Hope this works....! Here's hoping July is the month for

  • proper bumps not fat looking tummies
  • feeling them move!

Beller - know the feeling..wore a new pair of maternity trousers to work today (without trying it on before hand) and they keep slipping down ..rushing around asking anyone if they have any spare safety pins!

suey2 · 05/07/2007 10:00

woo-hoo was given a seat on the tube today, on both lines, by 2 men! Rush hour jam packed, too! I am not wearing a jacket again- i think it disguises the bump a bit

mother2b · 05/07/2007 10:23

hello, im due 18th dec and i have a question for you!

are you all having proper kicks now? i could feel movement at twelve weeks but i had some severe cramping at the end of last week and over the weekend
i heard the babys heart beat at hosp on thurs but i cant feel any movement now?

just wandered if you're all feeling kicks etc or its ok that im not?

suey2 · 05/07/2007 10:25

I thought i did, but i reckon i was making it up and was just wind. I read in my book that once you start feeling it you should feel it every day- i don't know if that is true or not. (I am due 6th dec by LMP)

Mrswizz · 05/07/2007 10:31

I got a seat on the tube last night, a lovely Polish builder guy in a yellow jacket gave up his seat for me. It really restores your faith.

How many pelvic floor exercises are you supposed to do a day. I'm always paranoid I'm not doing enough.

BecklePhoenixBird · 05/07/2007 10:56

Am not as far along as you Mother2b but I was definitely getting a few wriggles last week but this week am not certain I am getting any IYKWIM. I am guessing that if baby goes towards or faces towards the back of your uterus you are less likely to feel it? I don't think I felt regular movements with either of my DSs before around 20-25 weeks, before that it was only now and again and not every day. Go and see your MW again if you are worried and need reassurance!

Mrswizz · 05/07/2007 10:57

My colleague's wife's waters have just broken. How exciting!

macdoodle · 05/07/2007 11:05

I'm 15 weeks with No2 def think am feeling little flutters (could be bowels but don't think so)...was much later with first - but was very active little chick on nuchal scan...
Just a chuckle have been so late at booking and fr various reasons my NHS BOOKING scan and bloods will not be until 17 weeks !!! SO my anomaly scan will be almost straight after

Mrswizz · 05/07/2007 11:14

Macdoodle, I felt my first flutters about that time. Now I'm 18+4 and I'm feeling them all the time - I can even feel them from the outside, DH has felt the kicks too. I especially get them when on the bus, in a car, on the train or a particularly lively moment when DH was watching re-runs of scottish football league games. Reckon its a boy!

janeinbarcelona · 05/07/2007 11:18

Hello, I'm new to this thread. Am 15 weeks and still suffering terribly with ms. Not actually being sick but feeling sick. I've had it from week 6 and am absolutely fed up of it. My first pregnancy was completely different so this has been a big shock. I just want to feel normal again....... Anyone else still suffering with ms and nausea after the first trimester?

macdoodle · 05/07/2007 11:25

Me too hon horrid - on top I have had UTI and now stinking cold....
I am being less actually violently sick but still feel nauseaus all day Was same with my first right up to labour

janeinbarcelona · 05/07/2007 11:31

Oh my....... right up until labour????? We've waited 20 months to get pregnant, with a miscarriage in between and I so want to enjoy this pregnancy but I feel terrible.

What is UTI?

macdoodle · 05/07/2007 11:37

UTI = urinary tract infection
Sorry hon but once you have babe in arms you really do forget - once mine started again I suddenly remembered how shite I felt last time .... I really didn't/don't enjoy being pregnant but the end product is SOOOOO worth it

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 05/07/2007 11:42

Hi

Im due 1st Dec and have a dd 3.8 and had a stillborn dd at 25 weeks in Apr 05.

I had severe sickness with first two from 6 until 22 weeks. With this one I had it from 9-17 weeks then I got SPD so now in bed again as can hardly walk.

Not feeling any movements yet in what is an already stressful pregnancy.Heard heartbeat last week and have 20 week scan on 16th so hoping to get a reassuring kick b4 then....

Congratulations to you all
x

janeinbarcelona · 05/07/2007 11:56

Poor you..... don't really know what to say. But hope everything is positive on the 16th.

MotherofZ · 05/07/2007 11:57

Hello mother2be
Just read your bit on the pregnancy section -the thread moves too fast, sometimes you need to scroll back bit to catch up with what's going on.
I've felt a few flutters since a couple days ago - but usually only happens when I am sitting quietly at my desk - more aware of it then.
Hope you're ok.

Mrswizz · 05/07/2007 11:58

Chocolate Peanut, sounds like you're having a terrible time. Sorry to hear about your SPD.

My MS went off in week 16 thankfully. Hope yours goes off soon Janeinbarcelona.

My DH sometimes says I go on too much about being PG. I don't think he realises that it really can affect your whole body and emotions. So many little niggles and odd feelings. This is my first so it is all new to me and I want him to know what its like.

janeinbarcelona · 05/07/2007 12:08

I think it is really difficult for anyone who has never had the experience of a pregnancy to understand all that goes on with your body. Although DH is very supportive I certainly get most sympathy from my friends who have children.

Caz10 · 05/07/2007 12:29

17 weeks here and no wriggles at all! Trying not to worry though as it's my 1st pregnancy so don't think I should be expecting anything just yet. Heard the heartbeat last week so that was a big reassurance.

Chocolatepeanut I'm so sorry about your stillbirth, what an awful thing to have to go through. Wonderful that you are pregnant again.

Mother2b I don't mean to be rude or anything but I really don't think you have been ignored! And no, I don't think you should be worried re no kicks yet, esp if this is your 1st. From what I understand 18-22 wks is most common time to feel first movements, and even then they are wriggles rather than kicks! My MW said to say to her if I hadn't felt anything by 19/20wks and she would listen to heartbeat again to reassure me.

Weighed myself this morning and have put on 10 pounds in total (!) ...2lbs since last week. Anyone else had any changes to their weight??

Caz10 · 05/07/2007 12:53

I don't have scales in my house! On purpose!! But was amazed at 12 week scan that I HADN'T put on any weight, when I had changed shape so much!
I don't see the midwife again until 22wks, quite sure I'll have piled it on by then!!

suey2 · 05/07/2007 13:15

you may not want to hear this, motherofZ, i am 18 weeks and have put on 4lb- but am sure i will catch up. (i started at 11st 4lb, 5ft 10in so not exactly a skinny malinky)

MotherofZ · 05/07/2007 13:36

Last time on put on 4 stones (and took me 7 hard months to work it off!) - this time trying to be sooooooo healthy (but am giving in sometimes)...

thelady · 05/07/2007 16:43

I work in kg (grew up metric, you see) and have put on about 1.5kg so far. I started at 80kg though (think that's about 12.5 stone!) so I've got plenty spare.

Absolutely furious this evening: a water main burst in the street last night, and the water board have waited until now to start work. They'll be switching everything off at 6pm just in time to inconvenience all our guests, dinner customers etc. Their reasoning: well, there's a lot of hairdressers locally, and we coldn't cut them off! Never mind the whole street coming home from work to no water....

Mrswizz · 05/07/2007 16:59

MotherofZ - I think I've put on about that much too. Oh dear. Hoping its the old dodgy scales we have at work.
