Hi Lucy
If you send me a pm with your email address then I can add you into the group. It's secret so you can't search for it.
Second trimester is sooooo much easier than the first.

20 weeks scan done and everything absolutely fine. Even if the baby wouldn't play ball!

Cobblestones · 19/03/2019 16:56

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something like a pinching pain down in the vagina. It’s been happening on and off for the last two days. Each ‘pinch’ is only about a second but it happens now and again and feels odd. I googled it and most women seem to have it much later in their pregancy. Some say it is just the baby kicking downwards and some say it could be the cervix dilating 😱😱😱

Should I call the midwife about this?

EverythingNow · 19/03/2019 17:16

@cobblestones I definitely feel the baby kicking me in what feels like my cervix and also my bladder.

If you're worried get it checked but I think dilation is unlikely x

Cobblestones · 19/03/2019 18:00

Thanks @everythingnow I really hope you’re right. This anxiety is the worst. I had a friend who gave birth at 25 weeks due to an incompetent cervix and I keep worrying it could happen to me. Sorry to be a party pooper..

Jokie · 19/03/2019 18:20

@Cobblestones: does it go after a few seconds and feel a bit like a lightening bolt? I know a lot of women have that and it's affectionately called: lightening vag or similar names!

If you're worried, I'd get it checked but could just be nerve endings.

Jelliestogether · 19/03/2019 18:39

@cobblestones if your worried just give the midwives a call, that's what they are there for and they would rather a call and reassure you than you be sat worrying for however long!

Also just incase anyone is interested the positive birth company are selling their hypnobirthing online package for 12 pounds today only.

Has anyone started any pregnancy things? I'm thinking of looking at aqua aerobics or something similar.

Also finally booked my NCT classes 😊

Cobblestones · 19/03/2019 19:17

Thank you yes I should call the midwife. I’m going to do that tomorrow morning if I can still feel them.

And I read that too about the lightening vag though I’m not sure whether it’s the same thing like whether it feels like lightening or not. It is only for a second and then comes and goes but each time is for a second.

EverythingNow · 19/03/2019 19:53

@jelliestogether I have been doing pregnancy yoga

Bakingabean · 19/03/2019 21:53

@cobblestones does it feel like a split second stabbing pain? If so I've had it on a few occasions. I thought it was just a consequence of everything else stretching that was maybe pulling my bits in strange ways!?

I would be interested to hear what the midwife says though.

Blueberry2018 · 20/03/2019 06:10

@Cobblestones and @Bakingabean I've had this a little too. I don't think its much to worry about and have heard it being called lightening crotch x

Chocolate89 · 20/03/2019 07:13

Lightening vag 😂 let us know what the midwives say @cobblestones!

Scan tomorrow (eeeeeep) was just about falling asleep last night when dh murmured "imagine it had something like 6 kidneys...goodnight!!" So then had mad dreams that I was selling kidneys on the black market 🤣 how is everyone? X

QueenofFox · 20/03/2019 07:35

Exciting to hear of all the scans! Mine is next Tuesday, can't wait.

Has everyone migrated to the Facebook page? Will join soon.

Jelliestogether · 20/03/2019 09:03

@QueenofFox my scan is on Tuesday coming too! Mine is at 11am so not too bad for having to wait around, plus it's meant my DH is going to have to take the whole day so we are going to treat ourselves afterwards

EverythingNow · 20/03/2019 16:13

Mine is Monday! At last only 5 sleeps!
It's at 10.40am so good chance they'll be about an hour behind by then. I don't reckon I'll be back at work til 1.30. And I only work til 3pm!

Really vivid birth dream here last night. I dreamed I had a girl (I have 3 already) with thick black hair (never had a hairy one) and its shoulder got stuck! It also weighed 4st and I was thrilled because I'm my dream that meant I would be 9st10 after giving birth.

Really odd!

Blueberry2018 · 20/03/2019 18:43

20 week scan went well today. Baby girl is developing perfectly, everything looks fab. Unfortunately I have a low placenta though. Not placenta previa as they can see a gap to my cervix but I have to have another scan at 32wks to see if its moved up enough otherwise I could be looking at a c-section x

Fuppy · 20/03/2019 19:46

My 20 week scan was today too, a bit of a palaver as apparently they'd brought forward my appointment by 3.5 hours but neglected to tell me. Luckily they saw me anyway. All looking good but couldn't get a clear view of his heart so have to go back again. We asked for 2 pics but for some reason they're identical. Main thing is my little boy is still looking healthy Grin

Nomes29 · 20/03/2019 21:25

Can I be added to the group on Facebook???
My phone took a fall and since then this app hasn't worked very well since 🙈🙈😂😂
Hope everyone is well and having a wonderful pregnancy 🤰💗💗

ScotsBaby2 · 20/03/2019 22:56

@Nomes29 if you go into the Mumsnet website and send me a PM with your email address then I will add you to the fb group.

Has anyone experienced and numbness/pins and needles in their legs during pregnancy? I've had it for the last 2 days on and off. Another reason I'm a bit more concerned is i recently travelled back from America, although dr. Google is reassuring its not a blood clot. I've rung the midwife and left a message so waiting to hear back.

Cobblestones · 21/03/2019 17:35

@bakingabean @blueberry thank you that was reassuring. I didn’t end up calling the midwife coz the pain subsided but I have my next appointment on Monday so I plan to ask her then in any case. I’ll let you know what she says.

bubblegumunicorn · 21/03/2019 19:16

@Jelliestogether I did a bit at first! Funnily enough I had just got back from America then too I didn't think too much of it at the time but it was between 8 and 10 weeks! Wonder if it was something to do with the pressure on the plane? Anyway it subsided fairly quickly!

Bakingabean · 21/03/2019 20:28

@cobblestones glad you feel better. Pregnancy does really weird things to your body!

Can I just ask you guys who have had their 20 week scans- is it just a scan? Or do you see a midwife/pee on a stick etc too? And do I need a full bladder (don't think I do but just checking). Mine is tomorrow so just wanting to know vaguely what to expect! Thanks!

bubblegumunicorn · 21/03/2019 21:40

@Bakingabean mine was just a scan :)

ScotsBaby2 · 21/03/2019 22:01

Oh man. I still feel awful. So tired (fell asleep on the birthing ball at pregnancy yoga) and still sick (into the sink) with the realisation that I need to work on my pelvic floor.

Anyone want a toddler for a week and I'll sleep???

How is everyone doing?
