My boobs are leaking.

Oh god.

This has happened with the previous two pregnancies. My boobs smell heavily of crisps, then start leaking.

Now I know what colostrum actually is every time I wake now with “crispy discs” on my vest I’m going to feel the “precious drops of gold” guilt.

Is anyone else leaky?!

rollerskaterdata · 19/03/2019 19:49

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut how many weeks are you? I'm not leaking but my nipples are crusty and have been for a few weeks. Never leaked though and didn't with my DS either. Is it weird I'm jealous?! 😂

Kescilly · 19/03/2019 20:05

I started leaking last week and was freaking out and all THERE’S NO TIME with my husband.

OP posts:
Bigonesmallone3 · 19/03/2019 20:14

I'm not leaky but if I give them a squeeze i can get colostrum out..

Changingagain · 19/03/2019 20:19

I'm a little leaky, just enough that my nipples are either sticky or crusty. Isn't pregnancy lovely lol.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 19/03/2019 20:21

I think I’m 28 weeks now @rollerskaterdata

And thank you @bigonesmallone3 cos I’m kinda the same but I smelt the overpowering aroma of crisps, gave one a honk and it pooled out (tmi).

This without fail means the return of nighttime crispy discs.

I don’t know why this gets to me but it does. I think any unusual bodily leak always has but has the capacity to be just annoying if I want to sit round the house with my barely contained wabs jiggling about in a vest. Hm.

swiftfox · 19/03/2019 20:37

Oh my gosh, I have no boob leakage symptoms (yet) although they have gone very dark and big.... And so sore that I'm scared of touching them!

Thanks for the cheers yesterday re: slowed down movements. This evening's been a busy one, so I guess he was just taking a few days off. Causing trouble, so early on.
I'm exhausted after an 11-hour work day. Getting the husband to massage my feet in bed.

toomanyflatwhites · 19/03/2019 21:40

I know you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that, but just played the first 2 videos from the positive birth company and it's so irritating that she keeps brushing her microphone and making weird noises - maybe I'm just super picky??!!
I haven't noticed any boob leakage but don't dare squeeze just in case Hmm I had my last day at work for over a week today as we are off to visit the in-laws in France tomorrow. I was seriously unhappy about going for so long but now am thinking positive as I will be a) off work, b) getting cooked for c) not doing cleaning and hopefully d) having someone entertain DD a lot. Trying not to think too much about how annoyed I get every.single.time with PILs speaking no English and DP not translating stuff (I speak the language but not fluently)....

Dustyzest · 19/03/2019 21:52

Omg I had a leak the other day! It freaked me out, I woke up with a wet arm and was like wtf is this?! Then I realised and was just in silent shock for some hours. I have taken to wearing v thick bra things in bed in preparation. I know it’s all a natural thing blah blah blah but oh god it’s also weird.

rollerskaterdata · 19/03/2019 22:12

If I squeeze them colostrum comes out but no actual leakage much to my dismay

@swiftfox I'm also currently getting a massage in bed!

LivingOnAPear · 19/03/2019 22:24

Hi @Kescilly would you be able to add me too.

My details

Sex of baby female

of baby: 2nd

Location: Brighton
Age at due date: 40

Latest symptoms are swollen achey legs and indigestion/ heartburn and constant UTIs.

Went to dr about UTI and he was beyond useless. I ended getting private prescription for antibiotics online as I was going away and I didn’t want it to ruin my holiday. Has anyone else had constant UTIs?

I still don’t feel like this is actually happening. I don’t know if this is normal with subsequent pregnancies. Anyway I’m going to sign up for a daisy birthing course to hopefully meet more mums to be and prepare for the birth (I forgot how to breathe last time).

Thanks for positive birth company and snuzpod info Smile

Heyha · 19/03/2019 22:27

No leaking yet but one is a bit crusty most mornings...I'm a couple of weeks behind most of you so it may only be a matter of time 😂

excitedmama · 20/03/2019 00:05

Thanks everyone. Had the scan today and it was really lovely to have a sonographer who was excited about seeing a baby even though she does it everyday. The sonographer we had for our gender scan was miserable and awful.
Turns out baby is fine, not too big and not too much fluid, so clearly I'm just fat and bloaty when measured with a tape measure!

Thanks for all your support xxx

lstef · 20/03/2019 07:23

@toomany - the PBC video sound improves after the second or third, that rustling was super distracting, but isnt there on the rest :)

My boobs have leaked since week 16. I just found it funny, it seems like it comes and goes. I can express it sometimes.

lstef · 20/03/2019 07:25

@imtakingabath - yes, access is for 12 months after purchasing the pack. If youve already done hypnobirthing then maybe wait- I'm just doing it online as I can't afford an in person class.

Torsz · 20/03/2019 07:26

No leaking here as yet - 29+5. Hopefully that doesn't mean anything in terms of whether I'll be able to bf?!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 20/03/2019 08:00

Also starting to think I’m gonna have to possibly stop cycling. Some utter bitch was honking, shouting and beeping at me to “move out the way” this am on a clearly marked road where bikes only have a path one way (not my way).

Last week some angry pensioner stepped out in front of me to berate me for cycling on the pavement. I wasn’t as it’s a dual path through the centre of the borough in which I live.

Now shaking like a leaf as I was then cos I keep visualising the alternative - what would have happpend had I crashed into him/she had rear ended me.

I love cycling and I don’t go far but we do live in “London’s most cycle friendly borough”. Just two incidents like that + rising anxiety levels in general make something previously stupid into tearfully upsetting and day ruining.

[sniffs].

LivingOnAPear · 20/03/2019 08:38

@Torsz I don’t think it means anything. I had no issues bf my first and didn’t have any leaking until she was over a week old. I even tried to express when I was overdue to induce labour and nothing happened.

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut
Hope you are ok, stupid people. I cycled up to due date with my first but feel way more cautious this time. Half cycled half walked home the other day as was scared of the road, took forever.

Dustyzest · 20/03/2019 09:12

Has anyone made a birth plan with their midwives yet? When did this happen? I’ve only seen a hospital one at my booking appt then a community one at 16 weeks (now 26 weeks) but I have a severe needle phobia which I’m currently having CBT for. Cannulas are my worst fear and I just don’t know when I’m going to get to talk through my options - I’ve not had any contact details for a midwife either and the one at my booking appt was so horrible when I had a panic attack about the blood test.

WeeBean · 20/03/2019 09:34

@Dustyzest in my green file it details what happens at each appointment and it says we go over the birth plan at the 28 week appointment. Not sure if it's the same everywhere, I'm in NI. Hopefully it's the same for you and you can discuss it then! If it's not brought up by them I would bring it up of I were you, I've seen people say birth plans were never discussed or looked at.

New pregnancy peeve - leg cramps! I had them much earlier on for a wee while but they have returned, every night for the last 3 nights they've woken me up. So done!!

Curlywurly3 · 20/03/2019 10:14

There is now a thread for December babies! We’re like a bunch of old timers now ☺️ Despite all the grumbles, back ache, constipation, lack of sleep, sore nipples... I am SO excited! Currently lying here watching the little tummy movements! ❤️ x

annihall · 20/03/2019 10:17

Sorry in advance for the rant but having a bit of a bad day... anyone else feeling ridiculously tired and has no energy? I'm 28+2 and feel like I haven't slept in days. Work is so stressful atm and I'm finding it hard to focus or get stuff done... feel absolutely drained. Also my nose just suddenly started bleeding heavily and while I was on the bathroom to sort that out the fire alarm went off (they test it every Wednesday around that time) - it made me jump so much I started crying and now sitting in the work toilet being a mess :( bloody hormones!!

Torsz · 20/03/2019 10:32

Mine hasn't mentioned the birth plan as yet - my next appointment is the 31 week one on Tuesday so hopefully it will be covered then!

fee1234 · 20/03/2019 10:40

Can't believe there's a December thread now!! Our babies will be 6 months old by then OMG

I've been checking my boobs every day but nothing leaking yet.. they are mega dark and sensitive though so hopefully they manage to do their job at the end. Too scared to play about with them though because I read that nipple stimulation can bring on Labour.

hexagon01 · 20/03/2019 11:55

@annihall yes I feel the same! And was going to come here to rant ha ha.

I’m mainly stressed about my impending house move as everything has stalled but the rest of he chain is ready to go and everyone is getting really stressy, our buyers mortgage agreement runs out in 2 weeks and I’m getting more and more pregnant and I’m just so desperate to move and be settled and sorted for when the baby comes.

Also stressed about hiring my maternity cover at work (last time was a total disaster), got interviews tomorrow for that.

No leaky boobs here but mine didn’t even leak when I was breastfeeding a newborn, never needed pads or anything!
