today! And I can now see my bump move and twitch when baby kicks! It's the oddest thing!

And it's great hearing all the good news!

Fuppy · 10/04/2019 20:03

@Jokie glad your midwife appointment went well

@PinkLady89x excellent news, brilliant scan picture!

@Bakingabean I've been getting the same thing with belly twitches, also can feel him kicking my hand or arm if it's in contact with my tummy, makes me jump sometimes 😆

sacrecoeur0712 · 10/04/2019 20:21

Loving all the positive news, @PinkLady89x what a great pic!

Mondayblues7 · 10/04/2019 22:18

@PinkLady89x what an awesome scan. We had ours this morning. All went well, turned away so we couldn't see it's nubbins.

My maternity jeans from eBay turned up too. Fit really well so happy with those!

The perfect prep machine is a god send so I have been told. I'm hoping to BF but if I can't then will be buying one pronto.

PinkLady89x · 10/04/2019 22:45

Thanks guys. 😊
Is anyone else still being sick daily? Mine started at about 12 weeks (actually being sick rather than just nausea) and I'm currently throwing up most of what I eat still. It's getting exhausting. If I don't eat much then I get sooo hungry and then feel sick but if I eat I am actually sick 😩. I love food and this is really putting me off 😅

PhoebeBear · 10/04/2019 22:58

@Bakingabean omg I'm 23 weeks today and I was wondering when I would be able to see the movements! What are they like? Does it only happen when u lie down ? X

Bakingabean · 11/04/2019 06:42

@fuppy I know what you mean! A couple of times my hand has jerked holding my iPad or book.

@phobebear it's like a muscle twitch mostly. But yesterday it was bigger than that an almost looked like a limb or something made my stomach roll. It's hard to explain except to me it's a bit like am alien in there! It's weird but cool at the same time!

ScotsBaby2 · 11/04/2019 18:39

@milly2000 the perfect prep instructions for making the milk are good. 1 scoop of formula to 1pz of water no matter which way you do it. It does mean when you make 9oz you actually end up with nearly 10oz as it's 9oz of water plus 9 scoops of that makes sense.

Hi everyone, had my 20 week scan, we're having a little girl! 💗 Got a bonus scan at 32 weeks as my placenta is lying very low, she didn't seem that worried so I assume this is a common occurrence?! I'm happy I'll get to see her again!

Blueberry2018 · 12/04/2019 22:11

@august21 I have the same issue with placenta, been told I may need C section as my is nearly blocking cervis but not quite. Not quite 'placenta previa' she said. X

greystar30 · 13/04/2019 08:40

@Blueberry2018 how many weeks are you? I didn't get any information, I was too excited at the scan to ask I think! 🤦🏼‍♀️ is there anything we can do to help shift it up I wonder? (I've had a name change, I was August21!)

Bakingabean · 14/04/2019 04:46

Arrrgh I hate insomnia! 3rd night in a row that I'm awake at this time after needing to pee. Have come back to bed and baby won't stop moving! And not just little movement, I'm getting a right kicking.

Ok I know it's great he's strong and healthy but I'd love a decent nights sleep! Really hoping this isn't a sign of what he's like when he arrives!

Also aware I should probably get off the iPad and try and get some sleep but lying here listening to the dog snore was winding me up!

keebo · 14/04/2019 06:23

Morning all, sorry I've been quiet for a week - we had a lovely relaxing holiday in Ireland and I so enjoyed a couple of halves of Guinness!
I've had a quick scan through all the posts, looks like all sorts is going on.
@pinklady89x how's your vomiting? I hope it's improved. Glad to hear your little one is looking good.
@Snowflake9 I hope you can now sit comfortably! I've logged the Vicks vapour for the future though 🤞 I won't need to it (sorry if it's tmi but I've had diarrhoea for 8 years now thanks to a parasitic invasion so the effects of pregnancy constipation are strangely welcome as it's making me more normal!)
@fuppy did I miss the update? Have you had the heart scan? I know what you mean about stronger kicks, mine's been going mental this week though that might just be that I've been doing less on holiday so noticed it more. A couple of days ago it was kicking straight down, god that hurt! I'm not really looking forward to it doing that when it's stronger!
@sacrecoeur0712 I'm sorry to hear about the irregular heartbeat. A quick look on NHS websites suggests this isn't uncommon and usually sorts itself out, 🤞 it does for your little one too.
@august21 congrats on your baby girl scan!
@BakingaBean insomnia is awful isn't it? I've been awake since 3.30 this morning, after waking up to pee of course! There doesn't seem to be anything we can do about it, I've had insomnia on and off for years, usually sorted by sleeping tablets for a few nights to break the habit but sadly not an option right now. I've tried yoga in bed, reading boring books, reading interesting books, getting up, not getting up... I'm quite militant about not picking up a screen, much good that it does me! Any other ideas from anyone? I might order a pregnancy pillow to see if that helps, though the (rapidly expanding this week, maybe that's also to do with a lazy holiday 🤔) bump isn't a problem yet.

Fuppy · 14/04/2019 09:03

@keebo I'm glad you had a relaxing holiday, sounds like you had a great time. Also, I can see lumps bulging out now when he kicks! Grin

Yes I had the heart scan, I ended up with the same room and sonographer as my last pregnancy but good news, all looks normal! Apparently I'll be seeing her again if I have any more babies.

Re insomnia, I get it too, the vast amount of pillows help a little, I have one of the giant U shape ones, a long straight body one (for between knees and ankles) and a couple of (four) other normal ones and a duvet folded in half and put between mattress and sheet. But I'm suffering with my pelvis really badly so probs OTT for some.

Other than that, as soon as I feel tired, I go to bed and sleep, even if just 90 mins (one full sleep cycle) only if I'm in a position to of course! I also refuse to properly get up (go for wee and back to bed) until I would usually so that even if my brain doesn't get the rest, the rest of my body does. Sometimes imagining a dream home or holiday and the things I would do there (in sequential order) help me go back to sleep.

Apologies for the long post!

sacrecoeur0712 · 14/04/2019 10:32

@keebo thanks for asking, I had a heart scan the next day and everything is fine apparently. I think you may have skipped a page in the thread as it was around the same time as @Fuppy updated?

I'm not sleeping brilliantly but that's because I've developed a skin condition (urticaria) which is insanely itchy. I had it in previous pregnancy but not as badly. It would seem I'm allergic to being pregnant!!

Kileah18 · 15/04/2019 10:41

Hey everyone I was in this thread right at the very start but after seeing so many heartbreaking losses I was terrified so I had to come off it!

It's great to see some of the original posters and yous are all doing great!
Hope it's ok but thought I would check back in!

First baby for me, 24 weeks today (yay) and I'm having a little boy 💙 expected due date it the 5th of August but I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure & on Labeetalol medication 3x per day so may be brought in earlier!
Has anyone had any experience in the past with previous pregnancies?
Hope everyone is feeling good today! 🥰

Fuppy · 16/04/2019 00:02

Congratulations! @Kileah18

sacrecoeur0712 · 16/04/2019 06:16

@Kileah18 a little boy, how lovely! Hope the medication keeps your blood pressure under control, it's good it's been picked up on and is being treated.

More news from me - sorry I feel like I have constant drama at the moment, don't mean to dominate the thread. I was back at the prematurity clinic yesterday and my cervix, which has been slowly shortening, is now below 25mm so I'll be having a cervical stitch put in within the next week. Very scared as there is a 5% chance of my membranes being ruptured/infection during the procedure. Drs feel there's a chance the membranes will go early though without the stitch, so I have to do what's needed to keep baby girl tucked up safe until at least 36/37 weeks when the stitch will be removed. Trying to be brave and focus on it going ok.

ScotsBaby2 · 16/04/2019 11:18

@sacrecoeur0712 such a worry for you. I've heard good things from people who have had the stitch in. Hopefully it all goes well. When will they put the stitch in? How many weeks are you now?

OP posts:
sacrecoeur0712 · 16/04/2019 11:36

@ScotsBaby2 I'm 21+4. Waiting for a call today/tomorrow to confirm date but it's likely to be in the next few days. Hopefully this time next week I'll be wondering what I was so worried about!
