Hope this works....! Here's hoping July is the month for

  • proper bumps not fat looking tummies
  • feeling them move!
OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ahhh, so it's just me with the gaudy addiction then! Did you see the Zandra Rhodes stuff? So delightfully hideous, just imagine one covered in fondant fancies....

Well done mixedmama for whipping everyone into shape on that Dispatches thread! Nice work!

MotherofZ · 24/07/2007 15:45

Going to have a look on the Dispatches thread now....

Awww, thanks Mimcakey. It got quite serious at one point as one lady seemed to think I was rubbishing it as my delivery and everything was straight forward, but I was just trying to point out if you dont have the staff or training or funds there is little hope unless there are new initiatives (sp) incidentally I didnt see the programme.

mimicakey · 24/07/2007 16:03

Well you got it bang on, IMO. Some people do get very carried away / emotionally involved on some of these chats unfortunately.

suey2 · 24/07/2007 16:04

oooh- cuppa tea and green and blacks- what a fab idea- i am definitely joining the party! My tea, sadly, will be out of a paper cup, though. lol at granny neuro!

mixedmama · 24/07/2007 16:18

You crack me up Neuro... you bought a plate to hang on the wall!! It clearly made you feel good, I love Japanese dolls!!

Neuro · 24/07/2007 17:13

Mimicakey - eeeeek! I don't know if i have terrible taste now but I just found some Zandra Rhodes stuff for Royal Doulton and err i like it! Is this the sort of stuff you mean? I wouldn't like a whole collection, but i'd consider hanging a side plate on the wall! Cute butterfly things on it.

Mixedmama - i'm not so crazy! my mum's got some nice plates (side plate size) on a shelf in her kitchen, they're a mix of morroccan stuff and old family hand me downs (which i have my beady eye on).

Thing is, i don't like fussy stuff, and my kitchen is plain, but i do think the way to brighten up one's home is with ACCESSORIES!!! nice white/plain walls with jazzy stuff on them. I like the swedish look of white, with a bit of wood and then primary coloured stuff.

Oooh can we talk about interior design tomorrow?

I am eating Green and Blacks now, the maya gold one...the whole bar's gonna get it!

Neuro · 24/07/2007 17:15

this is my new plate, platefans! www.chinacraft.co.uk/pattern.asp?cboManufacturer=505&cboPattern=3106&SPID=A14DF838-5F1E-41A4- AE06-70B770637113

I LOVE IT!

mixedmama · 24/07/2007 17:31

I will be honest I do have one hand painted plate from Turkey that is displayed on top of my fridge.

skidaddle · 24/07/2007 17:37

bloody wierdos

Neuro · 24/07/2007 17:56

Good news about our future babies - they're going to be born in the Year of the Fire Pig, which is a very lucky year in Chinese astrology. We will be well looked after in our old age. HURRAY!!!!!

good night all, i'm orf to hang a plate

Housemum · 25/07/2007 00:14

Can't say I do hanging plates on walls - plates are for putting food on (briefly) before shoving it in your mouth!! Anyway, as we're in crockery mood I'll link to my lovely dinner plates on that site! Twist Alea Limone - I only have 4 big plates and 2 small plates, and mine were from the outlet shop at Portsmouth but they make me smile. Oh yes, and I bought the matching mugs on special purchase too!

Oh, I need to go to bed, I'm rambling about plates now - what's that about fgs??!!

mixedmama · 25/07/2007 07:30

My hubby wont be pleased to hear it is the year of the Fire Pig, we are Muslim you see (albeit not very strict) but pig things are a no no, he even wanted to get rid of DS's piggy bank and I had to make him see sense and that it is just a money box.

At work very early today as I am leaving at 11.30 for my second midwife appointment, havent even met my midwife as someone else did my booking appointment, hopefully will like her, have seen horror stories about awful midwifes on here.

Anyway, if anybody is about come and keep me company - I am the only person in the office and bored silly.

skidaddle · 25/07/2007 07:42

Hi mixedmama,

I am in the office early too!

lol at the piggy bank but glad your dh agreed to keep it (although I have seen lots of v. cool non-pig piggy banks iykwim)

have just remembered that i have a lovely hand-painted Mexican bowl in my living room that I keep batteries and paper clips and other such stuff in - is this the equivalent of hanging a plate on the wall??

mixedmama · 25/07/2007 07:55

I think your Mexican bowl certainly qualifies!! what has Neuro started....

Got my midwife appointment today and am trying to remember all of the things that I have to ask her. Got to wee in that silly bottle as well, such a trial and takes such skill.

MotherofZ · 25/07/2007 08:11

Morning all!
Hope you are all ok. Went to see the new Harry Potter film last night, was brill! Gosh, all the kids in it look so grown up now. Wierd going to the cinema, haven't been since before DD was born - which was 19 months ago!

Trying to get hold of a cheapy copy of the latest book now, sold out at our nearest Asda.....

buzzybee · 25/07/2007 08:15

My MW just gave me the dipstick and told me to wee on that - was a bit easier...!!!
Nice to see some of you guys on deck when I've just got home from work and shoved some fries in the oven so waiting for those, yum.

mixedmama · 25/07/2007 08:18

Are you overseas Buzzy or do you work nights...

I have a really thin little pot, it is not going to be pretty I know that much.

Nbg · 25/07/2007 08:18

Morning all

Naff all to report here apart from a very kicky baby and quite a few braxton hicks.

Oh and big heavy boobs

mixedmama · 25/07/2007 08:20

MotherofZ - you know I read loads and love the cinema but Harry Potter just does not appeal to me at all - honestly though I havent actually tried and and all my friends absolutely love them, I think it is great that they have such appeal for both kids and children that is a real acheivement (sp).

buzzybee · 25/07/2007 08:22

Yeah I'm in little ole New Zealand way down under. I used to live in London tho. My DD was born in London 5 years ago and its been very interesting to see the difference in different systems this time around.

skidaddle · 25/07/2007 08:32

mixedmama - i know I'm the same with those little wee jars - still don't really know where my wee hole is and I'm 33 years old

mixedmama · 25/07/2007 08:38

Hope no one is eating brekkie... I always seem to start talking some form of going to the toilet at lunch or some such other eating time....

MotherofZ · 25/07/2007 08:42

talking about digestive systems and all things related - is anyone else getting terrible wind, especially when you don't eat for like 2-3 hours + ???
