Hi,

It looks like we filled up the last thread before anyone had a chance to start a new one, so here we go! Hope everyone finds their way over.

@twittlebee could you possibly link to the Google Doc again?

@karigan195 so glad you were seen again and got a bonus scan. Lovely to get a bit of reassurance too, hope the next 7 days go quickly for you.

I’ve put on nearly 1 and a half stone. Blush

Trying to be rational about it - I lost 3 stone to get pregnant and was exercising daily with a very restrictive diet. I can now only eat white carbs which always make me pile on weight and I can’t drink so I’m retaining loads of water.

But I was horrified when the doctor weighed me. I can’t wait to be able to eat healthily.

I think I lost a bit to start with due to stopping booze! I was consuming so many calories on wine especially over Christmas.

I am fatter in belly area and around boobs, but I think my face is thinner than it was pre-pg.

I haven't been very sick at all though so been able to eat ok-ish. I am also still poo-ing for England Blush so no constipation here which I think helps feel slimmer!

Mind you I saw the GP and 5+1 and she weighed me at 71kg on her scales. MW weighed me at bloody 75kg exactly a week later and I refuse to believe her scales were right (she said herself she thought they weighed heavy though even though meant to be calibrated). One of them has to be wrong as there was no way at all I put that much on in 7 days.

All my clothes still fit although have a tummy bulge so I can't think I can be that much different - yet!!

Karigan195 · 18/02/2019 18:29

Much the same here Megan. I had actually put on a bit due to knee injury and being immobile but was 72kg now 77kg but in week 12 so I can now start to get a handle on it.

Trying to be healthy. Tonight’s dinner is steak on a bed on honey soaked winter veg with a red wine and shallot sauce. No carbs! No cream no pasta!

Hsunshine · 18/02/2019 18:32

I had a scan today and moved me from 12+1 to 12+5 so very happy
I had lost 8lbs when the midwife weighed me 2 weeks ago but have probably gained at least that much now

Whisky2014 · 18/02/2019 18:41

Hsunshine so are you due 27th Aug then? Me and tefiti2 are similar to you :)

Hsunshine · 18/02/2019 19:12

@whisky2014 I think so, it was a private scan so she wrote it down for me so I need to check, it deff moved to late August. When are you due?

MunchyMunchkin · 18/02/2019 19:17

@labellesausage I’m really glad I told my boss a few weeks ago as she was really understanding and helpful when I looked and felt like absolute trash last week.
She is now keen for me to tell the other consultants so they can plan for my absence! I’ve said I’ll happily spill the beans next week post nipty.

I had gained 2kg but lost it with the two weeks of awful nausea so was my normal weight when my midwife weighed me last week. They are supposed to document your pre pregnancy weight but never do!

Whisky2014 · 18/02/2019 20:20

@hsunshine I'm due 28th aug Smile

Karigan195 · 18/02/2019 21:36

Thought I was getting over the sickness but just had the worst yet. TMI I just discovered you can actually throw up so hard you pee yourself a little. Deeply unpleasant!

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/02/2019 21:38

Karigan Flowers

I am so fucking sore. Going to try and see GP tomorrow about the SPD and dig out my support belt from last time. My arse hurts.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/02/2019 07:55

10+6

Is anyone else under a consultant? I am seeing mine for first time on the 4th and wondering what to expect?

Karigan195 · 19/02/2019 08:01

Yes but I don’t see mine until April

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/02/2019 08:02

Is it not usual to see them at dating scan then? That is when i am seeing mine.

Karigan195 · 19/02/2019 08:26

I have no idea. So far my nhs district seems chaotic and slow so may just be here 🤷‍♀️

daydreamdaisy · 19/02/2019 08:26

Has anyone else become ridiculously emotional? 11 weeks and I can't stop tearing up randomly for sad or happy or just bloody neutral things! I'm a weepy person already so this could be dangerous...

TwittleBee · 19/02/2019 08:31

It depends what you are being seen for I believe IVEgottheDECAF, I was consultant led last time round and will be again this time. Last time it was for MH issues so they generally just spoke to me about how I am, what I am feeling and if I need any further support. I also had my obs taken.

This time I am under consultant care for PPROM and MH and been told that basically all it will involve is further obs and discussions on lifestyle etc.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/02/2019 08:39

I am being consultant led due to risks associated with it being baby 5. All other pregnancies and births have been fine except for spd.

Easterbuns1 · 19/02/2019 08:48

@IVEgottheDECAF I'm consultant led, my appointment is 2 weeks after my dating scan. When I had my booking appointment with mw she said I'd probably get both appointments on same day but that's not what's come through so I guess he's busy. Different trust this time but when I had consultant appointments with previous two it just used to be a chat about options really.

Easterbuns1 · 19/02/2019 08:49

@daydreamdaisy i teared up watching the Lego movie at the cinema last week, take from that what you will lol!

Megan2018 · 19/02/2019 08:57

MWtold meto expect to be consultant led due to age and blood pressure. She said to expect first appointment approx 2 weeks after dating scan.
I’ve not heard anything yet but dating scan just under 2 weeks away so consultant apt unlikely to be for another month.

stroan · 19/02/2019 09:17

I’m consultant led due to high BMI, previous gestational diabetes and a tricky birth. I’ve seen mine already at an emergency appointment that my midwife demanded and have another appointment in 4 weeks. Then I think it will be every 4 weeks and more towards the end.

I wouldn’t have seen them at the dating scan - will be in the same clinic for bloods but that’s just the midwife. Everywhere does it completely differently and it’s hard to figure out what you should and shouldn’t be doing sometimes!

TwittleBee · 19/02/2019 10:22

Just realised.... I havent been sick today or even had a whiff of nausea! Oh please tell me I am gonna be lucky and get over sickness early!

Whisky2014 · 19/02/2019 10:29

On my commute I saw 6 geese take off and fly off above me. The sun was rising behind them and they looked happy. I cried.

I also cried when i DIDNT kill a pheasant that ran out in front of my car and I managed to stop in time :)

Karigan195 · 19/02/2019 10:44

@TwittleBee I was thinking that last few days then yesterday pm was the worst ever 😂😂.

Just take each day as it comes.

heather88 · 19/02/2019 10:55

@Karigan195 my scan is just before yours, 22nd March... seems like way too long to wait! I think I’ll be 13+1 by then. Maybe there are some positives of a slightly later scan, clearer picture?!
@daydreamdaisy I was at a gig on Thursday having a perfectly lovely time and then burst into tears because someone moved in front of me blocking my view... errrm wtf hormones 🙄
