Hi,

It looks like we filled up the last thread before anyone had a chance to start a new one, so here we go! Hope everyone finds their way over.

@twittlebee could you possibly link to the Google Doc again?

@karigan195 so glad you were seen again and got a bonus scan. Lovely to get a bit of reassurance too, hope the next 7 days go quickly for you.

We have B B G B ...... i think this is a girl, dd will be made up if i am right but logistically a boy would be easier lol

Lavellan · 01/03/2019 10:08

I swear I heard the sonographer say "good girl" as she was prodding my bump to make the baby move and my husband thinks she said "she" when talking about the anatomy. I think there's a nub visible in my pictures that looks like a girl so I've convinced myself... I'm trying not to fixate too much since it's early days and I don't want any disappointment. But it's hard!

DustyDoorframes · 01/03/2019 10:23

Aaah lavellan that happened with our eldest- the sonographer said "he", and he was.

On another note, how on earth do chefs cope with the first trimester????? Do any of you work with food? If so you have my eternal admiration! I've not cooked for a month, but I've promised my eldest I'd make his birthday cake today...

StarLight10 · 01/03/2019 11:02

Hey,
Sorry I've not posted for weeks! I've been lurking and trying to keep up.
12 weeks now and scan is next week. Baby #4 but so anxious this time around that something is wrong - can't wait for the scan so I can hopefully see all is ok.
Feeling VERY sick still so hoping that's a good sign.

Loving all these scan results. Crazy some of you know the gender already! Good luck to everyone having scans over the next few days.

Megan2018 · 01/03/2019 11:18

Well done on your NIPT results @KLane
We are too :)

IVEgottheDECAF · 01/03/2019 11:28

starlight we are expecting dc5 and have definitely been more worried about things going wrong this time and last time.

KLane · 01/03/2019 11:42

@Megan2018 I'm a bit of an anxious person and a planner so I love knowing so far in advance the gender, and mainly that risks for certain conditions are so low. Yay for team pink 💗Now I get to shop for all the cute girlie clothes, though she'll undoubtedly mainly end up in DS's tractor outfits 😬

IVEgottheDECAF · 01/03/2019 11:52

We have lots of boys clothes from 6 months upwards so us having a boy would be handy for that lol

TwittleBee · 01/03/2019 12:01

Ds was a summer baby and rather big one too so don't think this baby will get much use out of any of his old clothes, even though they were mostly gender neutral!

SJGR · 01/03/2019 12:10

@KLane tell me more about this NIPT.... I know nothing about it....

Karigan195 · 01/03/2019 12:18

NIPT is a chromosome test for the chromosome disorders like downs Edwards etc.

They take a blood sample from mum and can cleverly take baby’s chromosomes from it to test.

I had it to :) mines a boy though

Karigan195 · 01/03/2019 12:19

www.niftytest.com/

Megan2018 · 01/03/2019 12:35

@SJG

There are loads of different brands of NIPT test but they all do essentially similar things - we had Harmony which is more widely known, but there is NIFTY, SAFE, IONA , Verifi - there are probably others but they are the ones I have heard of.

Because of where I live there was only the option of Harmony at a private clinic or IONA via the hospital (but paid for, not NHS). The IONA test wasn't available until after my dating scan though so opted for Harmony at 10wks. It cost £399 and included a scan plus the blood test.

It is over 99% accurate for chromosomal screening and fetal sex. So we got results of 1/10,000 for Downs, Edwards, Pateu. I am nearly 41 and DH nearly 46 so it was important to us to know - the NHS results would have automatically been bleak due to our age. I can now avoid needing CVS or amnio.
The bonus is the option of getting the fetal sex which is also over 99% accurate!

Megan2018 · 01/03/2019 13:56

Ok, so time is literally standing still now. I'm counting down to scan at 9:30 Monday morning.

Once I leave work today, the next time I see my team I might be able to tell them. It is killing me!

I swear every hour is ticking past so slowly. Just the 67.5 hours to go.

MyBreadIsEggy · 01/03/2019 14:06

Yay!! Thanks to @Megan finding me on another thread, I’m back Grin
I lost you all for a while and couldn’t find you again Sad

Dipsy77 · 01/03/2019 14:55

Was just about to step out the door for an interview when decided I needed the loo and wiped and there's blood totally floored me I'm 10 + 5 I also have cramps only light but I had bleeding at 6 weeks they said I had an extra chorionic haemorrhage but now I'm panicking I've cancelled the interview and trying to get through to EPU feeling so stressed :(

SJGR · 01/03/2019 15:07

@Dipsy77 try to remain calm... lots of people bleed during pregnancy and whilst it doesn't make you feel any better it might honestly be nothing... definitely get checked out at EPU as that will hopefully put your mind at rest... you might need your CMW or GP to refer you so if you're struggling to get through then maybe call one of them - sending you lots of love and a great big hug - early pregnancy is such a stressful time - hope you get answers soon xxx

@KLane thanks for the info - I think I might see what the normal NHS test says before forking out... I'm 36 so my risks are probably a bit higher too - but remember with my DS that the odds were ridiculously low so at least I can compare it to that...

Dipsy77 · 01/03/2019 15:11

I've got through and I've to go for a scan at 9 in the morning I'm a bag of nerves now especially because of my age I was literally about to go for an interview that is prepared for all day I lost my job before Christmas so saw this as a last chance saloon before I start to show they told me to take paracetamol use a warm hot water bottle or have a warm bath and if it get worse ring them back I'm panicking now scared for tomorrow I've been stressing for my dating scan in just over a week don't think I'll sleep tonight :(

Easterbuns1 · 01/03/2019 15:29

Hope everything turns out ok @Dipsy77 it's always a worry. Personally I've bled in all my pregnancies but it doesn't stop the worrying.

I had my dating scan today, was a bag of nerves beforehand but everything ok and I've moved forward another couple of days so will amend the spreadsheet!

Megan2018 · 01/03/2019 15:30

@Dipsy77
I feel for you I really do, we are all dreading this. Such a worry when you can't see what is going on. The fact you had bleeding with a cause at 6 weeks though has to help the odds it is just more of that and nothing worse.

@TwittleBee has had similar and is also anxiously awaiting a scan I think.

There's nothing you can do apart from wait and hope. We're all here for a handhold though!

Megan2018 · 01/03/2019 15:31

Congratulations @Easterbuns1
How exciting, what did they make you now?

Easterbuns1 · 01/03/2019 15:36

@Megan2018 13 weeks exactly today. Scan went on for ages as baby was wriggling and in awkward positions, had to go empty my bladder and dance about a few times!

Dipsy77 · 01/03/2019 15:37

Thanks all my gorgeous cat Margot is sitting with me she's not a lap cat but she knew I was pregnant before I did and wouldn't leave me alone she's knows I'm upset so has snuggled next to me bless her x

Megan2018 · 01/03/2019 15:40

@Easterbuns1 Woohoo - 2nd trimester for you then!

I should be exactly 12 weeks on Monday based on NIPT scan. 12+1 based on LMP. I keep having nightmares though that baby is still 10+2. Going to be in a right state by Monday!

Karigan195 · 01/03/2019 15:50

@Dipsy77

It may just be more of that early bleeding you had. Think positive and we’ll all be crossing our fingers for you
