Oh I meant to say as well has anyone else started with getting cramp in their feet now? So stupidly painful! I thought my indigestion was getting better too but it's back with a vengeance today

swiftfox · 16/03/2019 04:06

So it's 4am and I'm awake since 3.30 for the third night in a row Confused I thought they baby was meant to keep me up, not the pregnancy. So fed up. Why can't I sleep? Getting through work has been such a struggle this week and I'm not even meant to finish till week 38.

@hexagon01 I have just called my GP surgery a few times for pg related meds and they've just sent the prescription straight to the local pharmacy. No need for a visit! If the GP won't do that, you could just have a phone appointment with them. They are so used to dishing out certain stuff for pregnant ladies!

@kescilly stats from me: first baby (boy), due 12th June, I'm 39 and live in London Smile

Kescilly · 16/03/2019 12:40

Thanks @swiftfox! Sorry you didn’t sleep well. I didn’t either, but I’m convinced the baby is just training me now.

I’ve just had my third glucose test scheduled. I’m getting a little tired of doing them now, but I would still rather know.

hexagon01 · 16/03/2019 12:53

I remember (briefly!) thinking that I slept better after the baby was born than when pregnant - it didn’t last ha ha.

Good shout @swiftfox, that sounds much better than making an appointment.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 16/03/2019 21:05

@heyha YES! Horrible cramps in the arches of my feet. Why though?

First world problems. I treated myself to a posh pair of maternity jeans, wore them for the first time today and they FUCKING RIPPED. The waistband tore clean away from the jeans leaving a huge frayed hole
Angry.

That'll teach me for buying something fancier than H&M...

Heyha · 16/03/2019 22:04

I think it might be mild dehydration, I had cramp a few times yesterday and then today (tmi alert) have been constipated which has made my indigestion worse to the point of fighting commingled again sigh
Next week's task is definitely to drink more, see if that helps!

Heyha · 16/03/2019 22:06

I made a new word 😂 that should say vomming of course.

I'm starting swimming next week and bought a maternity tankini in what I thought was the right size but it's almost like control pants for my bump, I swear normal clothes shopping isn't this hard!

rollerskaterdata · 16/03/2019 22:10

@Heyha it's hideous isn't it. My constipation and indigestion can also get so bad I feel like I'm going to vomit. Actually had a bought of it so bad this evening I had to do deep breathing to stop myself throwing up. I should not be throwing up at 29 weeks, those days are behind me! please for my sanity!

excitedmama · 17/03/2019 02:53

Hi all, hope you're coping okay!

I'm wide awake at 2:50am .. my body feels like it's 9am. Ridiculous... I remember this from my first pregnancy.. always used to message my American friends who were awake!

I have my first midwife appointment in months on Monday, I haven't had one since the week after Christmas but I think Monday is the start of the 2 weekly ones? The baby is so low down it feels like a horse is kicking me in the vagina most days 😬

Anyone else got a low down baby?

Torsz · 17/03/2019 07:19

@excitedmama bless you - I had a few weeks of crazy early mornings but seem to be sleeping through now so hopefully it's temporary!

I'm having appointments each 3 weeks (25/28/31/34 weeks) then it goes to every 2 weeks - not sure if it's different around the country?x

excitedmama · 17/03/2019 07:37

@Torsz Ooh not sure! Maybe they're every 3 weeks then :)
I have been trying to get hold of my midwife since January because I've been suffering with water infections but just ended up going to the hospital in the end because she's totally gone MIA! So I wonder if I'll actually see the midwife I had at the beginning or if she's left or something. She gave me her number to call and text but she hasn't got back to me and now I just feel like a burden!

Daffydillo · 17/03/2019 09:34

Hi all bit late to the party but can I join you? I’m due with DS2 on 20th June.

Not in a miserable way but I don’t know anyone else that is pregnant and it’s a bit lonely! All good with baby so far, I am having extra scans this time as DS1 was a whopper. This one seems much lower down, and very busy - I am being kicked to bits Smile.

Heyha · 17/03/2019 12:07

I've seen a different one every time @excitedmama ! All be lovely and had a slightly different approach/chat so probably not a bad thing in some respects.

@daffydillo we are due date buddies, yay! Also have a very busy baby but mainly during the daytime so I'm hoping that pattern continues (no chance 😂)

Bizawit · 17/03/2019 12:34

With everyone on the pregnancy insomnia- I’m sooo tired, and keep waking up every hour or so to pee! Also having a lot of crazy dreams..

I had a question about cots- sorry if this has been covered already? I want to get one of those next-to-the-bed cots where you can put the side down. I can’t decide between the Chicco next-to-me magic and the snuzpod. Does anyone have any thoughts/ insights? The snuzpod is much more attractive as a piece of furniture but it seems like the Chicco magic might be a bit more practical as a cot? (which after all is the point!) any ideas?

excitedmama · 17/03/2019 12:47

@Bizawit We got the snuzpod second hand for £40, looking forward to having him next to me this time. Like you say, a much more attractive piece of furniture!

@Daffydillo Hello!

Daffydillo · 17/03/2019 13:55

@Bizawit I have a tutti bambini cozee this time, chosen purely because it is a good width. I think the snuzpod looks very narrow. My DS1 (fair enough was 10lb8oz at birth) was out of his by the time he was 8 weeks. Gutted!

Daffydillo · 17/03/2019 13:56

@Heyha hello! Nice to have a due date buddy! Is this your first? (Sorry being lazy, should really read up post!)

I’ve got a real itch to be buying things but we don’t actually need anything this time, boo!

Heyha · 17/03/2019 14:04

Yep it is our first so I think chances of him/her being here by 20th June are remote 😂 but we shall see.
After much mumsnetting we went for a next to me for upstairs then we got the carrycot part of our travel system specifically for daytime/downstairs naps. I've always enjoyed a daytime snooze when possible though so I reckon the next to me might be in use during daylight as well so we can both have a good sleep upstairs once we're into some sort of pattern!

rollerskaterdata · 17/03/2019 15:41

We've got the snuzpod 3, obviously have yet to try it out. It has loads of great features and was the most attractive next to me cot in our opinion. With DS we only ever used a Moses basket as that's all we could afford at the time, and getting up in the middle of the night/having to get up to peek over the side of it drove me crazy tbh! Very much looking forward to having something bed level and more open this time round!

fee1234 · 17/03/2019 17:42

I've been having a lot of pain in my hips recently, it wakes me up and it lasts all day 😩 got myself a maternity ball so going to blow it up tonight and do some stretching on it. Will try not to bounce on it too much just in case it makes baby come early!

Kescilly · 17/03/2019 19:46

@fee1234 have you been to physio? It’s self-referral here and I just went last week for hip pain. My pain isn’t as bad as yours but I was worried it would just get worse!

She was great and gave me some exercises to do. But also she described how to make a “pillow pocket” around your hips. So you have a pillow under your bump, and then behind you, which elevates everything else and relieves the pressure of having your hip sink into the bed. It sounds basic but it’s actually helped me a lot when sleeping.

OP posts:
fee1234 · 17/03/2019 20:23

@Kescilly I haven't been no, but I think I will call this week. I like the sound of the pillow pocket, might try and fashion something tonight out of pillows etc

stellarfox · 17/03/2019 21:35

@Bizawit We went for the snuzpod 3 as it went higher than the next2me and our bed is quite high, it looks better and I thought the next2me seemed quite big in person! Also the snuzpod you can take off the bassinet from the base and move it round the house. I’m sure either are a good choice though!

Spargle · 18/03/2019 01:01

@Bizawit we’ve gone with the Next2me because our bed base sticks out wider than our mattress, and the Next2me has feet which fold back to allow the cot part to go flush with the mattress. Most other bedside cribs didn’t have this option, so our choice was limited!

stellarfox · 18/03/2019 07:27

Anyone looking at the snuzpod there’s a £30 off voucher on the Emma’s diary app!
