Hi,

It looks like we filled up the last thread before anyone had a chance to start a new one, so here we go! Hope everyone finds their way over.

@twittlebee could you possibly link to the Google Doc again?

@karigan195 so glad you were seen again and got a bonus scan. Lovely to get a bit of reassurance too, hope the next 7 days go quickly for you.

I'll join the fb group if Monday scan is ok - too superstitious before then.
I keep my fb quite private too - my fb profile not even in my full name!

Congratulations on the scan @stroan

Welcome to all the newcomers too.

Megan2018 · 28/02/2019 17:14

I have just eaten an entire bag of Colin the Caterpillar cherry.
This was after 6 nuggets, large fries at lunch.
Feel really sick and disgusting now.
I really hope these are not going to be a craving!

Tomorrow I will eat fruit and salad.

excitednerves · 28/02/2019 17:17

hi @mumofthehs! I’m also due 3rd Sept although this is my first!

Stroan so pleased your scan went well!

kyles101 · 28/02/2019 17:23

@Megan2018 ha ha - I had a bag of those for my lunch too - entirely nutritionally balanced I'm sure!!

Easterbuns1 · 28/02/2019 17:30

@mumofthehs I've messaged you

Easterbuns1 · 28/02/2019 17:31

also welcome and congratulations to the newcomers! Trying to keep up and do other things at the same time!

DustyDoorframes · 28/02/2019 18:34

I've been doing ok for healthy meals, it's just the bits between... today I've had a marmalade sandwich, a chocolate croissant, a "sharing" bag of popcorn, a packet of ginger nuts, three hit cross buns, a pretzel, and a bag of hula hoops. And that's on top of a proper big cooked lunch, a decent breakfast, and I'm in urgent need of my supper!
Getting remotely hungry or thirsty makes me so so nauseous.

Fortheloveofscience · 28/02/2019 18:41

Thanks @Easterbuns1 @DustyDoorframes, good points. I’ll hang on until my dating scan (a week tomorrow Shock) then decide, I think.

In the food stakes, I’ve had 3 Sainsburys oatmeal raisin cookies and 2 ring doughnuts this afternoon.

boodles101 · 28/02/2019 18:44

I think I'm doing much better with my eating now. My appetite seems to have died down a bit and nowhere near as ravenous as I was. I've also got into a good routine of making packed lunch for work and taking in lots of snacks healthy and a little treat to eat throughout the day.
Saying all that though, DH has just ordered a Chinese. Grin

KnobJockey · 28/02/2019 18:49

Is the nausea starting to wane yet dusty doorframes?

That was me being suspicious Stroan, felt very guilty afterwards as she didn't answer me then hasn't been back! Im glad there was no ulterior motive there.

Megan, cherry sweets are what got me through the nausea up until last week- I found Asdas jelly cherries were the juiciest, and since they were 5 bags for £1 I was just buying another 5 every time I went by! Macdonald's fries and nuggets also featured heavily, I'm trying not to let that one turn into an addiction, it's already a habit!

KnobJockey · 28/02/2019 18:53

Forthelove, I'll do the same...only a week tomorrow but it's dragged so much to come around! But at the same time, we're all over a quarter of the way through already, and some have hit the 1/3 mark, that's flying by!

pinkpig381 · 28/02/2019 19:31

@Fortheloveofscience @KnobJockey I've got my dating scan next Friday as well, it's crawling round so slowly! I'm too nervous to let myself get excited! Had an 8 week scan and all looked well but still very nervy!

happydays00 · 28/02/2019 19:40

I'm not on FB so will be sticking around too.

Absolutely in the same boat as those who get nauseous at the first sign of hunger or thirst. I've developed a complete aversion to meat and potatoes. Living off very odd combinations and hoping to return to normal soon! Ideally a diet which incorporates something more than carbohydrates!

Stroan · 28/02/2019 19:50

@dustydoorframes and @happydays00 I'm exactly the same. Eat continuously or the nausea is even worse. I cried for twenty minutes last night because I was so hungry but didn't want anything. Then I was sick anyway. And just because nausea is the worst - thinking about or talking about food also makes me nauseous but I still have to eat regularly. DH constantly asking me what I want is pushing me over the edge, and he's only trying to help. Poor DH!

I've given up on beating myself up about eating habits. I can't change it right now so there's no point in having yet another reason to feel bad. Plus, this isn't greed or gluttony, it's an actual illness.

@knobjockey don't feel guilty, you weren't the only one. I'll probably join later - I already have loads of Facebook groups and WhatsApp chats on the go and should probably be on my phone less!

Also, I've recently discovered Londis Cherry Lips. Definitely stiff competition for the Asda Jelly Cherries. Can you tell I have tried a lot of fruity jelly sweets?!

@KnobJockey I'm in the dreaded week 9, hopefully this is the peak (just hiding in the bathroom from my kids so I can have a quiet little retch...)
@Stroan you are totally right Re just eating what you need to and that's fine! I'm usually really on it with heathy packed lunches and snacks, but these few months are just going to be what they are on that front. If I bring a pack up I can be sure that the very thought of it will turn me green by lunch...

DustyDoorframes · 28/02/2019 20:10

Ps- clearly I need to get me some cherry sweets!

LaBelleSausage · 28/02/2019 20:20

I seem to be hitting the bland carbs hard. Had a buttered baguette filled with roast potatoes for lunch and that really hit the spot.
The thought of sweets makes me feel a bit queasy at the moment

GemmaJen · 28/02/2019 20:43

I'm craving crisps all the time, I can eat 6 packs in a day 🙈. I'm hoping this habit goes away in a couple of weeks. 11+4 and the constant nausea doesn't seem to be going anywhere 🤢

ColdCottage · 28/02/2019 20:54

Had my 12 week scan today and despite thinking I'd had another missed miscarriage there was 1 (phew my other fear was twins as have been so ill this time) wiggly baby on the screen.

All good news, due mid September.

Now for a good baby countdown app. Any suggestions?

TwittleBee · 28/02/2019 21:00

I'm the complete opposite! I require sugar constantly it seems LaBelleSausage !

Ah lovely news ColdCottage

Megan2018 · 28/02/2019 21:03

I’m still not having any nausea- I throw up cleaning teeth but that’s all really. I’m just greedy!
My poor teeth though Sad

excitednerves · 28/02/2019 23:03

Oh congrats @coldcottage lovely news!

All this talk of jelly sweets is making me sad. I love a good jelly sweet but have gone right off them. Bought a bag of Percy pigs in the airport last week and could only eat about 6 of them before giving the rest to my husband. I know this is good for my waistline but I have such a sweet tooth, I really miss my faves.

SJGR · 01/03/2019 06:39

Hi Guys! I'm new here due 27.09... 2 weeks til my scan and kinda bricking it! This pregnancy is completely different to my 1st so just kinda hoping it isn't anything sinister. I did have a scan at 6 weeks so I know it's viable and beating but I just want to get over the 12 week hurdle!

I have had a bit of nausea but not loads (definitely another boy!) - kinda glad not to be feeling too shitty and my heart goes out to all of you are struggling with it - it's so cruel - especially when you're tired too... also I frikkin cannot stop eating - and my coke (a cola!!) addiction has gone through the roof - thank god for diet caffeine free or my bubba would be wired on exit! Looking forward to getting to know you guys... xx

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ I'm up for an FB group.

Florencenotflo · 01/03/2019 08:27

Yeah it's bland carbs all the way here, and anything salty! I've been craving bisto gravy for ages. I had a cup last night like you would soup! It was heaven! DH is away tomorrow so I have mashed potato and gravy with peas planned for dinner 😂.

I've also been craving KFC, but not the actual chicken or chips, I just want the coating/skin 😂

KLane · 01/03/2019 09:05

Welcome @SJGR I've got a 21 month old DS and was convinced this was another boy too. Mild nausea but nothing unmanageable (like last time) and the pregnancy has pretty much been the same. We got our NIPT results yesterday though and found out it's a girl! I'm totally shocked. Everyone reacts so differently to pregnancy 🤷‍♀️I was really kind of hoping for a boy!
